STORYTIME!

Deceit rose an eyebrow, sitting at the dinning room table reading a novel Logan had recommended him, watching as Patton was shakily looking around and sneaking into the kitchen. He was most likely trying to steal another cookie. That's what he always does when he tries to be stealthy, however there was something different: Patton had a slightly different appearance.

Patton had quite the ring on his finger, shining a baby blue and golden hue. In the words of Deceit, it was absolutely ugly and the gemstone was tiny. It was on his left hand and ring finger, the finger that connects to the heart. That's why it's the finger you out your wedding ring on. Patton opened the fridge and took out a plate of sliced cheese and assorted fruit slices. That's... oddly healthy. Deceit smelled a secret.

"Patton."

Patton jumped, nearly dropping the tray. Patton turned around, face red and clearly sweating from the awkwardness of being caught. He gave Virgil a good run for his money, but he's probably too busy trying to find some good out of Remus with Logan. They've been trying for three days and made some breakthroughs, but that couple is just gentle and wholesome with Deceit's quirky boyfriend. 

"What are you doing?"

Patton looked down at the tray, seeing nothing wrong and trying to feign confusion. Patton is a much better actor than you'd think. Probably from all the time he spends with Roman. Patton then moved his left hand to try and hide it from Deceit. He tried to do it subtly, but thst isn't happening. Deceit contwined his smirk, trying to keep a straight face. Wait. That's Impossible. The only possible thing that's Hetero about him is his Heterochromia. He tried to imitate Logan's RBF. That's a better phrasing of it.

"Sorry kiddo! Roman wants to be in a diet so he can look more like a 'Dashing Disney Prince' so I offered to help. He's hungry so I'm getting the snacks I prepared earlier for him! Ummm... was there something you needed Dee?"

Deceit shook his head, Patton shrugging and whistling a merry tune as he went back upstairs to go and bring the cheese and fruit to Roman. Patton wasn't lying. Deceit would know if he was lying. It's the fact he's hiding something that brought a smirk to his face. Deceit was so proud of his son. Deceit set down the novel, placing a bookmark in it, and slowly began to sneak in the literal shadows and stalk Patton. It's not as creepy as it sounds, promise.

Patton knocked on Roman's door, grinning and ecstatic. Roman let him in and while the door was open, Deceit used the shadows to slip right in. One of the few perks of being a dark sides. Patton set down the tray and immediately Roman spun him around and brought no him in for a kiss, both of them laughing and ending up sitting on the ground and gathering materials to make a blanket fort. But Deceit was lucky enough for them to have a conversation first.

"Hey... Roman? How long do you think the others will take to notice us? Well, I'm sure they know that there's something between us but how long do you think it'll take for them to notice the rings and figure out that we're married?"

Deceit held in a gasp. That's adorable. Getting married without having a wedding? That's engagement sweetie. Besides, Marraige is a lie created by the lie that isn't society. It's not necessary, it's just a relationship validation and a not-so-surefire commitment to being together forever and possibly starting a family. If those two started a family, it'd be a family of dogs.

"I don't think you need to worry, Butterfly. Why would anything bad happen if anyone finds out? I'm positive that all our friends would support us and love us regardless. Well, not love like I love you but love like the love you have for the others. Right now, let's relax and just enjoy eachother's company. We can watch movies and eat the snacks I sliced up earlier. Besides, I want to look at our rings together again. They're so nice. You did a wonderful job~"

Huh, it seems that the things that you'd think each side would do was swapped. You'd think that Roman picked out the rings and Patton made the snacks, but that's reversed! What an ironic turn of events. As Patton got the tray and fed a slice of cheese to Roman like a cliché mushy couple. Deceit decided that it's time to come out. Not out of the closet. It's the last day of June. He's already out. Relax.

"Boo~"

Patton nearly jumped fifteen feet into the air, luckily he had his fiancé holding him down. Roman instantly used his free hand, the one not draped around Patton's shoulders, to pull out his sword and pointed it at Deceit. Roman was mad, but Patton was completely red faced. Roman let out a sigh, extremely annoyed more than anything. Deceit was ready to be hit by a creative nickname to degrade him and cover up for him discovering their engagement that was meant to be kept secret.

"Great. The Slytherin Snape has decided that privacy in one's room doesn't exist. Just peachy."

Deceit just laughed, doing his little "laugh and a half" routine without actually saying "that's a laugh and a half". Patton just munched on an apple slice, too embarrassed that he was caught to actually face the conversation. Deceit hummed and noticed how they were holding their left hands now. Their rings were together. Roman's was identical to Patton's but his gemstone color was dark red. They were gorgeous. Deceit wasn't jealous at all.

"I would've expected that you'd let us know sooner. I absolutely adore being left out of the loop of the happiness of two of my best friends."

Roman and Patton shared a look. Deceit crossed his arms, honestly a little disappointed. Deceit wanted to support their relationship and maybe tease them a little bit. He's been worried that the two felt left out since everyone else was in a relationship. Logan and Virgil have been in a relationship for the longest time. Deceit and Remus were a thing since the beginning of their existence. What? Remus is a fun guy. The randomness reassures him that every day won't be the same. And the two OCs Remy And Doctor Picani Are dating. It would have been niceness to save him the pity party. Patton finally decided to speak, the guilt getting to him.

"Deceit I... we never meant to upset you. We never meant to upset anyone! We just... I'm just kinda embarrassed."

Meanwhile, Roman was just going "awwwww" and smiling. Patton was kind of having an adorable meltdown. It's like an emotional meltdown, but it's just being to flustered and it's super adorable and Patton does it a lot. Roman ran his head through Patton's hair, petting him like a cat. Patton hid his face in Roman's shoulder while Roman just laughed, comforting him and apologizing to Deceit. A very casual Roman is very rare and nice to see. It made Deceit smile a bit.

"We're sorry, Deceit. We didn't mean any harm. I just want to keep my adorable flustered Patton all to myself for a little while~ I hope you don't mind?"

"ROOOOMAAAAAAAAAAAN!!!!!!!"

The fact that Patton literally screamed Roman's name so loud in embarassment it nearly broke the soundproof of the room proved it. Roman just kept snickering and Deceit was honestly Impressed. He never thought Patton could ever get so red. It made the sash Roman wore jealous AND look blue next to it! Deceit shook his head and left, giving the couple some privacy.

Some secrets are worth keeping~

Again, sometimes it's better to keep things hidden or secret if it's better. If it can possibly hurt you or someone else, maybe just keep it to yourself. Huge reason why I don't plan on coming out until I'm old enough to live alone and make it definitely not a phase. Just know what secrets are better to keep and keep them. Sometimes it's better dat way. But not all the time! Like if someone is being hurt then definitely tell someone! Especially if the one hurt is yourself.
