we are in Hollywood for nationals and luckily i feel so much better so i'm glad i can do nationals!

|Pyramid|
we walk into the room we are using this week for pyramid

"we are in Los Angeles California Hollywood burr bank everything is here" Abby says

"i have alot to do we have exciting things happening with some of our members it's busy."

the select team and their moms walk into the room

"gangs all here." Jill says

"well not all of them" Christi says

"so you didn't wait to get called in you just trumpet in here" Abby says

"they don't follow the rules like we do." mom says

"you guys are perfect i guess i don't know." Christy says

"sorry for interrupting Abby."

"Abby what is the purpose of the select team right now?" Holly asks

"to dance to win." Abby says

"i am in it to win it absolutely it's all about the win."

"these kids have won three nationals in a row." Jill says

"i think the winds are changing"  Christy says

"a lot is riding on this..this team has never lost at nationals, you've beaten this team." Abby says

"alright let's get to pyramid."

"Chloe you didn't dance obviously last week but i hope you enjoyed the show."

"Abby i wanted to let you know that we had a doctors appointment yesterday morning and i talked to the authapirits and he cleared her to dance so she's good." Christi says

"fine." Abby says

"next we have Kayla, you were sick last week you didn't dance but i see you are feeling better and you're ready to go for nationals."

i smile and nod

"next i have Mackenzie, in the show sometimes you were amazing sometimes you were silly."

"next Nia, it was good it was strong but it wasn't what i just saw the week before you didn't live up to that expectation."

"next we have Kendall, Kendall it was your confidence your ability to get up in releve to be properly placed in the turn with your shoulders down and nail it."

"next we have Kamryn, what liked about your dancing you knew where i was and you found me."

"Maddie, i just threw her at the top of the pyramid she didn't have to dance she proved herself every number in that concert besides that the other work the other thing the other opportunities are tremendous"

"on thursday morning Maddie and Mack Z and the rest of the Abby Lee Dance Company junior elite team here will be doing a personal appearance are the hollywood and highland inside complex and you all will be there but Kayla as she as an amazing opportunity to audition for a disney channel original movie."

i smile and everyone claps

"we will be attending Intensity Dance Competition for nationals" Abby says

we all clap

"i have two group routines planned some people will be dancing twice the junior elite team will be performing a contemporary lyrical piece entitled Amber Alert, the select team will performing a routine called Hollywood Stars."

"after the past three years or having successful duets i've decided i'm going to have another one with Kayla and Chloe."

me and Chloe gasp and squeal as we hug each other so tight

everyone claps

i am so happy to have a duet i haven't had a duet with Chloe in like three months!

"your duet is lyrical and it's entitled Two Birds Of A Feather.. because you's two are the best friends of this team..you've sat beside eachother on the bus for years.. you both have been duet partners since you started competing and one got sick the other got injured you do things together."

me and Chloe smile

"now after much consideration i've narrowed it down to four soloists the first solo is going to Kendall."

we clap for Kendall

"you're doing a jazz solo and the title apply entitled my name in lights."

"the next solo we have if the foot holds up Chloe, there's no reason you can't do a solo at nationals."

we clap for Chloe

"Chloe you have a contemporary solo it's called Soaring"

"and my next solo is going to Kayla."

i beam and everyone claps

"you're doing a lyrical solo entitled Lifeboat."

i smile

"Maddie i'm going to tell you right here and now infront of everyone i don't think your doing a solo at nationals you're at Jimmy Kimmel today you're at Jimmy Kimmel all day tomorrow that gives us one day to do a solo before nationals."

"i'd love to do a solo i don't care if i have to learn it in one day." Maddie says

"she doesn't have to be there till two tomorrow." mom says

"i don't want to throw you out on that stage not being your best Maddie you are not doing a solo at nationals." Abby says

"and my last solo will be going to Kamryn."

we clap for Kamryn

"Kamryn your solo routine is contemporary it's apply titled This Is The Start."

"but keep in mind Abby that she is the only person on this team who has never done a solo at nationals ever and Nias been here since she was three." Holly says

"go somewhere else." Abby says

"Abby that is such a simple minded response." Holly says

"oh are you staying? do you wanna keep dancing? cause you don't need to." Abby says

"i'm still dancing for you there's nothing wrong about that it's just somethings are just really hard because i've been here a longer than a lot of people." Nia says

"i'm not asking for a hand out i'm asking you for something she has earned other people get leap frog and it's not right so proceed if you may but i will not be silenced." Holly says

Abby sighs "i want to put my best foot forward at nationals." Abby says

"im moving on because Maddie has to leave you have a driver in a car downstairs they are taking you over to the set to Jimmy Kimmel and performing the routine from the video Chandelier while Sia sings the music." Abby says

we all clap

"Melissa you are dismissed so take her you can go."

"okay thank you." mom says

"mind your manners your p's and Q's" Abby says

Abby hugs Maddie before they leave

"so Melissa is Kayla and Kenz with me?." Jill asks

"yep Kayla and Kenz will be good." mom says before she and Maddie leaves

"alright the select team originally i brought you in to go head to head with members of my other team i thought it would give them a little spark it was a successful experiment but next season that's all going to change next season it won't be the select team against the elite team because i will be opening a studio in Los Angeles California it's very important that we have a good showing at this competition." Abby says

Gia then walks in

"Abby um there's a huge box out here that was just delivered with your name on it can one of you guys help me get it in?" Gia asks

Tami goes and helps Gia bring the big red box in

"you know what guys we need to stay focused it's about dancing and we need to get to it so we're not gonna have anything to do with this" Abby says and shoves the box to the side

"alright i don't wanna waste anymore time."

then Ava and Jeanette walk in the door

"hi guys." Jeanette says

"oh my gosh guys.. hi" Christy says

"stalker.. now do you believe us? stalker." Jill says

"she's still apart of the team." Jeanette says

"no Abby kicked you off." Jill says

Abby calls Ava over and hugs her then she unzips Avas team jacket and takes it off her

"let's take this off." Abby says

"thank you."

"Abby." Jeanette says

"she's not apart of the team." Abby says

"we wanna be here." Jeanette says

"you were cut from the team." Abby says

"when was she cut? i was never told she was cut." Jeanette says

"shush!" Abby says

"Chloe step forward, Ava stand next to Chloe."

Ava stands next to Chloe

"Ava you're to tall for us today you're cut thank you, you can go is that clear enough for you?"

"thank you for this opportunity." Ava says as she starts to cry

"honey you're a great dancer you're going to be successful you can get away from your mother and get great training..go" Abby says

"get away from me?" Jeanette says

"yes." Abby says

"for great training? she's a beautiful dancer." Jeanette says

"i know and you're standing there speaking for her!" Abby yells

"i can't believe you came here just to put Ava through this again." Loree says

"i don't want put her through it." Jeanette says

"well you were!" Loree says

"get out!" Abby says

Ava and Jeanette leaves

"we have to go we have to get on on with this, let's go everybody out come on." Abby says

my team and moms go into a separate room to stretch

"so girls after that pyramid what do you think?" Holly asks

"going into pyramid i thought it would be the original teams split up and you don't know how happy i am that we're all together." Chloe says

"awh" Christi says

"and Chloe missed nationals last year so this is a big thing for her."

"and me and Chloe have a duet!" i squeal and jump on Chloe back

"we haven't had one in forever!" Chloe says

"and i think it's hard for me because at nationals we never had to share the opportunity and the spot for another group or team of people hearing Abby doll out all these opportunities select team gets this" Holly says

we nod

we then get called in for the group routine and Chloe and Kendall carry in the white chair we're using

we learn the start of the group routine

"that's the thing she is kidnapping you she took you she stole you she abducted you and she keeps trying to get you in this chair and you're locking her in the chair you guys are putting her here right" Abby says

"okay and try to move try to get yourself out of it."

Kenzie wiggles around in the chair

"get out fight your feet kick." Abby says

me and Kenzie are obviously sisters in in this aswell as Maddie and Nia takes Kenzie and the whole routine me and Maddie are searching for Kenzie

but Maddie will be filled in when she gets back

|Three Days To Nationals|

we are doing the group and slotting Maddie into it

and Abby is so mad with us

"this is what you did this morning?" Abby asks

"yesterday? yeah." Gia says

we go from the top of the routine

Cathy then comes into the studio with a chandelier what?

we continue on with the routine and ignore Cathy

she does eventually leave

|Solo Rehearsals|
Gia starts my solo while Abby works with the select team

it's a lyrical solo and i'm so excited

"then you're gonna lift up" Gia says

Gia teaches me the rest of my solo and i really hope i can win since i didn't win nationals last year

|Duet Rehearsals|
i have a duet with Chloe and i'm super excited the last time we had a duet was Haunted last competition season

i love the music it's Two Birds by Regina Spektor and it's like such a friendship song and it's such a good duet

we learn the duet and it has a lot of partner work  and a lot of turns and leaps i love it

"you guys are best friends and i can see that when you're doing this so put that emotion to the stage okay?" Gia says

me and Chloe nod

|Two Days To Competition|
|Solo Rehearsals|

"okay let's go from the top..now you have an audition later and i know you're nervous for it so we'll do this until you're comfortable then you can go over your material" Gia says

i nod

we go over my solo and we clean it up and i get the time to add facials to my routine

at the end i do six a la seconds into four pirouettes and i do a leap to the ground and i fall on the floor.

"okay that's good, you can go." Gia says

"thank you." i say

it's time for the Hollywood and Highland event but i'm heading to an audition so i get dropped off at my audition and the girls go down for the event

i go in and hand the directors for the movie my headshot and resume

i do my acting piece and then my singing material

and then i do the small dance combo they sent out two weeks in advance

i finish up the audition and they seemed to like me which is a good thing and if i got this job it could open so many doors for me as it would be an incredible experience.

i get picked up on the way back to the studio and apparently there was this whole dance off with CADC?

bit gutted i missed that but i hope this audition went well as i think it did.

|One Day To Nationals|
"this is it all the work that you have put in up to this point has prepared you for nationals alright group routines we have Amber Alert i'm nervous about it, it's about a little girl being kidnapped and it's just chilling just the title should get the audience attention is it haunting is chilling you get it on your phone you're routine is not chilling your routine is a hot a mess right now" Abby says

we nod

"hollywood stars you need to be flawless you're at your first national competition with the ALDC could be your last if your group wins then i'm sure we have a future together if not it was good while it lasted, Kamryn step forward, Chloe step forward, Kayla step forward, Kendall step forward." 

we all step forward

"you have solos tomorrow, Kamryn you lose consider yourself out..Kendall you have been in Maddies shadow for quite sometime if you go out there and nail that number then maybe you will see your name in lights, Chloe i suggest you get infront of a mirror and you work on your confidence and Kayla this season has been a bit rocky for you.. is it because Maddie beat you last year and Chloe the year before? or is it because you are currently in your sisters shadow..you need to go out there a prove that you are not in anyone's shadow and hey if this audition comes to light you do not want to be a second place dancer."

i nod

"okay step back in line."

we step back in line

"Abby is there any other soloist?" Holly asks

"well Maddie started a solo..Maddie do you want to do a solo?" Abby asks

"yes it's good that they're doing a solo and i'm happy for them but i wanna do a solo too." Maddie says

"well i think it should be the four girls get the solo." mom says

"no i just want a chance for the other girls."

"oh." Christi says

"i think you're back peddling a little bit i just remember when you were more concerned with her future then your friendships
and how everyone else felt." Abby says

"i thought there were only four solos i think the issue is that there was only four solos to be given." Holly says

"i just have a lot to think about my main priority is hollywood stars and Amber Alert it just not where it needs to be and we're competing tomorrow this is it nationals are one day away..Cathys here and we cannot lose alright so go warm up."

my team and moms go into a different room to stretch

"Kayla come here." mom says

i get up and go to mom

"look what i just got sent." mom says

"what?" i ask

she turns around her phone and it's my seventeen cover!

i gasp

"oh my gosh!" i say

the cover:

i show the girls and they all congratulate me

"i'm so proud of you." mom hugs me

|Group Rehearsals|
"this is it the last time you're gonna do these in a rehearsal studio." Abby says

"this number should bring everyone not maybe to tears but like haunted like oh my god did the Abby Lee Dance Company just do what we think they did..yeah we did."

we go from the top of the routine and i do my partner work with Kenzie

i make sure my emotion is amazing because i have to act like my sister actually got kidnapped

Abby keeps correcting and correcting and correcting and correcting us

it's not looking good

"you know what Maddie and Kayla, why don't you both go in the other room and work on your solos." Abby says
i look to Maddie and we both leave the room

"okay do the solo, i wanna see" i smile

Maddie does her solo

"i really like that." i say

"thanks." she says

"let me see yours."

i do my solo and Maddie claps

"if you lose again this year i'll cry for you." Maddie says

"i hope i win because i haven't won in two years." i say

Abby calls us back into the rehearsal room and then my mom storms in

"i'm just sick and tired of all this sh*t i just wanna take my kids and go to nationals i'm so over this!" mom says and storms out.

we are going from the top of the duet

"you guys are best friends show me that!" Abby calls out

we do our turn section and then at the end Chloe lays on the floor and i stand up and look at her as i walk off

"okay you're good, just straight legs and emotion and if you don't win.." Abby says

we nod

i get a break then i head into for my solo rehearsal

|Solo Rehearsal|
"let me see this babe." Abby says

i do my solo from the top and make sure my emotion is really good

i end my solo and Abby claps

"beautiful..now you didn't win last year or the year before, one winner is out of the game you only have Chloe to worry about but you'll win and if you don't..chopping block." Abby says

i nod

"okay you can go." Abby says

"thank you." i say

|Nationals|
we arrive at the competition and i really hope i do good today

we get out and everyone is just holding an apple in the air?

me and Chloe walk in hand in hand

and we just look around

"it feels like some cult?" Chloe whispers

i snicker

"candy apples cult rise!" i mock

Chloe laughs

we head into the dressing room and it's nice and big

i start getting ready for my solo

Kaylas solo costume with the clip at the back of the hair and with half soles:

"i think they're doing chandelier..Kendall says she heard the music walking by their door." Jill says

i look up to Jill confused

"in the programme book it says they're doing chandelier." mom says

"oh my god i'm gonna get sick to my stomach." Abby says

Abby and mom then leave the dressing room

then they come back and Abby takes Maddie to the hall

then they come back in

"alright this is the Abby Lee Dance Company introduction to the west coast you can't get on the stage and choke this is nationals this is it." Abby says

"so Maddies not dancing?" Jill asks

"she said not to do that." Abby says

"yeah of course." Maddie says

"she would never do that" mom says

we then head backstage for the solos and Kendall is up first

"good luck" i say

Kendall enters the stage for her solo

she nails her turns and she is absolutely nailing this solo

like fully nailing it

she finishes her solo

and exits the stage

i give her a huge hug "that was incredible"  i say

i then run over to Chloe

"good luck, you're amazing i love you so much" i say to Chloe and hug her

"love you" she says quickly

Chloe enters for her solo

her music starts and she starts her solo

she's such a good dancer and Abby just didn't give her that choreography she needs to win but she's nailing it and she's amazing

she finishes her solo and exits the stage

i give her the biggest hug

"that was amazing." i say and i kiss her cheek

Kamryns solo is up next and she enters for her solo and her music starts and her solo is amazing and her costume is gorgeous
she's definitely going to be competition

Kamryn then walks back and she falls

i gasp

she recovers and she finishes her solo

she exits the stage and i shake my nerves off

Chloe comes over and hugs me

"good luck love you." she says

"love you too" i say

"please welcome to the stage entry number 32 Lifeboat." the announcer says

i enter the stage and get into my starting position

my music starts and i out my all into this solo

i haven't mad many solos this season and i need to make this one count

i make sure to turns are clean and my technique is flawless

i do my ending of my solo and the crowd cheers

i get up and exit the stage and Chloe runs over and hugs me

we head back to the dressing room and me and Chloe start getting ready for the duet

"Kamryn come here what were you doing out there?" Abby asks

"you had an amazing routine what did you do?"

"i fell." Kamryn says

"you fell? but you covered it nobody knew these tears that are here these tears are what you need to use when you're doing a lyrical routine" Abby says

mom sees in my headpiece

the duet costume with the same bun and a feather headpiece:

"Kayla and Chloe, you haven't had a duet in a few months dont blow it." Abby says

we both nod and we head backstage

"we can do this, we've danced together for years" Chloe says

"yes, we just have to think of happy memories as we are doing this routine because you've been my best friend since the start" i say

"i love your forever and always." Chloe smiles

"forever and always." i smile

i hug Chloe

"please welcome to the stage Chloe and Kayla with Two Birds Of A Feather." the announcer says

me and Chloe enter the stage and we start the duet

we are so in sync i think we are nailing this

on the line 'one more or one less nobodies worried'

i go behind Chloe and then do a aerial from behind her

we do a small turn section then to the floor and we cross or pinkies like we are making a pinkie promise and we pull away to a big turn section

at the end i do a leap and i start to walk away while looking back at Chloe and Chloe lays on the floor

i exit the stage and i hear the crowd cheering and then Chloe exits

i hug her so tight

"that was my favourite number ever." i whisper

"that felt so good" Chloe smiles

we then head back to the dressing room and get ready for the group routine

group costume with the bow at the side of the bun:

one of the candy apples moms comes in playing chandelier and we all just stare

"how do they think that's okay?" Abby asks

"they're trying to piss us off" mom says

Maddie then walks over and starts doing the actual routine

we all clap for her after she finishes and i give her a high five

"girls line up let's go!" Abby calls

"thirteen weeks in a row you won till these guys showed up i want a team of number ones.. select team if you're not the overall high score winners of this entire competition i don't really need you..girls let's go."

we head backstage for the group routines and i hope we pull this off

Candy Apples enter for their group and they start their routine and it's so stupid it isn't fair on Maddie it's her song

"honestly think you should just go out and do the number" i whisper to Maddie

"tempted." Maddie smiles

they finish their routine and they exit the stage

the select team enter the stage for their group routine and their routine is very good i just hope we pull our routine off
they finish their routine and exit the stage

"continuing on with the competition is Amber Alert" the announcer says

we all enter the stage

and we all start then routine then Kenzie comes on and me Maddie and Kenzie do our part then Nia grabs Kenzie for the routine me and Maddie have to try to find her and i make sure my emotion shows that

at the end we find Kenzie on the chair and i smile and lift Kenzies head to see her 'dead' i gasp and i look back to Maddie in shock and she looks at me and then to the audience i turn back to Kenzie and i start shaking her
then i wail "NO" i scream and i lean on the chair and i fake cry

Maddie then drags me of Kenzie and drags me off stage while i'm kicking and screaming

when we leave the stage and Kenzie gets dragged offstage by Nia

the audience is silent then they start to cheer and clap and i beam

we all run round of eachother and hug

"we're gonna start off by acknowledging our top ten scoring solos of the entire competition" the announcer says

i take Chloe and Maddies hand

i need to win

"in ninth place help me congratulate miss Kendall with act number 28 my name in lights from the Abby Lee Dance Company."
we clap for Kendall she did so good i don't know how she got ninth

"now ladies and gentlemen we actually had a tie between fifth and sixth place..sixth place with a score of 278.4 points fifth place had that same score but a higher technique score so at this time join me congratulating in sixth place miss Kamryn act number 26 this is the start"

we clap for Kamryn

i squeeze Chloes hand

"in fifth place join me congratulating miss Chloe with act number 29 Soaring from the Abby Lee Dance Company."

i clap for Chloe and she gets her award

the next places get announced and it's still not me

Maddie squeezes my hand

"our overall high score of the day also being crowned miss energy with a score of a perfect three hundred points"

my eyes widen and everyone looks shocked

Maddie looks to me

"please help me congratulate miss Kayla with act number 32 Lifeboat."

i gasp and i just start to cry

i just did that a perfect score

Maddie screams and hugs me

i get up and i get my trophy banner and crown and i see my mom crying and Abby cheering

"congratulations Kayla.. what's the name of your studio?"

"Abby Lee Dance Company." i smile

"congratulations take a bow" the announcer says

we all take a bow and we sit back down

i wipe my eyes and Maddie hugs me and so does Chloe

"moving into our duo/trios."

i take Chloes hand

the top nine are announced and i hope we won

"our overall duet/trio is Two Birds Of A Feather, Abby Lee Dance Company."

me and Chloe smile and we get up to get our award

i give her a huge hug and i kiss her on the cheek before we sit down

"moving into our highest scoring group routines of the entire competition."

i take Maddie and Chloes hand

"fifth highest group routine act number 65 chandelier"

i smile to Chloe and squeeze her hand

"in second place join me in congratulating act number 61 Hollywood stars from the Abby Lee Dance Company."

i squeeze Maddie and Chloes hand

"our top spot..ladies and gentlemen with a score of 286 points your national champions act number 63 Amber Alert"

we get up cheering and i hug Chloe

we get our trophy and i smile to Maddie

we won!

we did it!

four nationals in a row!

"congratulations again to our highest scoring group routine!"

we start to head back to the dressing room

"i got a perfect score!" i beam to Maddie

and she hugs me

"well done you deserved this." Maddie smiles

and Chloe comes over and hugs me

"i love you" Chloe smiles

"i love you too and you did amazing." I say

Chloe smiles then we hear screaming and it's between Abby and Christi

"go get your kids eye fixed!" Abby yells

"HOW DARE YOU!" Christi yells

a producer then directs us to a different room and i immediately hug Chloe

a producer comes in and lets us go to the dressing room

we head into the dressing room

"good job guys!" mom says

i run over to mom and she hugs me

i then see Chloe crying again so i walk over to her

and give her a hug

they start to pack up their stuff

"are you leaving?" i ask

"yeah." Christi nods

"are you going to be back next season?" i ask

Christi turns to me

"no i don't think so Kayla.." Christi says

i just look to Christi in shock..

"really?" i ask and i get choked up

"you have been such a great kid and i love you but this isn't for us anymore Kayla." Christi says

i nod

Christi gives me a hug

i turn to Chloe and i hug her and we both cry

"i'll miss you so much." i whisper

"i'll miss you too." she whispers

"i love you forever and always." i whisper

"forever and always." Chloe whispers

i let go of her and Christi and Chloe leave the dressing room.

"let's go Chlo." Christi says

i bite my lip to stop me from like fully sobbing

i wipe my eyes and turn back to Maddie and i walk over to her

we get out of our costumes and i put my banner over my jacket and out my crown back on my head

Abby enter the dressing room

"wow..the select team did its job yes? you pushed the junior elite competition team to the next level and now today after that victory onstage it's clear they pushed right out the door..goodbye." Abby says

the select team pack up their stuff and leave

"who do i take to LA? figure out what you want cause i have to figure out what i want and i only want the girls that want this, i can make you a star or i can cut you." Abby says

we nod

we pack up our things and Abby calls me over

she hugs me so tight

"a perfect three hundred no one more deserving, congratulations" Abby says

"thank you" i smile

we get out things and we leave the competition.

i won nationals!

this season wasn't easy and next season it's just gonna get harder..

i'll miss Chloe, i don't wanna do this without her.

i've never did this without her even before Dance Moms

it was always Kayla and Chloe,

now its just gonna be Kayla..

that's it! my last chapter with Chloe..it's a sad one because i've loved having Chloe on this book and developing her friendship with Kayla and i know you'll miss Chloe aswell!!
