Robin's Emotions

Robin had finished layering Beast Boy with a warm and sterile blanket in his recovery room. He sat down in a beside chair, still in his scrubs from before, studying the green face before him. So much had happened in the past 48 hours that he no longer recognized this green person in front of him. He felt all kinds of emotions at the moment. He was angry. He thought he knew Beast Boy, his happy-go-lucky friend, his impractical jokester. There wasn't anything Robin wouldn't give to have that all back in this moment.

Robin felt guilt for everything. He sat and thought all the way back to the first time he doubted Terra. He was the leader. It was his job to decide whether someone can be a Titan or not. He should've just stuck to his guns and listened to his doubt. He let a parasite in. He let Beast Boy down.

Shaking his head to clear his thoughts, he got up to go check on the rest of the team. He walked past Cyborg's room, who was already plugged in and recharging. Then he walked past Starfire's empty room and which scared him for a brief moment until he remembered that she went to stay with Raven. He walked over to Raven's room and cracked the door open, he saw sleeping Starfire, holding a sleeping Raven close. The sight put him at ease. Starfire didn't know it, but Robin knew she would make a great leader if anything ever happened to him and this was an example of that. He hated that he'd had these conversations with himself. These, "if I die" monologues that go on in his head, but this line of work didn't lean towards forgiving and Robin wasn't the kind to neglect making a plan. He stepped away from Raven's door and closed it gently.

Not feeling tired, he walked out to the living room and started researching. "How did Beast Boy find Terra?" "How long had this been going on?" and "Why did Terra try to kill Beast Boy?" were all questions swarming around Robin's head. Robin began searching for Slade sightings, "Those injuries on Beast Boy were not mercy-killing. That was the cold blooded work of someone who wanted to do it and enjoyed what they were doing. The worst part was that there was no sign of Beast Boy fighting back." Robing thought to himself. "Did he go there knowing this would happen? Was he trying to get himself killed?" The thoughts hit him with an extra weight. "Holy shit..." Robin mumbled under his breath. He had just realized what had dawned on Cyborg earlier during surgery, which brought an overwhelming sadness to Robin's mind. Robin sat back, staring at the blinking cursor, that was waiting for him to enter a new search, but it didn't matter. Robin had bigger problems than Slade now.
