Road Taken [Logicality] (Magic AU)

Can we get some love in the comments for Pengi11? They got a stomachache and really wanted fluff so here I am!

STORYTIME!

Magic has always fascinated Logan. Scientifically all forms of magic should be impossible, yet it exists. How? Logan had learned that not everything needs a scientific explanation to just be. That's the road he has taken and it is a road he was so glad he chose. There was a person who helped him reach this path and his name was Patton. Patton was his boyfriend, but not for long.

Patton sprinkled the last bit of miracle dust on the path and blue glowing flowers grew where the dust was placed. The path was completed and everything was in place. Now all he needed was his boyfriend and the magician's show will begin. He looked over at his best friends Roman and Virgil who helped make this all possible. They both grinned and gave him encouraging gestures. It was time to extend the road.

~OwO This is where the story starts~

Logan was reading a novel newly written by one of his favorite magyk-born authors. After the war for equal right between the races many of the magyk-born have begun following their dreams outside of the inexplicable acts of magic. Logan was so blessed to be born in a time period so accepting, that meant he could be with his amazing boyfriend. The novel was one of romance and he adored the plot so far.

"Logan, have you seen the flowers?"

Somebody slumped down next to him in his secret spot he reserves for alone time. Logan rose and eyebrow and glanced up from his novel to see his little brother Virgil sitting there with a calm smile. It was a welcome change from the anxiety-ridden expression that plagued him before.

"Flowers?"

"Yeah, the blue roses. They glow a little bit too. I heard a rumor from Roman and Remus that they take you somewhere special and sacred to the magyk-born. Like Patton. They only reveal themselves to people who are about to experience a great level of change in their life. They match the person's favorite color. I'm pretty sure they're for you. Are ya gonna follow them?"

Logan scoffed. That was a blatant lie. His little brother couldn't lie to save his life. Patton has told him about the miracle dust that grows whatever plant that the user of the dust thinks of. Clearly Patton, or someone else with the ability to use miracle dust, wished for blue luminescent roses to grow here. However, Logan had decided to humor whatever game Virgil and his boyfriend wanted to play with him. He sighed and closed his book, setting it inside the hallow tree to be kept for safe keeping.

"If I follow the path of roses will you stop speaking nonsense?"

Virgil nodded with a big cheesy grin, getting Logan to do exactly what he wanted him to do. Logan stood up and brushed off his pants, the flowers glowing slightly brighter. Logan shoved his hands in his pockets and began following the path for literally no reason other than to appease his brother.

~UwU skipping time time~

Patton had the four Sakura trees placed perfectly around the open plain and the flowers were gleaming a very bright blue, showing that Logan as extremely near. Roman and Remus ran off to scout for him so he could begin the show. Patton looked at the ring passed down in his family for generations. It was time to propose. Being boyfriend just wasn't enough anymore. It was time to be together for infinity and beyond.

Remus sounded the alarm saying that Logan was in perfect distance to begin his plan. Remus literally started making crow sounds. Roman groaned internally and Patton noddd  kneeling to the ground and placing his palms to the earth. Suddenly a large gust of wind took all the pink flowers from the branches of the trees and stormed towards Logan, doing that thing from the Pochahontas thing to bring him a feeling of fluttery wonder. As all of this happened, Roman began to sing for the two of them.

"🎶One alone Is not enough, we need both togetherrrrrrrrr. Winter Summer, Moon and Suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuun🎶"

Logan was swept away from looking st all the flowers, blue lighting the pink and making everything seem purple. Patton sprung up to his feet, using the power in his body to make the wind slowly stop and swirl around Logan's feet, the branches on the trees wilting somewhat to become a beautiful quartet of willow trees. Logan watched all of the pink flowers fall to the ground, outlining the blue path leading up to where Patton was standing with a warm smile. A wave of understanding engulfed his lover.

"🎶Lesson number ooooooooone.🎶"

Logan started walking up towards him with a smile involuntarily pulling at his lips. That is exactly what Patton wanted him to do. He wanted him to be filled with so much wonder and joy. That's what magic is supposed to do. At least, it always does that for Logan. Roman gave Patton the classic bisexual finger guns before stepping out. This was their moment. But Patton knew both he and Remus, and probably Virgil, are going to be watching from behind a tree somewhere.

"Patton, what's all this? This was quite an extravagant gesture, even for you. Is there a special occasion at all?"

"I just know that the best way to get you to come and talk to me is by making the journey as magical as possible. Also because I love you~"

Patton suddenly threw the ring into the air, stomping his left foot out onto the ground so a vine would erupt from the ground and catch it with perfect choreography. Patton has been practicing this precision for a week now. He silently cheered to himself when the ring slipped onto the vine and curled right in front of Logan's face, dropping the ring into Patton's cupper hands as he bent down on one knee, delivering the monologue he worked hard on with both Roman and Virgil.

"The road we both have taken has made us both happy. You have made me smarter than I ever though my slow self could ever be and I introduced you to magic. We both have made eachother so happy and I really wanted to thank you for all that. I want us to be happy like that forever. So... do you wanna finalize that road we have taken? Can my life be forever yours? Can you be mine? Will you marry me?"

Patton watched Logan cover his mouth with his hands, trying to hide the fact he was ecstatic beyond belief. Remus cheered in the background, Patton actuslly using thst reference to the Lowkey-actually-highkey racist musical Once On This Island. But the Racism is an important part of the plot and teaches a lesson. It's not good, racism is never good, but it teaches everyone to not be that way. This isn't making anything any better. Let's just stop writing now. At least this paragraph.

"Patton, I never thought- you actually want to marry a human like me? I am quite dull compared to you."

"Never ever say anything like that again! You're such an amazing person who can tolerate how I can't understand anything and you love me for who I am! You don't discriminate against me like all humans do or make fun of me like my magyk-kin do. You love me, and I love you. Of course I want to marry you!"

"Then... then yes! Yes I will marry you! Patton sprung up to his feet after slipping the ring on Logan's finger, taking his lover into his arms. They're going to be married. Together forever until infinity and beyond. Both men smiled and tears were spilt that day. The road they have taken has been set in stone and will always be 'us' rather than 'you and me'. And the two were happy. They will be happy. They will always be happy.

Together.
