PB & J Sandwhiches

Beastboy flew back into the air ducts while Raven, Robin, and Cyborg snuck in through the  basement crawl space door. Raven phased through the walls to make a distraction for Slade in another room while Robin and Cyborg surprised Sam when he unexpectedly came through to see where Slade had gone. Sam was a lot stronger than Cyborg anticipated and he had great hand-to-hand combat skills. Robin would make a great opponent for Sam but today was not the day. They were just trying to distract him long enough for Beastboy to get Starfire out.

Meanwhile, Beastboy saw Sam leave and immediately flew out of the vent and over to Starfire. She was unconscious and there was a table lined up with knives and scalpels beside her. There was one small incision on her stomach but it wasn't deep. The team had distracted Sam in the Knick of time. Beastboy immediately grabbed some gauze and taped it to her incision before he unhooked her from the IV fluids. He transformed into a gorilla and picked the limp Starfire up and smashed through a metal loading dock garage door. He made sure he was a mile away before he paged the team.

"Guys, I'm out! I've got Star and I'm heading back!" Beastboy paged Cyborg before morphing into a pterodactyl and flying Starfire to the tower.

Raven had trapped Slade in a room with her force field and went back to help Cyborg and Robin.

"We need to go!" Cyborg shouted to the other two since only he had gotten the call. Beastboy did this strategically so Slade wouldn't hear their plan. Cyborg shot his sonic cannon at Sam but he was unfazed. Same was holding his own against 3 Titans as Raven's forcefield that was holding Slade back, broke. Without warning Slade came from behind and slammed a broken piece of steel I-beam into Robin's back. Cyborg and Raven heard the blood curdling scream from Robin behind them. Raven paniced and open a portal below Robin and Cyborg, dropping them into the hospital wing before her inner demon unleashed.

Cyborg and Robin landed softly on the floor of the hospital wing in front of Beastboy. Beastboy already had Starfire in one gurney and helped lift Robin to another. Robin was laid on his stomach to evaluate his back while Starfire was unconscious on the bed next to him.

"Is she okay!?" Robin asked ignore if Cyborg and Beastboy trying to calm him down and keep him in bed.

"Robin, you need to stay in bed. I'll check on her first as long as you stay put!" Cyborg shouted as he turned to check out Starfire. Robin laid still, with his face turned against his pillow to Starfire and Cyborg. Robin watched him work, almost holding his breath. It was dead silent in the room as she was hooked up to monitors. When the heart monitor started beating, Robin relaxed a little, letting out a sigh of relief. Cyborg took some blood and submitted it into the computer systems.

"Wait, where's Raven!?" Beastboy shouted breaking the silence between Robin and Cyborg.

"She sent is through the portal before she went straight demon on Slade..." Cyborg started before Beastboy jumped out of the window to go find her.

Raven could feel herself loosing control as Cyborg and Robin fell through her portal. She was passed angry, she was furious. She could feel her red eyes coming in and tentacles starting to pour out from her cloak. The black rage poured out from her might like ink from a broken gel pen. Her tentacles wrapped around Sam and Slade, squeezing the life out of them. She squeezed until she heard a pop of a rib from Sam, laughing a horrendously evil laugh. Pterodactyl Beastboy busted through the window and saw raven killing the two villains slowly, squeezing her prey like a python. He morphed and jumped down onto the floor to confront the demon before she did something human Raven would regret.

"Raven stop! This isn't you!" Beastboy shouted up at the girl trapped in the demon's body. The demon looked down and growled. "Put them down!" Beastboy commanded and the demon stopped squeezing. She held the limp bodies for a moment and tossed them into the cement wall. She suddenly felt herself gaining control as the tentacles retracted and she fell to the floor. Beastboy called authorities as Raven formed a steel I-beam around the two with her last bit of energy. She stumbled onto her knees and Beastboy pulled her up to lean on his shoulder. The authorities came with an armored truck to take Slade and Sam away. Beastboy transformed into a pterodactyl and let Raven climb up onto his back as they flew home.

In the hospital wing, Cyborg checked Starfire's blood lab results as Robin refused treatment until he knew she was alright. He lie there in the bed, back stabbing in pain, watching her face for any changes.

"Okay, so she's just under a mild anesthesia and the small cut on her abdomen is clean and stitched up. She should wake up in about a half hour... Now can I please examine your back so I know you're not paralyzed?" Cyborg sassed Robin.

"Yeah..." Robin stoped to relax a little and take a breath. "Yeah, thank you Cyborg! Thank you so much for everything! I don't know what I'd do if she wasn't okay..." Robin confessed as he started to cut off the back of Robin's shirt. His back has swollen and bruised in a dark purple welt a tossed his lower back. Cyborg gently touched his spine above and below the welt which caused an explosion of pain through Robin's body.

"AGHHHHHHH!" Robin screamed as if he was being tortured.

"Okay, don't move! I'm taking you back for an x-ray." Cyborg mumbled as he strapped Robin to a transport stabilizer to protect his spine to hold him in place for the X-ray process. He wheeled Robin back and shot the prints. He wheeled Robin back and immediately went to go develop the X-ray film.

Robin laid there silently, unable to turn his head to watch Starfire with the stabilizer holding his head still. He heard a grunt which made his heart race. 'Grunts could be good or bad' his thoughts raced.

"Starfire! Are you awake!?" Robin shouted staring up at the ceiling. He waited but heard no answer. His heart started hammering. "Starfire!? Please wake up!" Robin pleaded nervously.

"R-ro-bin?" Starfire groaned through closed eyes. The lights were too bright for her eyes to handle. Robin started laughing in a mixture of relief and stress but regretted it instantly from the pain it brought. Starfire heard the faint but pained laugh and she cracked one eye ope towards the sound. She saw Robin strapped down to a gurney and panicked. "Robin!" She gasped opening her eyes and sat up, feeling a wave of dizziness overtake her.

"Star, are you okay? I can't look at you." Robin pleaded sounding a little scared.

"I feel the fine! She got up slowly and flew over to Robin's bed, forgetting her monitor cords. She pulled the heart monitor from her finger as the monitor buzzed. She floated over Robin so he could see her. She put her hands gently on both sides of his cheeks and looked into his mask. She gently removed his mask from his face as Cyborg busted into the room.

"Star—oh!" Cyborg composed himself seek Starfire flying and not dead. "Sorry, I got the alert from your heart monitor." Cyborg mumbled as he went back to examining the film.

"I'm so happy to see you!" Robin whispered laughing with tears starting to well up in his blue eyes.

"I'm so sorry, Robin!" Starfire whispered as she looked him over. "This is my fault." Starfire said beginning tear up.

"No, no, no! Star, don't cry! I did this to myself! I should've been watching my back!" Robin started with a smile. "I'm just so happy you're okay! I thought I lost you!" Robin said breathlessly with a big smile. "Please tell me you're staying! Star, please don't leave again!" Robin pleaded as Starfire dried her eyes.

"Yes, I' will stay!" Starfire said with a smile as Beastboy flew in through the window with Raven holding on to his back. He morphed into a human and set Raven on the chair in front of Robin and Starfire.

"Hey Star! How're ya feelin?" Beastboy asked going in for a hug.

"I am the fine!" She exclaimed "How are you and Raven?" She inquired seeing Raven slumped holding her head.

"Well I'm great! And Raven straight up threw Slade like he's a rag doll! So overall pretty groovy!" Beastboy said a little too excited for Raven to handle because she threw her shoe at his face.

"If you give me any more of a head ache, you'll learn how Slade felt!" Raven snarked as she left to get some water and go sleep.

Cyborg came in with X-rays in hand to see Beastboy back.

"Oh hey Grass-stain! How's Raven?" Cyborg asked as he hooked the film to the light table on the wall.

"She tossed them like a Cesar salad!" Beastboy laughed as he sat down in her chair. "She went to go sleep her evilness off a little." He finished with a chuckle of disbelief.

"Yeah, I wasn't worried. The second I saw her eyes change, I knew they were goners." Cyborg laughed as he studied the X-rays suddenly sobering up. "Man, your L3 through L5 are trashed, you might need a spinal fusion if Raven can't at least partially heal you by tomorrow. Your hip and pelvis are refractured, but everything above your lower back is good! As long as you stay put, you shouldn't be paralyzed." Cyborg spoke candidly as he unstrapped his neck from the back board. He slowly pulled the board out. Beastboy and Starfire left so that Cyborg could help Robin get into a hospital gown.

Beastboy and Starfire sat in the kitchen with a couple of peanut butter and jelly sandwiches Beastboy made for them both. They sat quietly, both tired from the day. Beastboy finally broke the silence.

"So why'd you leave?" Beastboy asked. Noticing Starfire was still in her black sweats but her beanie was missing. Her red hair was all over the place but it still managed to look good. Her eyes looked tired and dull from the anesthesia.

"I was sad and alone and everyone needed care, but no one was caring for me. I kept helping everyone else, being happy, and no one was helping me. You and Raven are together, Cyborg and Bee are together and when Robin was angry, I felt unloved. I wanted to do the escaping." She spoke softly sinking into her chair.

"I'm so sorry Starfire! I was so wrapped up in everything that I didn't notice...but I know that everyone loves you, we've just all been going through it! I mean, shoot, Robin was so sad after you left, I saw the dude in jeans!" Beastboy joked laughing which eased Starfire a little.

"Really? He was in, the jeans?" Starfire giggled like a small child.

"Oh yeah!" Beastboy said with a smirk as he took her plate to the sink. "Oh and Star?" Beastboy asked.

"Yes?" She replied with a smile.

"Take a damn shower!" He joked as he sprayed the sink sprayer at Starfire from across the kitchen which caused an embarrassed squeal.

"I am going!!" She shouted as she flew off to her room.

Beastboy sat alone in the living room, watching tv. Everyone was finally back and Slade was in jail. He sat and just smoked in the moment with everything going right, then suddenly, he communicator went off startling his relaxation. He flipped it open to see Bumblebee's worried face.

"Hey BB, have you seen Sparky? He's not been answering all day!" Bee asked with worry all over her face.
