Oh My Stars

Beast Boy sat alone, thoroughly ticked off. He didn't like feeling like the benched water boy and the last thing he needed was sleep. He stood up from his bed and opened the window. Next thing he knew, he was a black bird, flying towards a bank.

Meanwhile, Raven has Cinderblock detained in a black forcefield and Robin was off talking to police. It was a relatively fast battle but no one knew how Cinderblock got out of jail. Raven stood guard while they waited for a specialty transportation truck to come and pick up Cinderblock.

Suddenly a familiar green tinted black bird swooped down onto Raven's shoulder before receiving an angry swat. "Aren't you supposed to be home?" Raven growled as she tried to concentrate on the forcefield. Beast Boy changed into his human form and stood before her with a grin.

"I wasn't tired!" Beast Boy smirked with a shrug.

"Go home!" Raven said through clenched teeth. She could feel her focus wavering as her attention was captured briefly by Beast Boy's antics. Suddenly a loud crack, rattled Raven's side as Cinderblock busted a fist through her force field and straight into her ribs. She tumbled to the ground, gasping for air. Beast Boy ran after her but was interrupted by an electric jolt of pain in the back of his neck. His vision went starry but he staggered in the direction or Raven's body. Beast Boy blacked out before he collapsed next to Raven.

Raven reached out to touch Beast Boy's face that lay in front of hers. She didn't see what hit him but she could still hear him cry out in pain as Cinderblock ran away. Her grey thumb brushed his cheek and she noticed the dark emerald circles under his unconscious eyelids. She tried to sit up to heal him but the wave of pain from her broken ribs kept her on the ground. She could sense which five of her ribs were broken and exactly where but healing them would be another story. The pain was just enough to take her focus and leave her momentarily powerless. Cyborg ran over with a puzzled expression at the sight of Raven and Beast Boy without a Cinderblock.

"Don't ask, just help me up..." Raven growled as Cyborg bent down to grab her.

"Aghhhh!" Raven cried out in pain as Cyborg scooped her up into his arms. Robin and Starfire followed closely behind with an unconscious Beast Boy on their shoulders.

The ride back was quiet....Too quiet... Raven knew Robin was upset and no one else wanted to challenge the silence. Everything hurt to breath so she wasn't entirely too eager to speak either. Every bump caused a wince of pain as cyborg eyed her in the rear view mirror. Raven glanced down at the green goon, slumped over in the seat next to her and noticed the slight burn on the back of his neck. 'Interesting' she thought to herself, making the mental note.
