i wonder if this how the other girls feel like?

like you know,

being set up to fail,

being compared

i feel bad, i took all of it for granted now I'm in their position

i wonder if they're glad i'm getting a taste of not being the 'favourite' i guess you could call it

not the girls of course.

the moms

sometimes they can be really nice to me, especially Christi

then the next minute they hate me, especially Christi

but maybe they'll stop hating me because i'm now like them

maybe they'll stop fighting with my mom

maybe it will be happier than feeling bad all the time

or maybe..maybe it's worse being like this

maybe i should want to be Abbys number one girl

maybe i should risk everything just to be on top.

is it worth it though?

|Pyramid|

"come on ladies let's go" Abby says

we walk into studio a for pyramid

"Alright we weren't to youngstown Ohio to intensity dance we won, we should've won you're national champions let's move onto the pyramid"

"on the bottom i have Chloe, Chloe remembering your choreography that is what you need to work on write it down maybe if you write it it'll sink in try that."

"next Nia, Nia you don't apply the corrections that's what you need to do try writing it down"

"next Mackenzie, Mackenzie i took you out of the group i gave you this cute little part to do and thank goodness it was humouress because if they had started timing our number would've been disqualified and the Abby Lee Dance Company is not going to get disqualified you will not be in the group numbers going forward not until it's appropriate for you understood?"

Kenzie nods

"next Paige, you got the featured part you had the big jump wack you could've made that fabulous but you didn't do that you were giving an opportunity and instead of running with it, it was mediocre"

"next Maddie, you were good i notice you have the Sophia hair-do how about we have the Sophia energy the Sophia turns and not worry about the hair-do"

"next Kendall, you were in the front you made a correction hundred times did you keep up with Sophia? i don't know."

"next Kayla, i gave you a shot you blew it, keep working."

i nod

"and on top of the pyramid is Sophia, kind of a giving she won the high score overall 9-11 year old and she won her entire competition she was the high score of the day"

"this weekend we will be travelling to greenberg north Carolina we will be attending dance troop challenge" Abby says

"since Brooke is not on the pyramid does that mean she's not going this weekend" Kelly asks

"well Brooke i wanna know what happened over the weekend." Abby asks

"friday i was here and then saturday i went to my moms house and on sunday i worked on a project all day" Brooke says

"so you didn't come to rehearsal sunday?" Abby asks

Brooke shakes her head

"you're fourteen you've been taking ballet class since you were six or seven years old" Abby says

"but Abby if she's going to do that like she's spent the entire week learning the number this group why wouldn't she just go with us and compete the number" Kelly says

"but that doesn't mean you don't anything dance wise all weekend" Abby says

"the group piece is entitled voyage home it's a very serious piece you will be emigrants everybody will be in the routine but Brooke who will be staying home and Mackenzie, Brooke i want to see you work to get back into this group."

"Mackenzie you will be doing a solo, my next solo will be Paige"

we clap for Paige

"my last solo goes to Kayla."

i smile

"my next routine will be a duet with Maddie and Kendall."

we clap for them

"i have one more routine and it's another duet with Kayla and Chloe." Abby says

me and Chloe smile to eachother

"moms you can head upstairs ladies spread apart start warming up" Abby says

"Brooke go over there and play the music please because i don't want Gianna like doing a lot of things at once" Abby says

Brooke walks over to play the music

"let's use Mackenzie" Abby says

we learn the group dance and Kenzie is Sophias swing.

we go from the top

"AND RUN!" Abby yells

"remember you're an emigrant coming through the desert or a boat you've been on for days and days and days" Abby says
we finish up the group rehearsals

|Solo Rehearsal|

"last week you had a big tantrum the whole week you either looked sad tired or annoyed, that's not what i want to see." Abby
says

i nod

this week my solos entitled sweet dreams and it's a contemporary solo the song is sweet dreams by aerosmith
we learn my routine and i love it, Abby is acting much more like herself

"at the end your going to on the ground with you heard head leaning at the side of your hands" Abby says

i do the ending and we go from the top

"if Sophia was here, this would be her routine im giving it to you..you got beat by Sophia by one point she's not here and i'm giving you a Sophia Lucia routine..you should win, i expect a win and if you don't, you can go give your best friend Chloe a hug because you'll be just like her." Abby says

but Chloe's talented?

"Paige back foot! three times i've told you!" Abby yells

"more acting! i don't think you guys understand that there's people with machine guns and there are crowders that want let you get out of the car like you need to be stronger i'm not i'm seeing this... be tougher! come on! don't be so weak!" Abby yells

|Duet Rehearsals|
"your duet this week is lyrical entitled I Can't Lose You, it's about not wanting to lose someone because you love them." Abby says

i smile to Chloe i love the duet and the meaning of the duet

we start to learn to duet

Chloe comes out first doing a arabesques into some turns across the floor and i come out running and hugging her
and it's such a sweet number or music is i can't loose you by isak danielson and it's such a sweet song

"okay that's looking good but i need the emotion and acting." Abby says before she dismissed us

|One Day To Competition|
we arrive at the studio and we walk in

"hello! that looks good" Abby says referring to Maddies headscarf

we walk into the dancers den

we walk into studio a and we watch Maddie and Kendall's duet rehearsal

it's cute and jazzy and i think it's really good.

|Competition Day¥
we're on the bus and me and Chloe are watching a move and it's really chill!

we did find out Sophia isn't going to be here so eek

we arrive at the competition and head into our dressing room and get set up

"girls listen up! all those people lined up in that hallway all those people screaming with excitement to see you why do you think that is? national champions so step up to the plate get it in gear and figure it out and no lazy mistakes." Abby says

the solos are up first and Christi helps me get ready while mom helps Kenzie

Kaylas solo costume with the headpiece at the back of the bun:

"all done." Christi says

"thank you." i smile

Abby runs through Paiges solo and then runs through mine

"Mackenzie you made a mockery off your entire routine with that bow falling out and doing your back handspring in the wrong direction and you have a even bigger headpiece don't let it happen again." Abby says

we head backstage and i'm pretty nervous

because this is a Sophia Lucia routine and i'm Kayla Ziegler not Sophia Lucia, but i want to go out and prove that i can win

"up next Mackenzie performing Lemonade" the announcer says

"good luck" i say quickly before she enters
Kenzie does her solo and it's so cute she nails all of her tricks and she's adorable.
Kenzie finishes and exit the stage

i hug her so tight and spin her around

"you were so good!" i say

i hug Paige before she goes on

"you'll be amazing!" i say

"up next from the Abby Lee Dance Company Paige performing i wanna dance." the announcer says
Paige enters and does her solo and it's nice i think she's doing a really nice job
she finishes her dance and exits the stage and i hug her

Kenzie hugs me before i go on

"up next from the Abby Lee Dance Company Kayla performing sweet dreams." the announcer says
my music starts and i start in the floor and i make sure i nail everything and that any turns i have is clean
i finish my routine in my ending pose
the crowd cheers and i exit the stage

we head back to the dressing room

and the moms cheer for us when we walk in and Maddie hugs me

and i walk over to mom

"you were fabulous" she says

"thank you" i smile

"hey girls nice job" Abby says as she walks in

"Paige how'd you think you did?" Abby asks

"good." Paige says

"good, i thought you were wonderful i thought it was fabulous." Abby says

"Kayla i thought you did really well, your acting was nice your turns were strong so well done."

"thank you" i say

the duet is up next so mom helps me get ready

Kayla and Chloes costume with the same bun and the headpiece at the side
Maddie and Kendall are running their duet when we walk out

"that's gorgeous i really like that costume." mom mumbles to me

"that's a big arch back Kendall" Abby says

"so Abby i have a question about you came right out and said Melissa said she doesn't want to do the duet" Jill says

"we were discussing the duet and she said i'm not too thrilled about it either that's her words" Abby says

i look at mom

"that's not what i said i said i'm not too crazy about not doing a solo is what i said." mom says

"i think everybody in this room knows you have a selective memory" Abby says

"i did not say that" mom defends

"come on Melissa how many times on the phone with me telling me this telling me that you hang up with me and call somebody else and rip all over me." Abby says

mom starts to get upset

"i've been so dedicated to that studio." mom says

"you are the person that is love the one you're with, if you're kids doing a duet with Chloe you're up Christis butt yeee! dudhdudhudhduh!" Abby says

i look down

they continue to run the duet

"Kendall turn your right foot inverted and make sure your ankle on the floor on one knee" Abby says
"squeeze your feet watch that backbend, ehhh!"

"Kay Maddies knee was bent" Jill says

"it's perched it's supposed to be bent." Abby says

"her supporting leg wasn't straight" Jill says

"okay." Abby says

"but you're too busy watching this" Jill says

"Maddie, Maddie you can take a private form miss Jill next week because your leg is not straight" Abby says

"but Abby you can say a little more to the both of them not just one the whole time, Maddies not perfect." Jill says

"i never said Maddie was perfect, if she was perfect she'd have a solo like her sister Maddies not perfect." Abby says

i look at myself in the mirror

i'm not perfect?

Abby thinks so,

maybe i am.

"do it one more time" Jill says

"can you stop please!" Kendall says

"you're making it stressful!"

"she- tell her to stop! you worked really hard for this and all she does is say you're one foot come on Kendall!" Jill says

"i gave it to her!" Abby says

"i understand that but now you're tearing her down but why!" Jill says

"i'm not tearing her down i'm correcting her foot." Abby says

"yes you are" Jill says

"Chloe Kayla go over this please" Abby says ignoring Jill

me and Chloe run over our duet a couple of corrections but nothing major

we leave the room

"girls i'm not putting up with this crap you either go out to the wings or you find another studio" Abby says

we head backstage

mines and Chloes duet is up first

"love you" i say

"love you too" Chloe says

"from the Abby Lee Dance Company let's welcome to the stage 216" the announcer says
our music starts and Chloe does her bit and i run on and hug her and then we do our routine every leap and turn is in sync and any partner work we have is amazing we finish the routine and we exit the stage

"that was amazing" i hug Chloe

"i loved it" Chloe says

"form the Abby Lee Dance Company let's welcome to the stage 217" the announcer says

Maddie and Kendall do their routine and it's really nice i actually love their routine

they finish and exit the stage

we head back to the dressing room

"nice job ladies" Abby comes in saying,

"thank you." we say

"it's okay Abby you can give corrections" Jill says

"oh you're allowing me to correct my students now?" Abby says

"you can do whatever you want i just don't want you screaming and hurting feelings before they go out onstage" Jill says

"Jill if you looked at your kid doing that dance and thought we leg was in alesapone go to the doctors because it was not." Abby says

"you need to get up off your chair and fix it hands on and show her" Jill says

"I DID!" Abby yells

"you sat right there!" Jill says

"Jill! in that studio you get your face off your phone and payed attention you have said to me if Kendall just gets her chance to dance if Kendall gets an opportunity she would dance up to that level i gave it i didn't see it." Abby says
"and you picked on her the entire week about it!" Jill says

"pick on her?" Abby asks

"yes" Jill answers

"kiss my butt!" Abby says

"no thank you" Jill says

"get over yourself" Abby says

we then get taking out for awards

"in the junior age division ladies and gentlemen our overall solos for level 2" the announcer says

"first place Lemonade Abby Lee Dance Company!" the announcer says

i clap for Kenzie and get gets up to get her award

she takes a bow and sits back down

"in our intermediate solos for level 2," the announcer says

"taking our third place is number 205 i wanna dance Abby Lee Dance Company" the announcer says

Paige gets up and gets her award

second place gets announced and i still have a chance!

"our first overall intermediate solo is number 208 Sweet Dreams Abby Lee Dance Company" the announcer says

i beam with pride and i get up to get my award

"congratulations take a bow" the announcer says and we all bow and i sit back down

Maddie hugs me

"second place in our duet/trios is I Can't Lose you Abby Lee Dance Company" the announcer says

i look to Chloe and she gets up to get our award

"and rounding out highest score drum roll please, number 217 sugar n spice Abby Lee Dance Company" the announcer says

i clap for them and Maddie and Kendall get their award

they take a bow and we head back to the dressing room

"congratulations" mom says as we walk in

we start getting ready for the group dance

Group Costume:

"congratulations ladies" Abby says

"you should all be fine without Sophia"

we've been fine without Sophia for the last two years..so yeah i think we'll be just fine

"Kendall you remember how you move into the middle where Sophia used to be." Abby says

Kendall nods

"you're not gonna screw that up you know what you're doing" Abby says

"i think the girls will be just fine doing the parts because Sophia never really did the dance" Christi says

"i know just compare her develpe point blank to Chloes" Abby says

"yes and her dance teacher from DVA taught it where you taught Chloe so her-" Christi says

"no i taught Chloe to do it correctly Chloe pikes it forward and she gets told about it every time she does it" Abby says

we head backstage to do the group number and i really hope we pull it off

we do our shake and we get ready to perform,

"please welcome to the stage Abby Lee Dance Company with Voyage home" the announcer says

we enter and we do the dance i think it goes really well all of our acting is good and then we run off while Maddie does her solo bit.

we enter the dressing room

"does anybody know who messed up?" Kelly asks

"don't throw anyone under the bus" Christi says

"yeah no don't throw anybody under the bus" Holly says

"cause Abby was like somebody must've messed something up because Abby just looked at all the moms" Kelly says

Abby walks in

"soo Christi i'm not so sure that was amazing" Abby says

"no but they're usually amazing" Christi says

"come on girls let go" Abby says

"and our first place trophy goes too voyage home the Abby Lee Dance Company" the announcer says

we get up screaming

we get our award and we get a photo

and we head back to the dressing room

"amazing Christi amazing!" Abby says

"they were amazing" Christi says

"really? you really think that because they got lucky and won" Abby says

"Kendall are you going to admit that you screwed up the whole dance up and you were off timing" Abby says

"i messed up one part not the whole dance" Kendall says

"it couldn't of been bad because they won the whole thing Abby" Jill says

"yeah you know what last week they won because of Sophia today you couldn't take your eyes of Kayla." Abby says

"some people are good soloist some people are better in a group other people choke onstage there you have it." Abby says
