Chapter 43

"So, I have a question for you," Y/N said as Barry brushed his thumb over her knuckles. Y/N laid in his lap in their bed, his back resting against the headboard. Another gloomy day rose outside, the thunderclouds could be seen rolling in over the city through their window.

"And what is this question exactly?" Barry asked as Y/N rested her head against his chest, and he rested his head on top of hers.

"Well, it's not exactly my question, it's Cisco's," Y/N explained. "The glove that Eliza used to toss me into that brick wall, Cisco thinks that if he could get his hands on it, that he might be able to track where it came from, he thinks that Thawne might have made it. He was wondering if you could grab it from the evidence lockup at CCPD?"

Barry pondered the thought for a moment, "I don't know, it might not even be in the lockup anymore," Barry explained. Y/N looked up at him for a moment, putting on her best sad face, "Fine," Barry caved. "I will find the glove and bring it to Cisco."

Y/N smiled up at him before kissing him, "Thank you," she said resting her hand against his chest.

"Yeah yeah," Barry scoffed. "You'd know I'd do anything for you, you should know by now that you don't even have to ask."

Y/N laughed, "Yeah, but it's just so much fun," she joked as Barry hugged her, gently pulling her closer to him.

"Speaking of Eliza how are you feeling?" Barry asked as he looked down towards her ribs, the bruising beginning to go away, Barry gently brushed his fingers over the area.

Y/N slightly flinched at the feeling, "I'm fine, I promise," Y/N said reassuringly to Barry.

"What about your leg, how is it feeling?" Barry asked.

"It is feeling fine, I am feeling fine, I'd feel better if you stopped asking me if I'm fine every few minutes," Y/N joked. "It's raining," she said observing the weather outside their window.

"I know," Barry hummed, he too had noticed the weather outside, the overcast skies, the rain just beginning to fall.

"I hate the rain," Y/N said looking up at Barry, placing a gentle kiss on his jaw, his stubble tickling her lips.

"But you like the lighting," Barry said smiling down at her.

"But I like the lightning," Y/N hummed as she relaxed into Barry's chest, gently tugging the blanket up further on their bodies. She gently fumbled with Barry's ring as he did the same with hers.

Barry smiled as he watched her, the light dancing across her ring perfectly reflecting the diamond's beauty, much like her own. "I'm heading down to the station; after I bring Cisco his glove, maybe you could join me," Barry offered.

Y/N looked outside and then back at Barry, "I'd like that," she replied, planting a kiss on his lips.

"And I really like that," Barry smiled.

Y/N laughed, "I'm sure you do."

---------------------------------------------------------------------

"Cisco?" Barry called out as he entered the lab, he didn't even see anyone in the Cortex, a rare occasion at S.T.A.R. Labs. "Cisco," Barry called again.

Barry heard a familiar chuckle from behind him, "Cisco's not coming to your rescue, or anyone's for that matter anytime soon..."

Barry turned around and saw him, "Eobard," he spat out.

"Barry," he replied with a chuckle. "It's been so long..."

"Not long enough," Barry muttered. "Are you almost done wasting your life on mine yet?" he asked.

"Please, I'm not done with you until your dead," Thawne smirked. "But by all means, feel free to prepare yourself for what's to come, Barry, because I don't think even you and your wife are strong enough to stop it...run, Barry...run..."

And then Thawne was gone, again, Barry didn't bother chasing him, there was no use. Barry's main focus was to find Cisco, and figure out where everyone else was, but before that he wanted to make sure that Y/N was okay at CCPD.

"Are you okay?" Barry asked as he sped into his lab. Y/N sat in his chair, wearing his sweatshirt sipping on a cup of coffee from C.C. Jitters.

"Yeah," Y/N replied. "Is there a reason that I shouldn't be?" she questioned.

"Just stay here, and call Joe if you need anything," Barry said hurriedly walking back out, just as fast as he had come.

Barry ran back to S.T.A.R. Labs and began looking for Cisco, his search ended when he entered the pipeline, Cisco sat in one of the metahuman cells, looking bored out of his mind.

"It's about time," he muttered as Barry opened the cell door. "I thought The Flash would be faster than that," Cisco scoffed.

Barry smirked, "My bad, how did Thawne even get you in that cell?" Barry asked.

Cisco stopped walking back towards the Cortex and turned to face Barry, "Okay...one, he had superspeed, last time I checked I do not have super speed, two, I found out where he has been hiding this whole time and possibly why, and three, he has superspeed!" Cisco shouted.

Barry put his hands up in surrender, "Okay sorry for asking," he apologized.

"We haven't been able to find him because he's been moving too fast, he's running from something."

"What is Eobard Thawne possibly scared of?" Barry asked Cisco.

"I don't know, but I think that Y/N might be able to help us, along with Harry, who's on his way, but I need you to bring Y/N down here," Cisco explained. "No more waiting, we're bringing the fight to Thawne, ending this once and for all."

"Got it."
