Sins

When we had lost the war, they had punished us based on our sins.

If you were a politician or ceo of a huge corporation, they melted gold on top of your head, forming a crown that would forever symbolize your greed. If you were a sexual deviant you were raped by their machines until your heart gave out.

When they found my 500 pound self huddled under a bridge, they deemed me a glutton. I was hauled from my hiding spot and placed on a truck, headed to some unknown destination. Covered in shit and tears, I feared what they would do to someone who couldn't run from their torture. I had heard stories of them sending their beasts after gluttons, laughing as they stumbled and fell and were ripped apart by large claws and teeth.

The truck stopped and I was greeted by blinding lights. They pushed me off, and I was greeted not by a monster, but by the most beautiful woman I'd ever laid eyes upon. There was gym equipment around her, and she said something about losing weight. She gave me a choice: lose it or die. I chose lose. And with that, they started to exercise me. It was weird at first, but they assured me that they meant no harm. And over the course of a few months, I began to trust them. They fed me and made me strong. And as I got stronger, they cheered me on. They were kind to me, and I felt happy.

But then the guards attacked me in the night, force feeding me and injecting my blood with fats and cholesterol. Months of work was gone in weeks, and I had returned to my hefty frame. I cried as they threw me into a pit, begging for an explanation to what I did wrong.

One guard, before leaving, told me:

As a glutton, you were never given the chance to realize your potential to live a healthy and free life, unrestricted by your body's inhibitions. We gave you the methods to see that. See a better life, see what you missed, and see what you'll never have again.

And as I was left in darkness, the low growls of something hungry began next to me.
