It's the Monday after the competition and I'm pretty nervous I lost to Maddie and Chloe Maddie came first and I came second and Chloe came first in her category Abbys not going to let me do a solo for a whole month

"Mom is Abby upset that I lost last week?" I ask

"No why would she?" Mom asks

"Because she told me I had to beat Maddie and Chloe. But I didn't they both beat me" I sigh

"Hun Abby won't be mad at you, I'm sure if you do another solo this week you'll win" Mom says

"Yeah, you were amazing out there I was pretty sure I lost when I saw you preform" Maddie says

I nod

"Let's go girls!" Miss Abby shouts

We all run in

"Come on! come on,"

We all sit down

"Vivi-Anne, where's your dance clothes?" Miss Abby asks

We all turn to Vivi

"It's in the car" Vivi says

"You need to be dressed and ready to dance when you walk in this building yes?" Miss Abby says

Vivi nods

"I'm gonna recap a little bit about the competition" Miss Abby starts

"Now there are some things that when on that maybe you don't even know about"

"Your mom was upset about the costume" Miss Abby points to Nia

"Your mom was upset about the costume before you went on stage" Miss Abby points to Chloe

"But that cannot happen again"

"Let's talk about what we're going to be doing this weekend, we're going to New Jersey and we are going to do a acrobatic gymnastic routine."

"Overall I evaluated all of your preformances so Maddie you won the competition and the title I'm going to put you back on top yes?"

first to third in one week...i wanna stay on top so i'm going to have to keep winning

i hope i can pull it off

"Brooke, I expect you to help the younger students and I expect you to know the Choreography first and be able to help everybody else" Miss Abby says

Brooke nods

"Alright Nia, Paige you will be doing the tumbling and acro part"

"Kayla you lost last week but this week that's not going to happen you are going to do a lyrical solo"

i nod

"And Vivi-Anne since your new here and you don't know all of our terminology I'm going to work privately with you this week and so you're going to do a solo at the competition this weekend"

"Alright girls let's go get up get ready to rehearse moms thank you very much Vivi don't forget you need to be in dance clothes whenever you walk in this room ready to go"

"Okay so Brooke go in the middle then Maddie go behind here but to here right then Kayla and Chloe" Miss Abby says
"Paige and Nia go here" Miss Abby points to their spots

"Mackenzie I'm going to put you in this only for a bit so you will be beside Paige" Miss Abby says

I smile at Kenz

"Abby I think we need to talk" Kelly walks in

"Watch your step" Miss Abby says to Paige

And leaves the room with Kelly

"Okay go over it from there" Gia says

We go over it again

And Chloe leaves the room for a drink so we start doing it in groups so she has time
Chloe comes back in the group before me Maddie and her have to preform the dance
She sits beside me

"Abby and Kelly are fighting over Brooke not being at the top." Chloe whispers to me and Maddie

"What why?" I say

"Because it's the week of an acro dance and Kelly's mad Maddies at the top and not Brooke" Chloe whispers

Maddie makes a face

"Isn't it about last weeks performance tho?" Maddie questions

"Yeah it is" Chloe shrugs

"Okay Maddie Kayla Chloe" Gia says

We preform it for the rest of class then Abby comes back in

"Okay Kayla your solo is lyrical it's a dark piece last week you were portraying a angel now your a demon" Miss Abby says
I smile my music is control by Hasley and i love it

"Okay start in stage middle" Miss Abby says

We learn my full dance and clean it a bit

"Good!" Miss Abby high fives me

"Now Kayla you lost to your sister last week, you can't loose again" Miss Abby says

I nod

"Okay good tomorrow we will clean it up more got it?" Miss Abby says
"Yes." I say

"Okay you can go" Miss Abby says

I leave studio A

i'm nervous i won't be able to win because it's an entirely new routine but Miss Abby wants me to win so i can't let her down.

"So girls how do you like the group?" Mom asks

"It's fine I'm just no good at it" I say

"Yes you are you looked fabulous in the dance" Mom says

"I prefer my solo it's more me" I say

"The dance is fine it's not my favourite though" Maddie says

"It's hard to keep up" Kenzie says

"Kenz your doing great!" I say

Kenzie smiles

|Two Days To Competition|
|Group Rehearsals|

We are learning new bits and the hylands aren't here yet which is worrying Abbys gonna flip when they do tho

"Kayla watch that foot" Abby says to me

"Okay go back" Abby says to Nia

then Brooke and Paige walk in

"You guys are late" Miss Abby says to them

"You two go there and warm up and look what we done so far because I did a whole bunch" Miss Abby says to them
We preform the new bit of the dance we learned so Brooke and Paige and pick it up

"Okay she's using here ankle ankle, go!" Miss Abby says

And we all go front handsprings to our finishing position

"Okay good." Miss Abby says

|Competition Day|
"Girls wake up! Competition day!" Mom says

I groan

"Bus leaves in two hours were running late" Mom says

Me and Maddie finally get out of bed and we all eat breakfast now it's a mad house getting costumes and shoes

"Ready?" Mom says

"Ready!" Maddie says

We all get to the bus on time barely

"Run!" Maddie squeals

I laugh and run

We all get on the bus and I sit beside Chloe

"Hi Chlo!" I say

"Heyyy" she says

"Okay we're all here let's go." Miss Abby says

Me and Chloe are taking selfie's and laughing overall

"Do you wanna watch victorious?" I ask

"Duh" Chloe says

"Bus driver!" Miss Abby shouts

"Oh no" I sigh

Chloe giggles

"If you go to the right we're gonna take to straights and hit the parkway." Abby shouts

We finish our episode of victorious

"Chlo! Come here let me do your makeup!" Christi says

"We don't preform another 3 hours" Chloe sighs

"Good luck" I giggle

Chloe gets up and goes to her mom

"Kayla! Do you want me to start your solo makeup then I'll do Maddie for the group?" Mom asks

"Sure!" I say and I walk up to her and she starts my makeup on the bus

"So where's your BFF Cathy today?" Kelly asks mom asks she finishes my makeup

I move from the seat beside mom to back over to Chloe

"I'm back!" I say

"Hayyy!" Chloe says

We take pictures in our makeup together because it looks odd without the costume

"I'm nervous for the group I can't do acro to save my life" I say

"Same. Just smile and be pretty" Chloe exaggerates

I laugh,

We finally get to the competition we don't even preform for another two hours

We are in the dressing room and messing about before Vivi has to go on for her bumblebee solo

"Chloe if you don't move I'll kick you in the face" i giggle

Chloe gets down into the splits as I kick up

"Good save Chlobird" I say

"Thank you thank you" she laughs

i laugh

Then These two girls walk into the dressing room

"Hi guys! Hi Melissa!" The girl says

"Hi!" My mom says

"Um I'm going to be backstage with you guys I just wanna go over a few things because we have some song titles missing" the girl says

I glance at Chloe

The titles shouldn't be missing..

"I have my pumps first and that's Vivi-Anne,right?" The girl says

"no,it's not my pumps it's called bumblebee." Miss Abby says

"Bumblebee?" The girl questions

"Whats.." Mom starts

"What? What is this?" Abby says as she takes the CD

"That's what I'm confused about..we need to..okay?" Mom says

"Uh oh" I whisper to Chloe

"Cathy!" Abby says

"Yes?" Cathy asks

"What is with this rocket music?" Miss Abby asks

"Um..Vivi was uncomfortable with the solo that we worked on because she had a lack of rehearsal time and so we're gonna go ahead and do a piece that she already knows." Cathy says

I was stunned why would you change your dance?

"I'm just gonna change this to a independent entry." Miss Abby says to the girl

"You're doing what?" Cathy asks

"Your changing it to a independent?" Cathy asks

"Yes." Miss Abby says

"She's not going to be going underneath your name?" Cathy asks

"I didn't do this number!" Miss Abby says

"But she's going to be representing you." Cathy says

"Not with a number I didn't do,and a costume I didn't design." Miss Abby says

"Okay. Can I see you outside please?" Cathy asks

They both leave the room

"Kayla let me do your hair your on an hour after Vivi" mom says

"Okay!" I say

My mom does my hair in a bun with a black headpiece

I go to get my costume on

Kaylas solo costume:

We all go down to watch vivis solo
she comes on stage and I wouldn't even call that a dance

It's time for awards for vivis solo

"In 7th place is Vivi-Anne" the announcer says

Vivi goes up and gets her award

"Who choreographed your dance?" The announcer asks,

"Cathy Nesbit Stein" Vivi says

"And what studio do you represent?" The announcer asks

"Candy apples dance centre" Vivi says

my eyes widen and i look to Paige and back to Vivi

We are all back in the dressing room and Cathy is packing up her stuff

"Alright guys were gonna head on." Cathy says

"What? You're leaving early?" Miss Abby asks

"Yes. It's a 6 hour drive" Cathy says

"But we all came early to watch Vivi" Miss Abby says

"Yeah but I have things to do" Cathy says

And she leaves i glance at Maddie and sighs

"Okay girls get ready for the group and and Kayla get warmed up for your solo" Miss Abby says
I nod

After I get warmed up Maddie Chloe and Paige come back stage with me

"Paige is Brooke okay?" Maddie asks

"Her hip hurts so it's hard for her to do the dance" Paige says

"She also doesn't wanna dance" Paige giggles

"Welcome Kayla To the stage with Demon!" The announcer calls I go on stage to my starting position and I do my dance the best I can
I finish my dance with my hand up in the air crossed over kinda touching eachother with one of my legs bent
The crowd cheers and I strut off stage

"That was incredible!" Chloe says

I hug her "thanks" I smile

"You're so gonna win" Maddie says I smile

I run back to the dressing room to get ready for the group

Group costume:

We all go back stage

"Welcome to the stage Ups and Downs" the announcer says

We all go in our starting position and Brooke does her front handspring
We do the dance I try my hardest to make it look like I'm good at acro it was a challenge but I think I pulled it off
We finish the dance and we all smile and look like Ballerinas.

We go offstage and group hug

"That was so good" Paige says

me and Maddie hug Kenzie

"You were amazing!" I squeal and hug Kenzie

"You kept up with the big girls!" Maddie high fives Kenzie

"In first place in the junior solos" the announcer starts

I squeeze Chloes hand

"Kayla with demon!" The announcer says

I smile like a big smile

"Who choreographed your dance?" The announcer asks

"Abby Lee Miller" I say

"And what studio do you represent?" The announcer asks

"Abby Lee Dance Company!" I say

"Congratulations!" The announcer says

I smile and sit back down

"I'm first place.. Ups and downs!" The announcer says

We all jump up and down

We all go and get the award and I'm squeezing Chloes hand

"Who choreographed your dance?" The announcer asks

"Miss Abby." Chloe says

"And what studio do you represent?" The announcer asks

"Abby Lee Dance Company!" Chloe says

"Miss Abby you all have great dancers up here, are you all really best friends?" The announcer asks

"Of course." Chloe reply's very sassy

I start laughing

after awards we all run back the dressing room

"Wooo!" Miss Abby says

We all hug her

"Congratulations everyone! And congratulations Kayla!" Miss Abby says
I hug my mom and now were on our way home ready for another week.
