Star Gazing

After a couple weeks of using the walker and getting old man jokes, Robin was starting to regain his strength and balance. He was starting to walk around his room without help and down the hall with a hand on the wall. One day, he decided he was going to try the steps up to the rooftop without telling anyone. He stepped into the stairwell and grabbed the rail to his right. His right foot planted on the first step and was pain free. Then he set his left foot onto the next step and his bad hip ached as he pushed himself to the next step. He gritted his teeth and decided to keep going. The more steps he climbed, the more he had to rely on the railing. A few steps left and he was practically pulling himself up the stairs. His left hip aches and his back was hurting but he was about to take the last step. He got to the door, feeling dizzy and achy but he also felt tremendously accomplished. Opening the door the chilly ocean air hit him in the face. He stumbled out to the cement pad and limped over to the ledge. He sat down enjoying the view of the city. He grabbed his communicator and called Starfire.

"Hey Star, guess where I am!" Robin said slightly out of breath.

"Where!?" Starfire asked slightly concerned.

"On the rooftop! I tried the stairs for the first time...Any chance you want to come up here and watch the sunset?" Robin asked slightly nervously.

"Oh yes!! But are you the O.K??" Starfire asked as she flew through the hall.

"Oh yeah! I feel great!" Robin spoke watching Starfire fly in the communicator screen. She busted threw the rooftop door and rushed over to Robin.

"Are you sure you are okay?" Starfire fussed eyeing him over.

"Yeah I'm good, Star! You don't need to worry!" Robin reassured. She relaxed and sat down next to him on the ledge. The sun was starting to descend and Starfire snuggled in under Robin's left arm. The sky was starting to turn a soft pink which was Starfire's favorite kind of sunset.

Cyborg was adjusting well into his new role. He was sitting in the living room, watching the traffic cameras but the city had gone quiet since Slade's arrest. The cameras were getting dark with the sun setting and Bumblebee walked in the door from visiting Titans East. Cyborg looked up and saw one exhausted looking Bee.

"Babe, how was it?" Cyborg asked. She flopped down on the sofa with a dramatic moan. "That bad??" Cyborg asked surprised.

"Aqualad is doing fine, there's just no cohesion. They fought the whooooole time!" Bee groaned into a pillow. Cyborg came over and pulled her boots off, before massaging her feet. She laid quietly with her face still in the pillow. He rubbed her feet for a while, until he realized that she was breathing rhythmically.

"Bee?" Cyborg whispered but there was no answer. He gently rolled her into his arms and carried her up to their room. He tucked her into their bed and went back out to the living room to finish up the traffic cameras since it was only 9pm. Once he stepped foot into the living room, he saw Raven with a book in her hands, sitting in the sofa.

Starfire and Robin were both laying on their backs, watching the stars. They had been outside for a few hours but neither were overly motivated to move. They were holding hands and really just enjoying the moment together.

Robin gently rolled over onto his right side with a wince. Starfire rolled onto her left to study his face. Robin had stopped wearing his mask all-together  since stepping down and Starfire really enjoyed looking into his soft-blue eyes. She examined everything from the way his eyelashes fade from black to brown to the little splatter of freckles across his nose for the sun. He was watching her green eyes move around his face with curiosity. He nudged himself closer so his nose was touching hers. Starfire smiled happily taking in the proximity change. Robin snuck a quick yet soft kiss without breaking from Starfire's gaze. She let out a small giggle of approval and Robin kissed her again, only this time he allowed himself to linger and time to stop.

Beastboy was bored in his room, playing video games. He got up to lock his door and pulled a small shoebox from underneath his bed. He didn't know what he and Raven were becoming but they had gotten tremendously close. She was scared of commitment but she was treating him like a boyfriend. He just wanted to hear her say it once. He opened the box and revealed a black leather-bound book he was working on. Inside were pictures and pages of writing, all written by Beastboy. He grabbed his pen and began to write on a fresh page while sitting on the floor.

Raven looked up to see Cyborg sitting down next to her. He was just the person she was looking for.

"I found and interesting spell..." Raven started with her new spell book open in her lap. She had snuck out to the magic shop while Beastboy and her patrolled. Beastboy has bought the book for her as a surprise.

"Oh?" Cyborg quizzed. It was unusual for Raven to openly talk about what she was reading so Cyborg was intrigued to say the least.

"It's not permanent but it temporarily reversed the effects of time on a body for a day..." Raven continued before flipping the page. "I thought it was interesting because it's quoted to have given an amputee his legs neck for an entire day..." Raven finished without needing to say anymore.

"Are you suggesting I could be normal for a day?" Cyborg asked incredulously.

"Yes." Raven stated confidently.
