Chapter 2

Three weeks later:

Y/N had just managed to take down 2 bank robberies in the last hour before heading back to S.T.A.R. Labs. As she entered Cisco gave her a high five, Caitlin and Julian were at the station with Joe, and Wally was nowhere to be seen. The entire team missed Barry, but they all knew that he was okay and in the speed force.

"You just surpassed your top speed...again," Cisco said observing the data sent by her suit. He noticed that she had been putting in overtime lately working on her speed.

"That's the second time this week," Caitlin said sounding impressed as she entered the Cortex, Julian by her side.

"I don't know, it's just not the same out there. It feels weird being alone," Y/N said a little saddened by the thought.

"Just wondering, how long does 'rebirth' usually take?" Cisco asked raising a brow at Y/N.

"It took me 2 weeks, but it took Jay Garrick 3 months. The longest I've ever seen was 6 months, but I really doubt it will take Barry that long," Y/N replied, she hoped that had answered Cisco's question, but it only left him with more. Cisco was about to ask something but was cut off when Joe entered the Cortex.

"We have a problem," he said.

"What now?" Y/N asked; Singh had been nagging her lately about what happened. But Y/N couldn't and didn't care to find time for him, her priority was the city.

"Singh, he is growing curious as to why Barry has been on his honeymoon for three weeks," Joe said. The team had feared that this would happen.

Y/N let out a stressed sigh, "At least fake Barry is having a honeymoon," Y/N said annoyed. The past three weeks had been hell. She had been worrying about Barry, fighting meta-humans, and now this.

"He better get back soon, or Singh will be the least of our worries," Cisco said.

"What do you mean by that?" Y/N asked with worry in her voice.

"Snart and his friends are back," Cisco said typing on his computers. Caitlin and Julian sat down next to him.

"Downtown, Gold City National Bank," Caitlin said before Y/N raced out of the lab and downtown.

An Hour Later:

Y/N ran back into the Cortex and collapsed on the floor. Caitlin, Julian, and Cisco rushed to her side. Snart had managed to hit her in the leg with his cold gun. Her entire leg was covered in 3rd-degree frostbite, after carrying her over to the medical bedmCaitlin managed to sedate her.

A few hours later Y/N woke and saw Joe sitting across from her.

"Hey," she said in a weak voice.

"Hey, you're awake," Joe said perking up. He thought of Y/N as a daughter, he got worried when Cisco had called and said that Snart had hurt her. He was just happy that she was okay. Y/N managed to sit up, she swung her legs over the edge of the bed and began to stand up. Joe supported her at first until she got comfortable.

They both entered the Cortex together, as they did the team looked away from their screens and turned their attention to Y/N.

"We need to get Barry back, and fast," Julian said.

"Why?" Y/N asked confused by his statement, "What happened?"

"While you were out Snart and his team managed to rob a jewelry store," Caitlin replied.

"Lucky for you Vibe was there to save the day," Cisco said walking into the Cortex and pulling off his gloves.

Y/N let out a sigh, she was exhausted by everything that had happened recently. "Thank you Cisco, for handling the situation," Y/N said thankfully.

"Well, don't count on it, Snart blasted my gloves. Vibe will not be making another appearance for a little while."

Just then the alerts started sounding once again.

"These guys never stop do they?" Y/N asked in frustration. She sped into her suit and turned to face the team, "Where are they this time?" Y/N asked.

"What are you doing?" Caitlin asked raising her voice.

Y/N shrugged, "Going to save the day?" she replied as if it wasn't obvious.

"Your leg isn't fully healed yet," Julian cut in.

"Are you gonna go down there and save those people? No, that's what I thought, " Y/N snapped back.

"You can't just go out there risking it all like this Y/N, you are all this city has left," Caitlin protested. "Maybe, you should just wait until we find a way to get Barry back."

"Barry might not back here for a while, he could be dead for all we know," Y/N yelled out in frustration.

Julian shook his head, "It's like you don't even want him back."

"Wayne Enterprises downtown," Cisco said. Before anyone could intervene Y/N had already sped out of the Cortex.

Caitlin threw her hands in the air out of frustration, "What the hell Cisco?"

"Someone needed to save the day, and we all know the only person that can do that is her."

After Y/N sped off she found Snart standing in front of the building, he wasn't attacking it, he was waiting for Y/N to arrive.

"Just the Flash I was looking for, sorry to hear about your scarlet friend," Snart snickered; he knew that his comment would irritate Y/N.

"Get on with it, what do you want?" Y/N asked. Snart was getting on her nerves, it was hard to ignore.

"For this city to be mine, but I need to get rid of you for that to happen," Snart said blasting the icy fire from his gun at Y/N. Y/N dodged and managed to get him from behind, but he reacted quickly. The battle continued on for several minutes, Snart targeted his blast at the ground and caused Y/N to slip on the ice, she rolled to the ground. Snart chuckled and walked over to her, he stood over her and said,

"Like I said before, I never lose." Before Snart could send his final blast, a portal opened and a streak followed, it knocked Snart off his feet. Y/N laid still for a moment in shock before looking at what had saved her.

"Barry?" Y/N said standing up, a smile growing on her face.

"You looked like you needed a quick assist," he said stepping towards her until their bodies connected once more, he embraced her in his arms. He wrapped his arms around her tightly, never wanting to let go again. He buried his face in her hair.

"I remember...everything," Barry said pulling away to see Y/N face to face, his arms still snug around her.

"And?" she asked staring into his eyes.

"And I'm sorry, I lied to you," he said hugging her once again, she could hear his sobs. Barry felt terrible knowing that he had left Y/N alone, that she had been in pain, and that he was the cause of that pain.

"What are you talking about?" Y/N asked, she attempted to comfort him. Barry never had to apologize to her.

"I promised you that I'd never leave you, I'm sorry," Barry said crying as he pulled her closer.

"You never have to be sorry Barry," Y/N said cupping his face in her hands and gently rubbing his tears away with her thumbs. She pulled him in for a kiss, one that was long overdue. She pulled away, their foreheads still touching, "I missed you," she said smirking into another kiss.

"I missed you too," Barry said bringing her close to him again, as Y/N tucked her head neatly under his chin. Barry never wanted to let go ever again, neither did Y/N.
