Sweetheart of Serendipity Café [Moxiety] (Coffee Shop AU) (Genderfluid Pride AU)

Hadestown and Death Note The Musical have my heart Rn omgggggg

STORYTIME!

Patton was a little sweetheart, a little gem, a human literally made of the sweetest things given from the angels as a blessing to the Earth. They owns their own Café in a small town in the southernmost part of Florida called Serendipity. No matter what, they'd wear some sort of khaki bottoms and a striped top. They'd always wear a cute pastel apron to go with the aesthetic of the cafe and they'd make the best coffee art. The sweetest part? Everyone's their brother, sister, or sibling if they don't have a binary gender. Oh, and Patton is hella Genderfluid. The color apron would tell what gender Patton was for the day. It's even on a little sign before you walk in.

Patton was a huge reason why Virgil absolutely loved living in the town he lived in. Patton was a huge reason why he doesn't kill himself and why he has actually felt a happiness he has even numb to since he was nine years old. Virgil comes every other day. Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday. He always makes sure he sees Patton and gets his pick me up for the next two days.

The bell rang above Virgil's head as he walked into Serendipity Café with a smile. He pulled up a bar stool and sat down, right in front of where Patton was fixing up some really cool latte art because there's no customers in yet. Who would go to a coffee shop at seven in the morning on a Tuesday anyway? Only Virgil. Patton finished the art and took a selfie with her phone. The pastel pink apron told the world "Hey, I'm a girl today so please respect my pronouns and have a wonderful day!" Positive and optimistic, just like the sweet girl Patton from behind the counter. She also wore a headband with a bow on it to match the apron. She looks extremely cute today.

"Hey Patty, your headband looks lovely today. It's very cute."

"Awwwww! Thank you Virgil! Here, I know exactly what drink you want. Lemme fix it up for you and then you need to start spilling that tea family! I wanna hear everything and I wanna know all about it sis!"

Patton cheered, hurrying off to another side behind the counter to get Virgil's tea. Virgil isn't a coffee man. It's hecka bitter and not his taste. Weird to have a non-coffee lover come to a coffee shop. Like said earlier, he comes to Serendipity to be here with Patton. Virgil waited patiently, halfway falling asleep because he had really bad insomnia last night (fat lie he stayed up all last night trying to catch rare bugs in animal crossing). He looked around and listened to the faint sounds of lofi jazzhop playing in the resteraunt. Patton loves the stuff, and Virgil doesn't blame him. It really calms the nerves. Perfect for someone with social anxiety like him. Before Virgil knew it, he had a cloud of steam puffing up against the bottom of his chin and was greeted with a sweetheart smiling right at him. Tea to warm his hands and a smile to warm his heart.

"Okay! Tea's done! Give me one second brother and I'll be right over there!"

Patton set the latter next to Virgil in front now of the adjacent barstool to his right. Awww, that's cute. Patton remembered that Virgil was left handed and sat on the opposite side. That's just how considerate Patton was. She ran around, making sure her apron didn't fit all off. She was wearing a khaki short skirt for once and some high boots with a good sized heel. Was she feeling super femme today or just wanted to try a new style? Either way, she's looking really cute. Virgil chuckled as she struggled to sit down. She is a short little thing, ain't she? That's precious.

"You're just going crazy with the cute factor today, aren't you Patty? Don't tell me you're trying to impress someone else. That'd break my heart."

"Oh no, Virgil. I'm trying to impress you!"

Virgil's face went entirely pink, and he didn't even sip his tea yet! He was just trying to play around and tease her, but apparently she was doing all the this to impress him? Wow, that's a big surprise. And why him? Great, now Virgil's getting his hopes up! Virgil's heart started beating really fast and his cheeks felt like they were sunburnt after spending five hours under the hot sun in Corpus Christi. Not just Florida, but Texas hot. And that's saying something since Texas has a dry heat and Florida's a humid hot.

"Wait, impress me? Why? I'm not exactly that great and I don't think I've done anything to deserve this kind of honor, Patty...."

"I'm quite offended at you sir! You are amazing and I wanted to show off to you! Just accept that compliment! You are so sweet to me and always talk to me! You don't make me feel like an alien and accept me for who I am. You being so open with me about your bisexuality helped me feel comfortable to tell my parents about me being Panromantic and Genderfluid! I haven't explained asexuality yet because they hung up when I tried to explain but that's fine! The point is that you're amazing and special and you Definately deserve me trying to impress you!"

Patton smacked his arm and then began to hug on it during the span of that little rant. Wow. That's a lot to soak in. Virgil took a long sip of the tea to calm himself. First of all, Patton literally just went on about how much she cared about Virgil and How much he meant to her. If that's ain't enough, to have your crush go on basically about how much they love you, to blush then you're a cold hearted monster. Second, this is too much. Virgil felt like he's gonna explode. He needs some ice. He needs a moment to process everything but noooo Patton just had to go ahead and put the cherry on top:

"Virgil, I do more than just care about you. I love you. So please don't talk bad about yourself. Your compliments, your happiness, and the stories you tell me... I want that. I want it all for myself. I love it when you can me cute and handsome and notice the little things and even when you come in really anxious and jittery or need my help dealing with a panic attack. I love everything about you, so why can't you start loving some things? Please?"

Virgil stared at her, leaning on his shoulder and looking forward at nothing in particular. The shop was empty, due to fanfiction magic, and the music softly wrapped a warm feeling of fuzziness and love around him. Not an anxiety feeling, but a love feeling. Virgil took a deep breath, pushed back some of Patton's bangs she curled specifically today to be super adorable, and pressed a kiss onto her forehead letting her know that she is Definately loved back.

"Well, if you love me so much then you're just going to have to become my significant other and show me all these things you love about me. But that also means I get to show you all the things I love about you. Do we have a deal, Patty?"

Patton lifted her head and stared Virgil in the eyes, twinkling and grin growing bigger and bigger. She Definately wanted to tackle Virgil to the ground in a hug, but if she took the barstools with her she'd be in bad juju. So she settled in for falling forward softly into his chest, taking a big whiff of his hoodie that she knew she was going to steal the second she went over to his house for the first time, and giggled.

"Deal, baby."

The petnames only made the blush worse~

Okay, so advice: Love yourself. Start being an optimist. Like, yeah. You're going to have flaws. You're going to hate yourself. But not everything Is negative. That's not possible. There's gotta be at least one thing you like. Examples could be physical: eyes, hair, laugh, exetera. Examples could be psychological: sense of humor, way you think things through, way you organize, way you deal with people, etc. there's gotta be at least one thing you like about yourself. Start focusing on the positive rather than the negative. And don't worry. I have to work on this too. We can work on it together, family.

Internet hugs and blow kisses!
