The cracks were starting to show, the flaws in their logic, they were wrong and he knew it. Why didn't he do anything about it?


He was afraid, the coward, he was afraid to confront them. He'd thought about it, going over every little detail on nights he couldn't sleep, wondering if things would be better had he confronted them earlier. It was too late for that now, things had spiraled out of his control, hadn't they?


Did he ever have control?


They'd seemed genuine in the beginning, like they only ever wanted what was best for others, but they always expected something after. They needed to gain something from helping someone or they wouldn't do it.


He's horrified to think about it, that they never truly cared for others and would switch the second a better offer arrived, to think about how flexible their morals were. They asked if he thought they were in the wrong and every time without fail he'd told them he didn't. He was wrong, they were wrong, he was an idiot for not realizing sooner.
