In Regards To Love [Loceit] (Tattoo Artist AU)

I always make excuses for Deceit's scales in human/moder AUs. Just a heads up for those who don't know.

Also I decided to go ahead and upload early before I finished all 19 drafts. Sorry.

STORYTIME!

Dee was a tattoo artist. They own a shop next to his stepbrother's flower shop. Patton had always been supportive of their dreams and ambitions. Patton helped Dee get on their feet after their own parents abandoned them for being simply who they are. Dee had become well known thanks to Patton and has a healthy enough business that they're working on hiring more employees, expanding the building, and maybe moving out of their tiny apartment to build a house and maybe think about dating.

Dee had tattoos all over the left side of their face. They tattooed themself, despite the pain, because they didn't want anyone to see the scars and bruises they got from their parents when they ran away. They also covered their arms with many designs, on their right side everything is floral and nice while on the left side it's more destructive and reptilian. Like their face. They made a scale design all over the left side of their face. Normally they wore long sleeves or something over their left arm when wearing any sleeveless or short sleeved shirts.

That should be enough backstory for now. Let's get into our story, shall we? Wow, this is a pattern within my works. I need to stop doing this sort of writing. An exposition for two paragraphs ain't exactly the best thing... R.I.P. fourth wall.

Dee turned when he hears the bell chime over the front door, letting them know they had a customer. There was a man who visits Patton every month on the twenty eighth to buy a bouquet. This was Logan Crofters, and all the flowers that he buys goes to the grave of his dead grandmother. He has once came to Dee's tattoo parlor to get a tattoo that read Rest In Peace Selena Crofters on his upper back. They have become decently aquatinted

"Salutations, Logan."

"Salutations, Dee. Would you mind if I get my arms tattooed? Both of them in one session?"

Dee pursed their lips. Normally they make their customers have to wait another day to get the second arm done due to the fact that Dee is the only one on staff as of now. However, Logan is a special person who has grown close to them and Patton. Nobody else was here or had any preplanned tattoos planned so.. perhaps...?

"Of course, since you are a family friend I do not mind. Take a seat and then describe to me what you'd like."

Logan nodded, rolling up his sleeves all the way up and over his shoulders. He was tanned all the way through. He also had muscle, no fat, and was clearly working out his upper body. Dee was obliged to look away for now. Not because of Logan's general modesty, but in shame for their own thoughts. Logan sat down in the chair and waited for Dee to get over themselves and get the tattoo pens. Logan cleared his throat and began describing a general image that he wanted the artist: Dee to permanently draw into his skin.

"Along my left arm a long piano, with music bars weaving around it with the occasional orchestral instrument. I do agree, it's a complex design, however I know you are talented enough to do it. Oh, and in the center I want you to write In Regards to Love: Agape. Is that sufficient or should I show you the drawing my friend Roman did of the design?"

Regardless of whatever answer Dee said, Logan pulled out his phone and showed Dee the image. That is definitely doable. It only needed black, silver, and a mahogany brown. Maybe gold accents. Dee got the pen revving to go, since it's black ink by default, and looked at Logan's arm. They was trying to get the spacing for the design down in their mind, but mostly was admiring that arm and kinda feeling guilty about wanting to feel his muscles.

Nobody entered the shop as a customer. After the out,one of the piano was done and the Black Keys were filled Patton did come in and see Logan. There was a conversation started between the two as Dee labored over Logan's sexy arm. They did enter a few words into their discussion, but mostly focused on the Agape design. Patton left as Dee was filling in the Violins and Avila's with the mahogany brown.

"Dee, I have a quick question. Do you have any idea what the word Agape means?"

"No. Why ask?"

"Agape is one of the seven Greek words that mean a different kind of love. Agape and Eros are expressed in the anime Yuri On Ice through ice skating by two of the three main characters. Agape is purity and innocence, while Eros is more of a sensual and sexual love. That would be my other arm's design. I would have had you write in the original Greek Words, however I felt it might be overstepping my boundaries as the customer."

"I have an outline of the word, but I could try to have the Latin Characters inside of that  in gold while the original word is silver. I made the font large enough."

"Actually, that wouldn't be most desirable. Thank you so much."

Dee went to work on that, after filling in the cellos on the ends of the design. They went to fill in the entire outline of the word agape and then asked Asked for the Greek characters. Logan held up his phone as Dee made a golden outline and filled it in. It took a long time, maybe two hours going on three, but it's fine. Nobody else entered the store since that conversation (except Patton bringing Dee their sandwiches for lunch ) so that meant they could work on the second arm. However...

"Thank you for the service, Dee. However, I wish to not take up any more of your time. I should have expected that the designs would take a while."

"Relax, it's okay. I don't mind getting the other arm done. The backstory is really cool and you're a family friend. Besides, you can pay me back for this later~"

Dee instantly panicked when they said this. What were they thinking?! It was probably the buff and the love related messages that made Dee want to go on a date with him. Dee lifted their pen off of his skin, putting it on the little rolling table that all the different colored inks and stuff are. Logan was confused and paused for a moment. Then he noticed Dee's eyes locked onto the Agape on his arm and he understood, even laughing a little bit at how cliché it is.

"Ah, so in extange for the service and extra time spent you want me to accompany you on a 'date', right? If you had just asked I would have accepted regardless of the scenario."

"Wh- Wait Really?"

"But of course. With all the positive anecdotes about you that I hear about second hand from Patton I have an interest in you. With that settled, shall I show you the Eros Design?"

Dee stood there with their jaw dropped. Logan just kept smirking in victory as he opened up the art and showed it to Dee, making sure to use the already tattooed arm to hold his phone. So to make a very ironic ending to this fanfic...

in regards to love: Dee had succeeded.
