Chapter 6

"I think I found something," Cisco said motioning for Y/N to join him at his desk of computers. "Some mob group has been transporting weapons all over the city, they described them as unearthly," he said looking directly at Y/N. They both knew how dangerous these weapons could be in the wrong hands.

"Let me guess, one of the shipments was infiltrated," Y/N guessed. Cisco nodded, he continued typing until photos appeared on the screens in the Cortex.

"These are definitely Dominator weapons, meaning we should be able to track them pretty easily," Julian said entering the Cortex, he soon began working with Cisco.

"Keep working, I'm gonna go check on Barry," Y/N said before speeding out of the Cortex and back to the apartment. She found Barry right where she had left him. Y/N walked towards him, she noticed that he was very peacefully asleep, it was cute. She couldn't resist smiling while she covered him with a blanket.

As Y/N did so Barry's eyes fluttered open, "Hey," he said sitting up and rubbing his tired eyes and sitting up.

"Hey, take it easy, you're still hurt," Y/N said putting her hands on his bare chest and restraining him from standing up, she sat down next to him.

"I'm fine," he protested tilting his head at Y/N, he didn't enjoy being like this.

Y/N gave him a look of doubt, "Really? Because that bruise on your side says otherwise."

"Maybe you should stay with me," Barry said putting his hands on her waist and pulling Y/N onto the couch with him. She giggled as he did so, her head resting gently against his shoulder, their hands intertwined. "Did you talk to Cisco about the weapons?" he asked as he played with her hands.

"Can we please not talk about the Flash and just relax. Just you and me," Y/N said looking up into his eyes, "Just us." Barry wrapped an arm around her and pulled Y/N into his chest.

"Sounds perfect to me, just me and my beautiful wife," he murmured into her hair.

Y/N smiled at the thought, "You really enjoy saying that don't you?" Y/N laughed.

"I have been waiting since the day I met you to call you that," Barry defended.

"I guess we haven't really had any time just to ourselves, have we?"

"Yeah," he agreed. "First Wally, then the speed force, now these new weapons, I'm starting to think the universe might have something against us," Barry joked.

"All that matters is you and me, right here, right now."

"I couldn't agree more," Barry said leaning down and kissing her.

The next day:

Cisco, Julian, and Caitlin had been working around the clock on tracking the shipments of alien weapons, CCPD managed to stop the shipments and find who was behind them. However, the group that robbed the bank still had some of the weapons in their possession.

Barry and Y/N were at S.T.A.R. Labs eating Big Belly Burger with Wally when Cisco's alerts began sounding.

"Perfect timing," Barry said putting his burger down and speeding into his Flash suit, Y/N doing the same.

"They're attacking CCPD," Wally said taking control of one of Cisco's many computers.

"Got it," Y/N replied before speeding to CCPD, Barry just behind her. They both got to the scene and saw 3 men holding Joe and Singh, with guns to their heads. Y/N proceeded cautiously, her hands in the air.

"We're not here to hurt you, just let them go," Y/N said gesturing to Joe and Singh. One of them who seemed like the leader of the group stepped forward, he smirked.

"You think we care about them?" He chuckled as he walked closer to Y/N. "They are merely pawns, in a much larger game of chess. You see, there is someone very interested in you two," he said waving his finger at Y/N and Barry as he paced around. "That someone gave us these weapons," he said raising the alien gun he held in his hand, "And we won't be disappointing him tonight. You can't stop us...nothing can."

"I think you're wrong about that," Y/N said sternly. He looked at her confused, he didn't understand the point that she was getting at.

Y/N smirked before she sped in and grabbed both Singh and Joe and pulled them to safety. Once she finished Barry ran in and managed to steal two of the weapons, leaving only one. The last man standing shot Barry in the leg when he was distracted, and Y/N in the stomach, sending her flying into a wall, then collapsing to the ground.

Barry's wounds weren't terribly serious but hurt like hell. He was about to send the final shot at Barry when a gunshot rang throughout the area. Barry looked around and saw Singh with a gun in his hand. Barry let out a sigh of relief, that was until he saw Y/N on the ground, not moving. He tried to stand but immediately fell to the ground as he did so, he groaned in agonizing pain. Singh rushed to his aid, Barry blurred his face as Singh approached him.

"You good?" he asked before waving the medical team over.

"No, help her," Barry said wincing in pain as he motioned at Y/N. Barry once again tried to get up, and again he failed.

Singh held Barry down, restricting him from getting up, "Stay down kid, stay down." Barry still thrashed around due to the pain in his leg.

"No, I have to get to her," Barry said trying to wriggle out of Singh's grip. Lucky for both of them Vibe came to save the day. Cisco arrived and pulled Barry through a portal back to S.T.A.R. Labs first before heading back and grabbing Y/N.

Barry was set down on one of two medical tables in the Cortex, Y/N in the one beside him. Caitlin and Julian began work on his leg, but he stopped them.

"Help her, she needs it more," Barry said weakly. They both nodded and shifted from Barry to Y/N, Cisco rushed to Barry's side.

Cisco cringed at the sight of Barry's leg, the weapon didn't cause much bleeding, but a lot of pain, Y/N, however, had it worse considering that she was shot in the abdomen. Cisco grabbed Barry's hand, Barry squeezed his hand so hard that it cracked his knuckles. Barry was in tremendous pain, but he feared for Y/N, she was just injured by an alien weapon, and he was powerless to help her.

Seeing Y/N's chest struggle to rise and fall caused Barry's stomach to drop, his mind racing back to the thought of losing her over and over again.

Eventually, Barry's eyes grew heavy, his eyelids feeling like weights that he could no longer keep open, his breaths began to feel rushed, and he slowly drifted into a state of unconsciousness.
