It's a Girl!

Since making the decision to switch to Nightwing, Dick had been training Damien for a few months to take up his role as Robin and working with Starfire on his new uniform. She still had a clear memory of his uniform in the future (she time traveled for those who haven't seen every episode of Teen Titans). Since being in the hospital, Dick had started letting his hair grow, which had gotten down to about shoulder length. There were soft black waves in his hair and Starfire was surprised by how much she liked his long hair.

Dick was a much nicer training partner than Bruce had been and he was excelling very quickly. Dick was working on fitting the Robing persona to Damien's natural fighting style as opposed to forcing Damien to fit Dick's mild. Damien was much quicker on his feet and her really excelled in using knives and explosives. While combat training, Dick had seen a spattering of new scars on Damien since he had arrived which angered Dick. Bruce's abuse was the reason Dick had left Gotham City, but now it was looking like the trend continued with Damien.

Dick had also gotten much farther with his own training. He really worked towards getting stronger with a weight lifting program written by Cyborg. He trained differently now, instead of acrobatics, he kept himself closer to the ground with hand-to-hand combat. With as much progress as Dick and Damien had made, it was time to unveil the new Robin and Nightwing!

Meanwhile Beastboy was still working on his secret project. Raven was not used to Beastboy needing alone time but after a couple of months, she was starting to adjust. All she knew is it was something in a book that he needed to be alone for. 'Please don't be porn...' she constantly begged in her head whenever she noticed he was alone in his room. Whatever he was doing, it seemed to really lighten his mood because the rest of the time, he was upbeat so she chose not to question it too much. This was really out of character for him but at least he was doing well!

Bee was starting to get more comfortable working and being pregnant. She was in her fourth month and was starting to show more noticeably. Her wardrobe had gone from her yellow and black crop tops to black turtle necks or sweaters. She was still in Titans East but her assignment was almost up. She couldn't believe she hadn't seen Cyborg in two months. Her old teammates had been wonderful since they found out. She didn't realize how much help she was going to need once she started showing, but they were there every step of the way.

She had started packing her suitcases with Aqualad's help. He had always acted like an older brother to her, which is what made the new dynamic of him taking her leadership role, a little more fun. He could tell that Bee was feeling slightly off today but she was actively trying to ignore it. She grimaced with a small pain in her side and he jumped up to care of her.

"Are you sure you should fly back tonight? I think you might be pushing yourself too hard." Aqualad warned but she continued to brush it off.

"Yes! I'll be able to relax once I'm back with Cyborg!" Bee complained missing his feet rubs.

"At least let me drive you?" Begged Aqualad to which Bee finally relented. He helped get her loaded up into Titan's East version of the T-Car (the same thing but in Red). It was late at night on a Wednesday so she breezed through TSA. She sat in her terminal waiting to board her plane.

Cyborg was waiting patiently at the airport. Aqualad has called him after dropping Bee off and said she looked a little out of it. He figured he would be ready to help her relax the second she stopped off the plane.

There was a small electronics store robbery with Control Freak that night that Nightwing, Starfire, Raven, Beastboy, and Robin would try to handle while Cyborg was away. Nightwing lead the team as Robin made his debut. Control freak was confused by the shorter Robin but quickly caught on that Nightwing was the old Robin. Unfortunately for Control Freak, he was so caught up in the exposé that he allowed himself to be captured by Robin's rope. Excited about the successful venture, Nightwing took Robin to answer the reporter on scene so that Damien could have his first moment as a hero.

Bee was seated in the plane about 20 minutes into the flight and she felt her stabbing pain come back followed by what felt like a fever. She shivered in her seat for a while until she got a head ache from the shaking. She called the flight attendant using the light above her seat. Cyborg had splurged on first class so she could relax on her flight back, but so far she was miserable. The called over the intercom for a doctor on board as the stranger came up and took her temperature and blood pressure. The doctor said she had a slight temp at 100° and the slight raise in blood pressure could just be stress. He then listened to the baby via stethoscope and everything sounded normal. He urged her to relax as much as possible and they would help her off the plane when she landed. She didn't like his response because she had a sinking feeling the doctor had missed something. She took the cold washcloth the doctor offered and placed it on her forehead to cool her off. She tried to close her eyes to sleep but her heart continued to pound. She didn't know where this was coming from because she was never a nervous flyer. She reclined her seat and closed her eyes with the cold towel on her head. The towel helped a lot. Time started to tick by a little faster and before she knew it, they were landing.

That night was Nightwing and Starfire's date night. Nightwing had something extra special planned for them. He was already on cloud nine from finally getting back into battle and it was all thanks to Starfire and her vision. He owed her his life after she had saved his so many times. Earlier that week, he got together with Cyborg and went to the jewelry store. He had a small box in his suit pants pocket, waiting for the night to begin. He had planned a fancy dinner on the beach for the two of them. He had the food cooked and waiting in a picnic basket and had rolled up a blanket to spread along the sand. He even borrowed some candles from Raven. He was going over everything in his head and was sure he had everything just right.

Cyborg had grabbed some ice cream from the airport convenience store near the exit gate. He sat and waited patiently for Bee to walk out. He got the notification that her plane had landed about 10 minutes ago but none of the people leaving were her. He sat in the chair, fiddling with the pint of ice cream.  The cold was starting to reach the heat sensors in his fingertips. Just as he looked up, he saw Bee walking out of the exit gate with a suitcase rolling behind her. He immediately noticed her belly and how much she'd grown. He jumped up and hugged her tightly before kneeling down and kissing her stomach. She leaned forward from fatigue and placed her hand on his shoulder making him look up with concern. He then noticed the beads of sweat on her forehead and the slight discomfort painted across her face.

"We need to go." Bee urged as Cyborg got up and took her suitcase for her. Once inside the T-car, she took the ice cream and held it against her forehead. Bee continued to have pains in her side as they drove. He rushed her to the tower and hooked her up to an ultrasound machine to see what was going on. Since she had been gone, they hadn't had their first ultrasound yet so there was a little excitement mixed in the fear. The baby was completely fine and a girl, which brought a lot of excitement. Bee, however, was showing signs of stress with a fever and high blood pressure. Cyborg tentatively concluded that it might have been a panic attack even though she said she was not stressed out. He dose her with a mild sedative that wouldn't harm the baby and hoped whatever was causing this could calm down before any damage could be done.

Cyborg sat, alone in the hospital wing. No one had heard them come in since it was late. He knew this was Nightwing and Starfire's big night so he didn't want to interrupt them, but he was stressing out. If he couldn't get Bee's nerves to calm down, they could lose the baby. He sat silently with the minutes ticking by like hours, watching Bee sleep.
