we walk in and Abby isn't here

"where's Abby?" Kenzie asks

"where is she?" Brooke asks

"she ditched us in Jersey maybe she didn't come home." Christi says

"who thinks Miss Abby is going to apologise for leaving us stranded" Kelly asks

"oh god no." Christi says

"she never apologises" Paige says

"maybe she's in the ladies room." mom says

then Abby walks in

"does anyone feel a black cloud approaching? what's the weather forecast?" Christi says

"so uh i guess it's welcome back, New York City didn't exactly worked out as i'd hope." Abby says

"Chloe congratulations you were our winner" Abby says to Chloe

"you didn't only win for yourself but you won for the Abby Lee Dance Company you won for me for my name and my reputation so that was good." Abby says

"thank you." Chloe says

"uh Holly you were quite upset with me um i think you assumed that i was upset because Maddie ran off the stage.. and you're absolutely right and that's why i left." Abby says to Holly

Maddie looks down

"as their coach as their teacher they all deserve a hug." Holly says

"Nia had you! she went to you when she forgot her dance." Abby says

"why don't you be the adult and the leader and console them first" Christi says

"you yelled at Paige and told her she was stupid and when Maddie does it it's oh you forgive her and it's okay and it's not her fault!" Kelly says

"no." Abby says

"i think the case and point is we know that you don't care." Christi starts

"some kids are just special!" Abby yells

my head shoots up she really said that infront of all of us

"enough! my time is very valuable i did not call you in to discuss this we're talking about this week, you are going to next star competition in LA and those little kids are good and you all know that." Abby says

"so let's start with the pyramid, Paige." Abby says

i look to Paige and back

"the one thing we talked about is soon as we got the props you have to handle that prop you're responsible for that prop you can't let it get away from you as soon as you started the competition the prop went right away from you." Abby says

"Nia, when we were rehearsing the number you wore a bikeatard and the entire rehearsal you pulled it back and pulled it back and pulled it back you can't concentrate on what you're doing." Abby says

"Brooke, we get to the joffrey everyone runs in with their pointe shoes and you're not gonna do pointe so they're looking at that as if wait a minute her ankle should be strong enough to go on pointe" Abby says

"next we have Maddie, you know your sister wouldn't go out there and forget her dance."

i look to Maddie as she nods

"moving up i have Mackenzie, Mackenzie you should be proud of yourself you're this high on the pyramid it's your charisma it's your face that are moving the audience." Abby says to Kenzie

"next Kayla, you had a beautiful ballet solo but i think you were to over your head that performance was not as clean as it should've been and i know you can do it. i think you have over worked yourself and you need a break so this week no new solo okay?"

"okay." i nod

"and Chloe congratulations you are on top of the pyramid you're gonna be featured in the group number" Abby says

"we have Chloe doing a solo we also have a solo with Mackenzie and i entered a solo for Maddie but i'm not gonna have her do it she needs to get her head on straight." Abby says

"and my trio is gonna be Chloe, Brooke, Paige" Abby says

"and i need you to be on fire on that stage, the group number is called I want it now can i hear you all say that" Abby says

"i want it now!" we all say

"pressure is on when we get to that competition and you walk into that auditorium you are up here do you understand? yes?" Abby says

"yes" we all say

"moms thank you very much you are dismissed girls let's go." Abby says

"and shoulder shoulder while you're sitting there" Abby says

"that its the beat" Abby says

we do the shake

"i gave you a pose." Abby says to Chloe

Chloe does the pose

we run through the number

"arms Chloe!" Abby says

"Kayla that's not a switch leap!" Abby says as i did my leap

"posture when you roll!" Abby says

"arms are behind you!" Abby says to Maddie

|Group Rehearsals|

"girls get on the floor start to roll just Nia." Abby says

"turn this way." Abby says

we get halfway through the routine

"Boom! Chloe you're up tall big this has to be all about you let's go." Abby says

we finish the routine and i head to my tap private with David

"haven't seen you in a while" he says when i go in

"hi." i smile

"okay let's get right into it" he says

we go over steps and we learn a new tap solo entitled Dream it and make it big
he's added a lot of turns because he wants me to get better with turning in my tap shoes

i do the last turn sequence

"woah! where did that come from?" he says as i finish

"you bobbled on all those turns expect for that one well done you you're getting better." David says

"thank you." i smile

"turn boom!" Abby says to us

"get in that releve!" Abby shouts

"no judge wants to see you bang your knee on the floor ready girls? go." Abby says

"and hit!" Abby says to us

"push!" Abby says

"turn go!" Abby says to Chloe

"Kick come on!" she screams again

"you're late Chloe you can't be late." Abby says

"i'm telling you the pressure is on you, you can't screw that whole thing up." Abby says to Chloe

"you're guessing and you need Kayla to tell you what to do" Abby says

"that's the problem you need to know the music" Abby adds

|Competition Day|
"okay what's first do we know?" Kelly asks

"solos." Christi says

"no trio." Christi then says

"okay guys listen you need to get fired up you need to get out there" Abby says

"Maddies solo is still entered" Chloe whispers to me

"huh? how?" i ask

"i don't know" she says

Abby calls Maddie over

"i don't know how you do so many routines every week it's so stressful" Chloe says

"i know it's so stressful" i say

the trio is up first so we go the audience to watch Chloe Brooke and Paige

"Put your hands together for girls in the house!" the announcer says
the trio starts to perform and they are cute i think they did a nice job expect Paige forgot to kick and i know Abby is gonna yell at her
the trio finish and they exit and we cheer for them

we head back to the dressing room and i hug Chloe

"Paige you know you forgot a step." Abby says

Paige nods

"you did." Abby says

Paige nods again

"what happened?" Abby asks

Paige shrugs and tries not to laugh

"well don't laugh it's not funny you can't go out there and not do the choreography you were given." Abby says to Paige

"i don't think we're not gonna win because she missed a kick i think we're gonna lose because the choreography wasn't like the ones like before ours. just from what i saw from two dances and they were amazing." Kelly says

"you saw a duet? well i didn't see what you saw so i don't know alright well that's it" Abby says

"does it feel better when you win or when you lose" Abby asks Kenzie

"win." Kenzie says

"when you win so don't go out there and make any mistakes you love the dance it's cute it looks great if you don't win we'll blame it on your mother stir feet" Abby says and mom laughs

before i go to the audience i hug Kenzie

"remember to use your face and give sass to the judges okay? you'll do great Kenz" i say

"okay." she says and goes with Abby backstage

and we go to the audience

"welcome Mackenzie with if the shoe fits." the announcer says
her music starts and she's adorable
she does her back handspring and she slips and forgets her dance

"oh kenz.." i say

we head back to the dressing room and i hug Kenzie

"you were amazing Kenz!" i say

"Maddie tell her how good she was." mom says

"Melissa when you're finished with her send her over." Abby says

"okay." mom says

mom takes of Kenzies makeup

"okay go ahead." mom says

"i'm scared" Kenzie mumbles

"don't cry it's okay go ahead." mom says and Kenzie goes over to Abby

"listen to me i don't want to look at this sad horrible kid all day yes? so put a smile on your face so you're lucky accidents happen oh well yes?" Abby says

Kenzie nods

"i hate being the good guy i'd rather just yell at you for running" Abby says and Kenzie giggles

she lets Kenzie goes and grabs Maddies costume

"Maddie come out this costume on for me please." Abby says

Maddie goes and gets her costume

"if you're feeling better later on you're doing that dance i'm putting my foot down got it?" Abby says
"so keep going over it when you get the chance" Abby says

i start to do some turns because this is the most free time i've ever had

Abby takes Maddie outside assuming talking about the solo

we sit in the audience

"are you not doing it?" i ask

"no." she says

"put your hands together for Maddie with in my heart" the announcer says

"i thought she wasn't doing it?" i say to mom

Maddie goes to get up

"no no don't sit don't do it" mom says

and Maddie starts to cry

"i thought she wasn't dancing at all" i say

"she isn't" mom says

"she's sick"

"it's okay! Maddie stop honey you're sick" mom says

"she's sick" mom says

i look to Maddie in concern

Maddie cries in moms shoulder

"it's okay honey" mom says

"put your hands together for Chloe with keep burning" the announcer says
i cheer for Chloe

her solo is so nice i love watching Chloe dance
her turns were clean and i really think she might win!
she finishes her dance and we all cheer we head back to the dressing room and Abby comes in

"Kayla, how well do you know Maddies solo?" she asks

"not well" i say

"well Maddies solo is still entered and they've offered her to do it again..if Gianna learns you this solo here can i enter you for the solo" Abby asks

i look to mom

Miss Abbys asked you, you can't say no, you need to do it for her

"okay." i finally say

Abby then leaves the room to enter the solo

and Gia starts to learn me Maddies solo

"how does Abby expect her to go out and win with a solo she's just learning now?" Christi asks

"i don't know." mom says

"Melissa you're letting her kid go out there risking that she'll forget it?" Kelly asks

"Abby says she has to." mom simply says

i soon try in Maddies costume and it fits luckily

Kaylas costume and hair:

as we run through it i'm forgetting some steps

"you can't forget steps." Abby says

"Abby you can't expect her to learn a solo in ten minutes and not forget it" Kelly says

"she was there when Maddie learnt it." Abby says

a competition director comes in and says it my turn to go

Chloe comes back with me backstage

"i feel sick" i say

"i'm nervous for you." Chloe says

"i just learnt this ten minutes ago" i say

"please put your hands together for Kayla with In my heart" the announcer says

don't forget it

i enter the stage and i hear my mom cheer the most

the music starts and i just try it remember this routine with the facials
i do the best i can and i finish the routine without forgetting anything
the crowd cheers and i exit and Chloe hugs me so tight

"you just did that!" Chloe says

"i just did that" i say

we then run back to the dressing room so i can get ready for the group

group costume: (what Maddie is wearing)

we run through the group and i'm still so stressed

we head backstage and Maddie pulls me aside

"Abby told me outside that i should've done my solo for her name but instead you stepped up and did it and i always leave it to you to do." Maddie whispers

"don't listen to her it isn't your fault and i didn't really want to do your solo as i hardly knew it and i knew it would make you feel bad" i whisper back

Chloe gestures for me to come back to enter for the group

"please put your hand together for I want it now" the announcer says
or music starts and Chloe starts the routine

then we all enter and we do the routine it's sassy and i really like it 
i think we are doing well and we finish the routine i think Chloe rocked it
we exit and i hug Chloe

"you nailed that!" i say

"tenth place for eight and under solos goes to if the shoe fits" the announcer says
we clap for Kenzie

Kenzie goes to get her award and i high five her when she comes back

it's now the junior solos and i'm terrified

"top five..fifth place goes to keep burning" the announcer says

and Chloe goes up to get her award

the next awards go out and now it's just first and second now i don't think i've placed because it wasn't my best performance

"and in second place goes to in my heart" the announcer says

my mouth gapes open

and Abby cheers so loud i go up to get my plaque and i beam with pride

i just got second place with Maddies solo that i learnt in ten minutes!

we sit back down and Chloe hugs me and Maddie hugs me

the trio got third place and i high five Chloe

"9-11 small groups fifth place goes to i want it now." the announcer says

Paige goes and hers our award and i give a smile to Chloe

we head back to the dressing room

"girls i wanna talk to you you started our greta you're individual parts were wonderful as soon as you had to dance together as a group swoosh" Abby says

"okay but why can't we" Kelly says

"look at your daughter she's fourteen years old she couldn't do the parts in second knees bent!" Abby says

"okay! then work on then with her! you only give them practise with their turns" Kelly says

the fight over choreography as usual

and Holly sends us out of the room

well at least i did well?
