"Trust me, I get it. I do. Just keep breathing and you'll be fine. You got this, Champ."

Virgil held his boyfriend's hands as the show went on. Roman was out for this scene, and his next cue was a ways away, but Roman was dying inside. He was near crying but he can't because his expensive-ass foundation was forty eight freakin dollars. He was squeezing his boyfriend's hands and mumbling about how he messed up a line and barley improvised it. Virgil hardly noticed the difference. He covered it up really well! But the part that had him worried was Roman exoeriencing anxiety. Roman never has anxiety. So it's up to his boyfriend to help him calm down for his next big scene.

"Babe, you did fine. You were an improv KING out there. I know you got this. I know you can be ateonf and be the best actors in the entire school. We just need to breathe and smile. We need to calm down. Can you do that, Sugar?"

Affectionate pet names always get Roman to calm down when he's mad, so maybe they'll work when he's anxious too? Virgil just knows his breathing exercises for his anxiety and normally has a fidget cube. But the cube is in his bag back at home and he was backstage because he helped the makeup department. Virgil's a pretty handy man backstage. Roman nodded slowly, trying to calm his breathing down. Wow, flubbing up a single line really messed him up did it? No worries. He needs to get thst through his thick skull. No worries.

"I love you, Roman, and I know you're doing great. Do you need a kiss to help calm you down?"

Virgil teased, playing around with how much of a hopeless and dopey romantic his boyfriend was. Roman nodded ecstatically, being melodramatic like always. Virgil breathed out a laugh and rolled his eyes, sitting down on Roman's lap and leaned forward to give him a gentle peck on the lips. Kisses of reassurance are the sweetest, aren't they? Roman started at him, as if waiting for more. Virgil sighed and kissed his forehead, both cheeks, and his nose. Can't leave anything else can he?

Roman cleared his throat. Virgil nearly forgot. Roman needs a kiss on the lips again to seal the deal. Virgil went for a peck, but Roman held him close and didn't seem to want to let him go. Jeez, he's going to mess up his makeup! Then nobody was going to be happy! Virgil manages to pull away without disturbing Roman, who fluttered his eyes open to lovingly gaze at Virgil. What mattered is that his breathing was steady. They had maybe a few moments before Roman's cue. Virgil looked around.

"Is something wrong, Virgil?"

"Your makeup. You need to get fixed up before you go on stage. You're a mess right now and I have no idea where the box is and who took it...."

Roman stood up, scouring the backstage with his eyes. No sign of that box. Roman didn't mind too much. It was worth it to get a kiss from his beloved Virgil~ But he knew that it would mean a lot to Virgil considering he hasn't done much makeup for a show. Roman didn't have anything with him, but he had an idea. He took a water bottle and splashed some in his hand, leaning his head back to slick his hair back. That fixed the messy friz problem. Now what to do about his gorgeous face?

"Roman what the actual Heck are you doing?"

Roman found a highlighter thing that makeup people use on the eye to make your face stand out. He scribbled some on his eyelids and under his eyes like a non-professional and then pressed his lips together to thin out his lip gloss. Tadaaa! He's fixed! Roman listened out to the stage. His cue was coming up. Roman, feeling quite accomplished with himself, gave his boyfriend a kiss on the cheek.

"Wish me luck."

"Break a leg, pretty boy."

Roman walked out onto the stage, confident with himself and ready to become his character. Virgil watched him be amazing from behind the curtain, wondering how in the name of whatever god he believes in he managed to get such a catch. Virgil felt a tap on his shoulder and the urged around to see the director (theater class teacher) standing behind him with a proud smile on his face. Virgil rose an eyebrow, confused on what she wanted. Ms. Christine decided to give Virgil a little praise and maybe some advice.

"Be careful with him, Virgil. The boy you got is overzealous and very clingy. It's going to be hard to reel him in and keep him happy, but I can see how he makes you feel. Keep it up, Tiger."

Virgil nodded earning such words from Ms. Christine is a huge compliment. Virgil felt really nice and warm and fuzzy inside as he looked away from the director and our to his boyfriend doing his very best and having a good time. Overzealous, yeah that's a perfect word for him. But he's also chivalrous and kind and considerate and strong. He's so worth it. Virgil smiled as Roman began singing his song. Virgil has never been so proud.
