Hide and Sneak

Aqualad took to searching the ocean. If her communicator was in the ocean, maybe she was too. It was a grim possibility, but anything was possible at this point in time.

Since Robin was immobile, he was tasked with calling around to all of their usual spots to see if any had spotted Starfire. Then he branches out to various buildings in the city that had a high vantage point, but had no luck.

Cyborg took to making a time line of the tower security cameras and Starfire's locations saved in her communicator. He made a path from the tower cameras catching her flying away to the stops she made in the City based off of her location pings, finally there was one last ping on the edge of the beach before the pings stopped in the water. He drew it out on the map. The stops in the city were in a bad part of town but the locations themselves weren't bad. He'd need to find out why she was there in the first place. One conclusion he could draw is that at least she wasn't kidnapped from the tower. He could only hope she was still out on her own.

Beastboy and Raven were searching through the city when Cyborg called the coordinates of her stops to them. They checked out the store and found the old lady working in the corner, organizing the sweatshirts on a table. Raven showed her a picture of Starfire and she gave them a brief description of the backpack and clothes that she bought before leaving. Puzzled, they went to their next stop and watched the guy pull up surveillance video of Starfire coming in dressed as herself and leaving the gas station bathroom as a stranger. None of this made sense to them. Why would Starfire try to disappear?

The group reconvened in the hospital room to discuss their findings.

"We have a solid whereabouts from 9pm to 12am and then she's off the grid." Cyborg started.

"Beastboy and I interviewed the store cashier and the gas station clerk and she bought some clothes at the store and changed in the gas station bathroom." Raven continued.

"Then she went to the beach, lost her communicator, and disappeared. We didn't find her anywhere in the ocean so it's safe to say she didn't drown." Aqualad finished.

"None of this makes sense!" Cyborg shouted in frustration. The group was startled but everyone knew Cyborg was a little extra protective of Starfire. The group stood silently, taking in all of the information. No one had a good answer for Cyborg or even the rest of the findings. After what seemed like an eternity, Beastboy spoke up.

"What do we do now?" Beasboy whispered.

"We keep looking." Robin started. "This is my fault, so I'll watch the surveillance cameras tonight. You guys get some rest." Robin finished before the group started to leave.

"Raven, can you stay for a minute?" Robin whispered.

"What..." Raven said flatly.

"How much can you heal me tonight? I need to be out there and out of this bed!" Robin asked sternly.

"I'll get some supplies and see what I can do." Raven retorted with a stern conviction.

Raven left Robin in the hospital room and went to do some reading in one of her spell books. She knew this was a long shot but there was a spell amplifier she remembered reading about and she wondered if it could safely increase the effects of her healing powers without draining her. She flipped through the book and found the spell. She grabbed the supplies and went to grab Beastboy.

The two arrived in Robin's hotel room. Beastboy had a water bottle and apple in his hands for Raven incase. She pulled up the nightstand next to the bed and placed the open book on top. Beastboy turned off the lights as Raven lit the candle next to her book. She began to chant and her eyes glowed in a soft purple. She placed her hands above Robin and began to heal the multiple injuries. About fifteen minutes in, Beastboy could see her body starting to shake. He wanted to ask how she was but he knew breaking her concentration could be catastrophic for Robin. Robin glanced over at Beastboy, seeing his nerves plastered all over his green face. He shut his eyes to try to remain still under Raven's hands.

About 10 minutes later, she could feel pain creeping into her head. She was starting to overdo what she could handle but she was also very close to being done. She just had to heal the fractures in his hip and pelvis but the pain was starting to explode so deep in her skull, she felt enormous pressure behind her eyes. Robin felt a drop hit his hand and opened his eyes to see a small trail of blood that had dropped from Raven's nose. Suddenly, Raven collapsed in exhaustion as Beastboy ran in to help. Robin knew he wasn't completely healed but he tried to get out of bed. His legs were wobbly and there was still an intense pain in his left hip into his pelvis, but he took his first step. He let out a pained gasp as his left foot took the second step as both Raven and Beastboy watched.

"I couldn't finish." Raven mumbled in Beastboys arms. He had scooped her up into his arms as if she weighed nothing.

"You did everything I needed you to." Robin said through gritted teeth as he took a few more labored steps to a set of crutches learning on the wall. Robin propped himself up, trying to take the weight off of his injuries. He left the hospital room for the first time since his accident.

Robin crutched his way out to the living room to turn on the city surveillance cameras on the big screen. Walking around with crutches wasn't too painful. The weight was off of his hip and he only felt his pelvis if he stepped to hard with his right leg. For a brief second he forgot his injuries as he sat down on the sofa, only to be shot with an excruciating pain from putting weight on his pelvis. He doubled over in pain as he slumped onto his right side. His eyes watered into the couch cushion as he remained perfectly still, trying not to aggravate anything else. He took a deep breath, just happy that Raven had taken care of his broken ribs. He laid on the sofa, scanning through the footage for the rest of the night.

Beastboy took Raven to her room and tucked her in. She insisted she was fine but Beastboy wasn't in a gambling mood. He turned into a 'guard dog' and slept at the foot of her bead for the rest of the night.
