Chapter 9

"Why won't you just tell me what I want to know!" Snart yelled out in frustration, he was getting nowhere with Y/N.

"I'm never gonna tell you what you wanna know," she said back weakly while coughing up blood.

"If I can't get through to you then maybe I can get through to him," Snart said heading for the door.

"No!" Y/N yelled as loud as she could, she knew that he meant Barry.

Snart turned with a smug look on his face, "That's your weakness, isn't it? He's your weakness," he snickered. "Now why is that, you've lost some people close to you haven't you?" he asked practically grinning from ear to ear.

Y/N blankly stared at him with a look of disgust and hatred, she had no intention of speaking with Snart about all those that she'd lost in her life.

"Parents...Family?" Snart perked up as Y/N tensed at his last words. Y/N's thoughts drifted her back to that night, she heard their screams and cries for help. And then she remembered herself, powerless to help them.

Y/N had been stuck in this warehouse for what felt like forever. In reality, it had been roughly a few days. Snart kept persisting with the same questions. Y/N had been, beaten, punched, hurt with knives, and the cold gun, but still, she remained silent. She was completely depleted, the power dampening cuffs kept her from healing fast, she felt the excruciating pain...she was human again.

At S.T.A.R. Labs Cisco had been working on a way to find Y/N, as was the rest of the team. CCPD had even been informed of the situation by Joe and brought in on the investigation.

"Anything?" Barry asked entering the Cortex. He was a mess, and everyone saw it, but what could they do, the only thing that would help Barry was Y/N, and she was nowhere to be found. He rarely went home, spent most of his time at CCPD or the lab, his focus always on finding Y/N.

"I think this emblem might be able to help us," Julian said bursting into the Cortex and up to Cisco. "There is a version of Gideon in the suit, and it's stored in the emblem."

The team looked at Julian in confusion, they didn't understand how that information was relevant to the current problem.

"Really?" Julain said as if it was obvious. "If it's stored in the emblem then the same is said for its memory core."

"Meaning it contains stored information, meaning it might have stored her last known location," Cisco finished before snatching the emblem out of Julian's hand and rushing over to a computer.

"The old sawmill on the edge of town...go!" Julian yelled as Barry pushed past him and out of the Cortex.

Barry burst through the doors, "CCPD is on the way," Cisco said through the coms. Barry entered further into the building. He rounded a corner and saw Y/N, she was restrained and bloody. Barry raced to her and quickly undid her restraints, he checked her over and noticed the amount of blood surrounding her. Her body leaned against Barry's for support, Barry noticed the state of exhaustion that she was in.

"Don't do this to me Y/N, don't give up on me," Barry said on the verge of tears as he examined her condition.

"Barry?" Y/N asked wearily as she could barely open her eyes.

"Yeah, it's me...I'm here," he replied gently wrapping his arms around her. Y/N smiled at the sound of his voice before her breathing became fast and heavy.

CCPD arrived and entered the building, they set up a perimeter. They saw both of the Flashes, one seriously injured before they captured Snart, Singh walked up to Barry and knelt by his side.

"She's more than just a friend to you isn't she?" he asked looking at how Barry cradled her body in his arms.

"You have no idea," Barry said before speeding out of the building with Y/N tightly wrapped in his arms.

Barry brought Y/N back into the Cortex and laid her down as gently as possible as Caitlin and Julian began their work. They removed her suit jacket only to reveal the damage that Snart had done to her. Y/N had been beaten that was obvious, but for what they didn't know; whatever it was Snart wasn't ready to give up.

That's when it happened, her heart stopped. The steady beep on the monitor came to a screeching halt as Y/N slipped into cardiac arrest. Barry ran to her side, in an attempt to save her, but Joe quickly rushed in and pulled in out of the room, he refused to leave. Cisco helped Joe pull Barry away, tears escaping his eyes.

"NO! She's my wife, Joe...I can't just leave her," Barry snapped back angrily as he saw Julian and Caitlin struggling to resuscitate her.

"Barry! Julian and Caitlin can save her, you have to give them space and time...okay?" Cisco pleaded as he headed back to the med bay.

After hours of excruciating pain and waiting, Caitlin and Julian had finished patching up Y/N. After a few minutes she awoke, Y/N thanked them as they left the room, she turned her head to face Barry who was sitting next to her. Barry sat next to Y/N for a few minutes before he felt her squeeze his hand softly. His glance shifted from the ground to her eyes, her beautiful sparkling eyes. Barry forced a weak smile, he knew how bad Y/N had been treated by Snart. He slowly leaned down and kissed her lips, he pulled and saw the sad expression on her face.

"I thought I'd lost you," he said gently raising his hand to rub away her tears.

"I don't plan on leaving you anytime soon," Y/N said back.

"I'm gonna hold you to that," Barry joked before leaning in and kissing her again.
