this week we are in Hollywood and I'm very excited
Me Maddie and Mackenzie arrive first as our mom isn't here this week and Abby is taking care of us!

The rest of the girls arrive and it's time for pyramid

|Pyramid|
"ladies here we are in los Angeles California for the I Hollywood national finales and you are in the city of dreams" Miss Abby says

"There are going to be children that you recognise the kids in movies the kids in television these kids audition on a weekly basis they are pros" 

"Maddie, Kayla your moms not here yet we all make choices she chose to be away instead of being here with yous, so the three of you are going to be with me this week and you may get to do things that the others don't get to do."

i give a soft smile

"So we are going to move on to our lovely pyramid" Miss Abby starts

"On the bottom row..and I have Paige and Brooke, you'll not be doing solos you'll be in the group number and I have it out to your mom she has told me that she can find better choreographers and I'm sure she can this is Los Angeles this isn't Pittsburgh but please understand if you go as an independent you're out you're finished." 

"Next is Mackenzie, you didn't dance."

"Next we have Nia, Mackenzie duet."

We all clap

Miss Abby reveals Chloes headshot next

"So Chloe you'll be doing a solo aswell as the group routine"

"next we have Maddie you'll be doing a solo this week."

"And no surprise Kayla, you'll be doing a solo this week now remember you are undefeated people are out to get you you're the one to beat." Miss Abby says to me

i big smile appears on my face

|Group Rehearsals|
so we started with the group rehearsals it's a sassy jazz number called my pumps and I'm very excited

"Come on girls gather round." Miss Abby says

"Girls I have a surprise for you, I have a visitor coming in to see us and she knows everything about working that stage let's all welcome laquifa!"

And we all turn to the door as Nias old solo music starts to play

And laquifa walks in we all start screaming and I grab Maddies arm

At the end she falls to the ground and we all clap

"Well hi everyone my name is Shangela and Miss Abby invited me in here to tell you a little bit about performing art about really working it while you're out there right?" Shangela says

"Maybe I could teach you guys the death drop?" Shangela says

We all gasp

"Yea!!" We all say

"The death drop really is safe you're not falling on your back but okay so here we go.. my pumps dadada my pumps" Shangela says and she does the death drop

"Just like that." She says

We all clap

"And that's the move okay?" She says

"so Nia on the ending we're gonna put that trick in there okay? Let me tell you something the crowd is going to go wild." She says

And Shangela starts teaching Nia the death drop

"So you're gonna come up do your hip hip then wipe shwoosh death drop pow" Shangela says

Nia does really good actually

"Yeah! Now instead of falling here first then laying try realising and going straight back okay?." Shangela says

"They're  gonna say oh my lord what'd she do? You feel good?" Shangela says and high fives Nia
Shangela soon leaves and Abby starts on solos

|Solo Rehearsals|
"Kayla you're solo is based of the Disney Movie Snow White it's entitled bite. You'll have a apple as a prop and at the end you'll take a bite and fall." Miss Abby says

I nod and we start the routine

It's a very pretty routine and I love playing a role of a princess it's to the song some day my prince will come Evynne Holmes
"The You bite the apple and fall" Miss Abby says as I finish the routine

She claps "beautiful."

"Go get a drink and get your sister in" Miss Abby says

"Okay thank you." I nod and walk out

"Mads Abby wants you" I say while taking a drink

"okay." She says

"What's you routine about?" Chloe asks

"Snow white" I smile

"Ooo! Sounds fun!" Chloe smiles

we're back in the hotel room with Miss Abby and Kenzies asleep already while me and Maddie are talking with Miss Abby
"Would you two like to go to lunch tomorrow in our break?" Miss Abby asks us

"Yes!" Me and Maddie say in unison

"Okay get to bed we have a long day tomorrow" Miss Abby tells us we nod and go into our rooms

the next day we arrive to rehearsals early so we have extra solo time

"Kay Maddie let's see you." Miss Abby says

Maddie goes over her routine it's absolutely beautiful
When she finishes we all clap

"beautiful!! Definitely a winner" Miss Abby says

"Kayla let's see you babe." Miss Abby says

I get up and start to walk to my starting position

"Kayla here." Miss Abby says as she hands me an apple

I walk over and take it off her "thank you." I say and I do my number

At the end I take a bite out of the apple and I fall

"Gorgeous! may the best sister win." Miss Abby says as she hugs me

The other girls arrive and we go over the group dance

While Chloes doing her solo I notice Paige isn't here

"Where's Paige?" I go over and ask Brooke

"My mom hired a choreographer to do a solo for her." Brooke says

"are you doing a solo aswell then?" I ask

Brooke shakes her head

"So will Abby take you and Paige out of the group or just Paige?" Nia pipes in

"She'll just take Paige out unless a big fight happens and she takes me out aswell" Brooke says

"Oh okay." I say and walk back over to Maddie

"so is Paige against us?" Maddie asks

"I think against Chloe." I say

"Who do you think will win?" Maddie then whispers

"Chloe." I whisper back

|Lunch|
Miss Abby, me and Maddie are walking down to get lunch on our break

Kenzie is with Nia and Holly getting lunch

"Right here girls"

Miss Abby points and we turn to go in

We sit down and the guy takes our orders

"What else do you girls wanna do? Yous just keep winning everything." Miss Abby asks us

"I wanna be on Broadway." Maddie says

"You wanna be on Broadway?" Miss Abby says

"Kayla?" Miss Abby asks

"I'd love to be on Broadway aswell but I'd like to do music videos and professional dancing for celebrity's." I say

"What about like here? We're in LA like yous don't think maybe be in a movie?" Miss Abby asks

"Oo! That'd be so much fun." I say smiling

"I think you could definitely make it you girls are winners." Miss Abby says

"Thank you" we both say and smile

The guy brings our food over and we start eating

"You know they put my mom in the hospital in Florida did yous hear that?" Miss Abby says

"Mhm." Maddie says and nods

"yeah." I say

"So I'm kinda missing her like you're missing your mom." Miss Abby says

"I have to find out how my mom is doing.. i don't know if she'll pick up or if they have her doing tests or something." Miss Abby says as she calls her mom

"Hey mom how you doing?" Miss Abby asks

"So so?" Miss Abby says

"Pain?" And Miss Abby cringes

I frown I feel bad for Miss Abby

"It's still killing you?" Miss Abby says

"They still haven't given you anything to eat?"

After the phone call we sit and chat then we head back to the studio to rehearse

After rehearsals Miss Abby takes all of us out to a toy store and basically let's us get whatever we want!
It was super fun

|Competition Day|
It's very early and the solos are up first

i get ready for my solo and i love my costume

Kaylas solo costume:

Miss Abby then does my hair and makeup and puts a red hair bow in my hair

I'm going over my solo when we all hear

"Hii!" Cathy says as she walks in with a basket

We are all shocked

"Hi everybody!" Cathy says

"What are you doing here?" Miss Abby asks

"Um I have something for you" Cathy says and hands Miss Abby the basket

"I do wanna introduce you to somebody.. this is justice." Cathy says as she as a small ginger boy beside her

He looks to be Kenzies age

"And I'd like you to be introduced to Taylor, Taylor is a 3 times title winner can you tell them what titles you've won." Cathy says

"Junior Miss dinomyte, junior Miss power and junior Miss textstar." Taylor says

They soon leave

"bring it on girlfriend bring it on" Kelly says

"Chloe we are going against them." Miss Abby says

Maddie looks to Chloe and smiles to her

i get up to start going over my solo and Miss Abby is fixing up Kenzies costume

"how was that number Paige? did you learn the whole thing?" Miss Abby asks Paige about her solo

oh god..

"i hired this choreographer yesterday" Kelly starts speaking

"right." Miss Abby says

"and they didn't have enough time to finish their dances" Kelly says

i sit down and look to Maddie and whisper "i thought Brooke wasn't doing one"

Maddie shrugs

"you wanted an outside choreographer" Miss Abby says

"i know that Abby." Kelly says

"you either need to pull out of the group and go as an independent and do the numbers, and prove me wrong." Miss Abby starts

"yeah but i was-" Kelly buts in

"they need you to beat every other thirteen year old" Miss Abby points to Brooke

"and she needs to beat Chloe, Maddie and Kayla" Miss Abby then points to Paige

Maddie leans over to me

"Paige isn't in our category? she's against Chloe" she whispers

"i know but if you win and Paige comes second in her category Miss Abby will say you beat Paige" i whisper

"ohh" Maddie nods

"I'm not doing it to my kids! I'm not!" Kelly starts to cry

"don't cry! it's all your fault to begin with!" Miss Abby says to kelly as she starts to walk out

"just pull the number." she says as she walks out

Paige starts to cry and Maddie gets up to hug her

"Maddie, Kayla solos!" Miss Abby then takes us out

"yous have been consistent yous have been amazing yous have inspired me to be a better teacher, and Maddie this could be big things for you make them cry, Kayla there could be a casting agent looking for a little girl to play a princess make this your moment" Miss Abby says to us as she tears up

"how about you guys do your dances for Mrs.Miller?" Miss abby asks and hugs us

"okay!" we both say and nod

we both head backstage

"good luck" i say and i hug Maddie

"thank you you too" she says

"Please welcome from the Abby Lee Dance Company this is Maddie and she'll be performing disappear" the announcer says as Maddie enters the stage

her solo is beautiful she nails everything i'm so nervous

Maddie exits the stage and she's crying and i hug her "why you crying did you get hurt?" i ask her

"no i miss mom" she says

"i know but you'll see her soon!" i say as she smiles

"Please welcome from the Abby Lee Dance Company Kayla and she'll be performing bite" the announcer says as i enter the stage
my music starts and i start dancing near the end i bobble on my turn and i know Miss Abby isn't going to be happy i bite the apple then i do my ending pose on the ground, the crowd cheers and i exit

i messed up

i ruined it

i was meant to do it right.

"that was so good!" Maddie hugs me

"no it wasn't! i fell on my turn!" i say

"i didn't even notice." Maddie says

"no but Miss Abby did! i just ruined my chances for a solo at nationals" i say and i walk off Maddie follows me and we sit beside Paige in the audience

"from Candy Apples Dance Centre this is Taylor!" the announcer says

the music starts and i look to Maddie

"that's Chloes music?" i say

"oh my gosh it is!" Maddie says in realisation

"can Chloe get disqualified for using the same song?" i ask Maddie

"i don't know" she says

Taylor finishes and the crowd claps

Christi came down and said to Miss Abby

"somebody just danced to Chloes song." Christi says to Miss Abby

"Cathys student." Miss Abby says

"Please welcome from Abby Lee Dance Company Chloe performing dream on a star" the announcer says
as Chloe enters the stage

"wooooo!" i cheer for Chloe

she starts her solo and she's absolutely beautiful i always loved her turns

we all cheer so loud for her and me and Maddie runs to go find her and hug her

"you were absolutely phenomenal! the best ive seen you dance" i say to Chloe

"thank you!" she says

the group is up next and i'm a but nervous Miss Abby is expecting me to do well as i do Jazz really well

group costumes:

"Please welcome Abby Lee Dance Company with My Pumps" the announcer says
we enter and i give it my all i do every sassy expression i can
we all exit and i pray Nia does the death drop
she hits the death drop and i beam
i think we did pretty well

|Awards|
the duet/trio awards are up first

"and in first place going to Abby Lee Dance Company!" the announcer says

we cheer for the duet

"moving onto the junior oscar solos" the announcer says

neither Taylor or Chloe have placed yet..

"and in first place going to Abby Lee Dance Company dream on a star!" the announcer says

i smile and side hug Chloe before she goes up and gets her award

"now your top 2 scoring mini soloists!" the announcer says

"in second place from Abby Lee Dance Company disappear" the announcer says

i look to Maddie..what?

Maddie goes up to get her award and i turn to Chloe

"i don't think i've placed" i say

"and in first place, Abby Lee Dance Company bite!" the announcer says

im shocked i smile and i go up to get my award and i sit back down and Maddie side hugs me

"moving along to your junior small group in third place from Abby Lee Dance Company act number 50 My Pumps" the announcer says 

Paige goes up to get the award

this isn't good..

we walk back to the dressing room and Abby is seething

"congratulations Chloe and Kayla" Abby says to us

"thank you." we say

she corrects a lot of us then we head to Florida for nationals.
