Sweet Dreams

Raven and Beastboy were both in Raven's room. Raven was reading a book in front of the window while Beastboy was asleep on Raven's bed. His body was healing nicely from all of his earlier injuries and the mental wear was barely noticeable. Beastboy has been thinking clearly and had stopped having nightmares from the poison. Raven glanced over to see him sprawled out on her black duvet cover. His green locks were shaggy and slightly overgrown. The dark circles that used to lined his eyes were fading fast.

Bee woke up next to Cyborg. Seeing him sleep without being plugged in was a new sight. She was used to seeing him lay on his back on his table, perfectly silent with cords and monitors plugged in, but here he was, on his side, with his mouth hanging open to snore. Bee chuckled to herself, 'of course he snores' she thought. She laid on her left side, facing Cyborg, studying every detail of the man in front of her.

Starfire had left the room to go out Silkie back and Robin was getting groggy from his medicine. He closed his eyes, letting the fatigue overtake him.

In his dream, he was riding the R-cycle again. Swerving through the city in pursuit. Suddenly, the blast erupted from the ground. He felt his body hit the pavement and pieces of pavement and metal pound into him. He felt the insufferable heat of the blast singe his skin. The rubble was covering him, he was suffocating under the weight and heat. He tried to scream bu my rubble filled his mouth. He started to choke but instead of blacking out, he woke up choking in the hospital room.

"Robin!" Starfire was nudging his shoulder trying to wake him from his nightmare. Robin immediately shook and a wave of nausea hit him like a ton of bricks. He pointed at the bucket on the counter across the room. Starfire rushed over a little too late. Robin threw up all over his gown.

"Get Cyborg!" Robin groaned.

"No! I can assist!" Starfire insisted.

"No, just go get him!" Robin urged. Starfire grabbed a towel and started to wipe his chest. Suddenly getting embarrassed, Robin felt his face flush.

"LEAVE!" Robin yelled without meaning to. Starfire jolted up and away. "I'm sorry" Robin whispered but it was too late. Starfire flew out of the door so Robin wouldn't see her tears. She was a mixture of furious and embarrassed. The tears started to flow as she flew to her room. She stood at her window, watching the waves below. She opened the window and gave her room one last glance before leaping out.

An hour later, Raven stopped by to check on Robin. She walked in to see him laying there with puke on his chest.

"What happened here?" Raven muttered as she started to untie his hospital gown. She pulled the gown off gently and got another out of the closet. Robin stayed quiet. "If you continue to be a dick, people may start calling you that." Raven scolded, feeling the emotions spiraling in Robin's head.

"I can't stop hurting her" Robin whispered.

"You stop hurting her when you stop hurting yourself." Raven started, "Stop beating yourself for letting people care about you. Not everyone in the world gets that luxury. I know you know what that's like." Raven finished tying the last tie on his gown before she sat in the stool. "I told Cyborg to take the day off because you're running him ragged. You just made Starfire cry. What's next? You hurt my lack of feelings?"

"Thank you Raven." Robin whispered defeatedly.

"What for?" Raven asked with confusion.

"For being the Asshole I needed." Robin smirked.

"Any time." Raven smirked in return as she left the room. Raven floated down the hall, passed Cyborgs room to hear sounds she couldn't wash out of her memory with bleach. Rolling her eyes, she proceeded to Starfire's room and knocked on the door. With no answer, she moved on to her bedroom to take a quick nap with Beastboy.
