Just Go To Bed Already!

After a brief but nonchalant re-enactment of the days activities from Beastboy, he took his communicator to Robin and Cyborg in the hospital for Bee to discuss an urgent matter.

Beastboy came through the doors to with his communicator. Cyborg was just hanging out in a chair with Robin, chatting away. Robin appeared to be in a much better mood now that Starfire was back. (Although it easily could've been the pain medication he was on to manage the fractures in his spine, hip, and pelvis)

"Yo Cy! Your girl is on my communicator looking for you!" He said as he tossed Cyborg his communicator and left to keep relaxing.

"Hey babe! I'm so sorry! I've been swamped!" Cyborg said apologetically stressed.

"No worries Sparky! BB filled me in!" Bee said in a chipper yet forgiving tone. "I actually have something for the two of you!" Bee started waiting for Cyborg to get Robin's bed inclined so he could be in the video call. "Hey Robin! Sorry to hear about your back!" Bee said sympathetically.

"It's all good!...Part of the job." Robin said groggily, "What's up?"

"So remember about 6 months ago when Flash started talking to Jinx and she all of a sudden wanted to be good? Sooooo, shes gone through all of her villain rehabilitation and his really been excelling in her combat training. The Flash is joining Titans East and I'm adding Jinx under him as a supervisory role. I told Wally, her success or failure is on his neck. Sound good to y'all?" Bee explained cautiously.

"Absolutely! I think you handled that situation correctly and I know how much of a mentor you've been to Jinx as it is! The reality is we have been totally hammered out here so we need all of the help we can get!" Robin spoke supportively and candidly about the situation. Cyborg looked over at Robin in surprise. "...Which is why I want you to appoint Aqualad as interim leader and you to take over Titans West while I recover. Both you and Cyborg did a awesome job leading this team through everything that's happened and this team needs both of you to take over for a while." Robin finished and both Cyborg and Bee sat shocked at the decision. Old Robin would have never given up the reins to this team.

"Are you planning on coming back as leader?" Cyborg asked completely shocked and Bee sat quietly taking everything in.

"Oh yeah! I just need to take some personal time and actually recover. You know that's hard for me to say. This team means everything to me but I need it to be in good hands...for now, that's just not me." Robin said coming to terms with his own reality.

"Wow! Alright! I'll go back n' forth a little at first to make sure Titans East is going okay, but yeah, I'll start packing tonight!" Bee said excitedly. This was a tremendous opportunity and she had to admit, she was excited to be back with Cyborg. Bee hung up and Cyborg left to go prepare his room to become "their" room. Robin decided to announce the news in the morning to the rest of the team.

Beastboy got tired of watching tv and decided to go check on Raven. He grabbed a bottle of blue Gatorade and walked over to her room. He opened the door silently and saw that she was in a very deep sleep. He set the bottle on her nightstand and transformed into a cat to snuggle into her chest for the night. He didn't know exactly what he and Raven were, but he loved every second of it. He glanced up at her grey face. She looked completely relaxed. Her eyes were lined with puffy dark circles and her body was sprawled out in an abnormal position which meant she was out of it. He laid there, watching her sleep until he fell asleep himself.

Cyborg got a set of drawers with a nice vanity mirror on top and set it up in their room. He finished it off with a cute little black velvet stool. He sat on the bed, looking around, trying to figure out what else she would need. He threw on a hoodie with his disguise rings to look like a normal person. He went off to a grocery store to grab a few things before she got there in the morning.

Starfire walked into the hospital room, freshly showered and back in her uniform.

"Hey Star!" Robin spoke excitedly as she took the seat next to his bed.

"Hello Robin." She spoke tiredly. The anesthesia was still dragging her down from earlier in the day.

"How are you feeling?" Robin asked concerned as he looked over her face. She look exhausted even though she just showered.

"I am very tired...." She mumbled twiddling her thumbs. "But I am fine!" She mumbled with a grin.

"Do you—uh—wanna um—join me?" He whispered super quietly as he awkwardly patted the open space next to him on the bed. His hands were shaking from nerves. As he watched Starfire hesitate, thinking it over in her head. 'Why did she make him so nervous?' Robin thought to himself. She nodded and laid down on her back next to him. They sat quietly, absorbing the awkwardness. Robin swallowed his pride and opened his mouth, "I'm really sorry, Star!" He started with his nerves kicking into high gear, "I shouldn't have snapped on you—and— I should've paid more attention to everything you were doing..." Robin confessed as he stared into the ceiling.

"It is okay. I understand..." Starfire started as she rolled over to face Robin instead of looking at the ceiling. He leaned he head to hers, locking eyes with a grin. "I am very sorry I left!" She whispered as she grabbed Robin's hand and held it tightly.

"Star, I uh—realized something..." Robin started nervously. He felt his face flush and his hands started to sweat. "While you were gone..." Robin started as Starfire watched Robin struggle to speak his mind. She could hear his heart hammering as his pulse picked up. "I was losing my mind when you left and..." Robin took a deep but shakey breath. "I—I love you." He blurted and instantly closed his eyes, terrified of her reaction.

"Oh joy!!" Starfire shouted as she shot into the air. Robin opened his eyes to see her above trying to contain her excitement! "I have had the love for you for some time! I just did not know if you had it too!" She shouted as she flew above him happily, giggling through her excitement. Robin felt like a huge weight had been lifted off his chest. He'd held in his feelings for so long and he felt a huge relief that she felt the same. He smiled with Starfire, watching her fly above him giggling. She bent down in the air and gave Robin a kiss, sandwiching his face in between both of her hands. This brought them both back to Tokyo and they felt that same excitement now as they did back then. She landed softly next to him and snuggled up at his side. "I left because I thought you did not have the love and everyone did not care for me anymore...but now I know that is false!" She spoke softly but confidently with a huge smile.

"There's one more thing..." Robin started nervously, "I'm taking a break from being the leader. I'm appointing Bumblebee and Cyborg Heads of the team until I'm fully recovered and have taken some personal time off." Robin pauses as he watched Starfire's face next to his. Their noses were inches from touching as she waited for him to continue. "I—I really need a break....mentally and physically...and I—uh—wanted to focus on you more. Like, maybe taking you out on a date—or something...fun?" Starfire could tell Robin was struggling to spit out the words that hung in his mind. He had never been good at expressing himself, especially how he feels.

"Sounds wonderful!" Starfire mumbled as she gave him a soft kiss on the cheek. They sat for the rest of the night, talking about date ideas and places they'd like to go until they fell asleep.

Cyborg grabbed a few things to make Bee feel a little more at home. He got her favorite shampoo and conditioners. She had a couple of different conditioners she liked so he made sure he got them all incase he got one wrong. He went through and got her a bathrobe, slippers, and some regular toiletries like a toothbrush and deodorant. He didn't want her to worry about running out of or forgetting anything this first couple of weeks. He, then went through the candy isle and got all of the fruity/gummy candies she loved and proceeded to check out. He rushed home in the T-car and washed the sheets and made the bed. He laid out everything on the freshly made bed in an arrangement below the pillows. He sighed a content sigh before noticing it was 2:30 in the morning. Bee would be here in less than 4 hours so he needed to get a quick recharge. He went into his work room and laid on his charging table to avoid messing up the bed. He laid there, wide awake with excitement for everything that was about to happen in the morning.
