How dare he, how dare he take advantage of DC's kindness and lie to him, how dare he. He told DC all about how he'd changed, realized his mistake, and for what? What was he getting out of it?

DC pauses, anger ebbing, what was he getting out of it?

It didn't seem like he had any reason to want to leave, they had a good reputation, it never seemed like Florida would be unhappy with them. He had everything with them, people thought well of him, he's sure Florida got paid well, he had a partner that cared, what was wrong?

Thinking back, Florida always seemed just a little too on edge, glancing back at them often. Even when they weren't there, the constant looking around, double checking locks and refusing to say anything against them, his uniform was starting to cover more.

Oh god, he felt like an idiot not realizing sooner, not pushing it, what the fuck had he done?

He turns on his heel, walking out in quick strides, he was running out of time.
