last week was really good but i really hope i have a solo this week

we all head to studio A for pyramid

"Girls comes on let's go! let's have a big round of applause" Miss Abby says

we all clap

"now the group won they won the overall but you know what? that was one competition for this week we are going to starbound in new jersey you walk into starbound you need to be those national champions alright,"

"on the bottom Nia, simply because of the mistake in the choreography and that dance is easy it's simple."

"next i have Kendall you need to learn to read music and you need to learn to hear the music,i'm gonna keep her on probation until i hand her that jacket she's still proving herself."

"Paige i've seen you do the press better i'm giving you the benefit of the doubt i thought you did a nice job."

"Mackenzie, this week you are not in the group you are going to do a solo."

"alright, next i have Maddie." Miss Abby says

"you were the highest scoring number in the entire competition why do you think your not on the top? i want you to stop resting on your loyrals i want you to keeping improving for the next 20 years not for one competition do you understand? so you impress them i want you to impress me."

"next i have Kayla." 

i bite my lip

"you didn't have a solo last week, Maddie did so why are you above her? you were clean in the group dance musical theatre is really your thing that's why you're here i want you to keep improving alright?"

"yes." i say

"next i have Chloe, you didn't do a solo last week you were great in the group people are recognising you from the video but i want them to recognise you for your dancing understood?" Miss Abby says to Chloe

"and on top of the pyramid this week is Brooke you went out there you proved yourself i mean you went from worst to best in one week you're the oldest person in the group you need to be the role model and that needs to continue."

i smile to Brooke i'm so happy for her

"Mackenzie you're doing a routine called my parade and it's all about you kiddo you're going to march out from that corner like you're the leader of the big parade." Miss Abby says to Kenzie

"Maddie this week you're going to be doing a jazz routine to lights camera action"

"Kayla you are going to be doing a sassy jazz routine called greatest show."

i smile

"Chloe you're doing a lyrical routine to don't catch me." Miss Abby says to Chloe

"Chloes so happy she's having a lyrical solo" Maddie says

and Chloe laughs

"now the group dance that everybody's in expect Mackenzie is born to dance and it's about a child being born there's a little mystery to it, Brooke you're going to be featured but you should be the glue that's holding it together and Kayla has been the glue holding it together, you need to be the most advanced one in the group not looking around to see what these three are doing understood?" Miss Abby says then referring to me Maddie and Chloe

"Brooke don't let me down. Moms please go girls stretch out."

we learn the routine and we go over it

"that's what i want to see!" Miss Abby says to us

this dance is really fun and it's really pretty

after the group its solos

|Solo Rehearsals|
"Kayla you've been winning winning winning every solo i've gave you, you've won and i expect no less this week" Miss Abby says

"okay." i say

we learn my dance and i really love it i like being a ringleader it's to Circus by Britney Spears

"wonderful! i want a win okay?" Miss Abby says

"Okay." i say

after my solo it was just classes

|Two Days To Competition|
we are going over the routine and Brooke isn't here it's just Paige which is odd

"head up, Kendall you're right behind Chloe you shouldn't be on her." Miss Abby says

"stop!" Miss Abby says suddenly

"HOLD!" Miss Abby screams

"Maddie turn the leg out! what is wrong with you?!" Miss Abby screams at Maddie

i turn my head round to look over at Maddie and Abby

"where is Brooke?" Miss Abby asks

"Brooke!" Miss Abby starts calling out of the studio A

Kelly then walks into studio A

"i don't think she's coming this weekend." Kelly says

wait what?

"so she's out?" Miss Abby says

"you're making a decision for me and for everybody else in this group, she knew when she was at the top of that pyramid and this is where it's bad parenting Kelly! she should've opened her mouth and said Abby let somebody else be at the top of the pyramid this week that is a mature thirteen year old not screwing everybody and stabbing them in the back!" Miss Abby yells

"but i don't think she's screwing any of them." Kelly says

"she's screwing me i can feel it! you're all dismissed, you're doing your solo , you're doing your solo , you're doing your solo and you're solo." Miss Abby says and we all walk out

"so is that the group cut?" i ask Maddie

"i think so." Maddie says

after rehearsals we are in the car

"Gia is doing the group tomorrow morning." Mom says

"so is everyone still going?" i ask

"yes everyone's still going." Mom says

|Competition Day|

Gia gave me Brookes part in the routine and i feel a bit bad for Brooke but i hope she has fun cheerleading

"girls remember this is starbound you are their national winners you can't be less than that do you understand?" Miss Abby
tells us

"yes." we all say

solos are up first and i'm really nervous

kaylas solo costume:

"remember Kayla you have a streak you can't break it now don't let me down." Miss Abby says

"yes." I say

we all go backstage

"i'm nervous" Maddie says

"why?" i say

"i'm not good at Jazz" Maddie says

"yes you are you'll be fine." i say

"welcome Maddie to the stage with lights camera action!" the announcer says
Maddie enters the stage and does her solo i won't lie she was good but it wasn't her best
she exited the stage and i hug her

"well done!" i say

"welcome Kayla to the stage with Greatest show" the announcer says
i enter the stage and perform to the best i can because i want to win.
i finish and i exit the stage and Maddie attacks me with a hug

"you were amazing!" she says

"thank you." i say

Chloes up next and i go over and hug her

"good luck Chloe!" i say

"Welcome Chloe to the stage with Dont catch me" the announcer says
Chloe does her solo and she's incredible Miss Abby did a great job this week for her
she comes off the stage and i hug her
"that was amazing!" i say
"thank you!" she says

kenzies up next and i'm so excited for her

"good luck kenz!" i say

she enters and she rocks that stage!

"remember Brooke never existed they have no idea we're missing a dancer." Miss Abby says
Christi does my hair and i do my makeup and i get on my costume

Group costume:

"listen to me i wasn't even gonna come not only do you have to prove Brooke wrong that's she's worthless and doesn't mean anything everyone's replaceable we all make choices and we have to live with those choices so let's go." Miss Abby says

we head backstage and i'm nervous i'm the lead this week and i have to get us the win
our music starts
and i start dancing the music is pretty and i try my very hardest

"our top junior petite soloist today it's going to 321 bigger isn't better it's Mackenzie!" the announcer says
since i won the national competition i'm handing out the awards and i give Mackenzie her trophy and i hug her

now it's time for our solo awards
"our top ten junior soloists." the announcer says
"in third place 324 lights camera action Maddie from Abby Lee!" the announcer says
oh god

"in second place junior soloist Greatest Show Kayla from Abby Lee!" the announcer says
a girl gives me my plaque and i smile

Abby is going to hate me

i let her down

i was meant to win

i was meant to stay on top

"and our top soloist it's Chloe from Abby Lee Dance!" the announcer says
i hug Chloe and i smile

i let Chloe beat me.

i can't do that.

"how do you feel about that score?" the announcer asks Chloe

"awesome!" Chloe says

we all sit back down and i hope we win the group

"junior groups" the announcer says

"8th place with a score of 279 it's Candy Apples Dance!" the announcer says

thank god

"top overall junior group.. born to dance Abby lee dance company!" the announcer says

we all cheer we won!!

"tell everybody what studio your from." the announcer says

"Abby Lee Dance Company!" we all scream

"that is your top junior overall!" the announcer says
