Chapter 37

Barry and Y/N made their way down the hallway, their arms around each other as they staggered towards the Cortex; that was until Barry stopped them.

He took a moment to catch his breath, "Can we just stay here?" Barry asked.

Y/N nodded, "Yeah," she said helping Barry sit down, his back resting against the wall.

"So what happens next?" Barry asked.

"I'm going to run to Earth 3, tell Jay what to do, and then come back," Y/N explained. "I'll be back before you know it."

"Y/N," Barry interrupted. "I can't do this, not alone," he said shaking his head.

"Yes, you can Barry," Y/N assured. "I know that you can do this, you have to keep pushing, you can do this," she said cupping his face in her hands.

"Y/N, once I stop moving...it's game over. I don't know how much longer I can hold on," Barry cried.

"I'll be quick."

"Y/N," Barry pleaded.

Y/N sat down next to him, "Listen to me Barry, I don't know if this is going to work, or how this is all going to end, but I love you, and I can't imagine my life without you. Every minute that we have together is incredible...I love you."

"And I love you," Barry said putting his hands on both sides of her face, "We can do this...I believe in you...now go."

Barry watched as she stood up and began walking away, he quickly reached out and grabbed her hand, pulling her lips down to his, "Come back to me," he mumbled against her lips.

"Always," she replied before leaving once more.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Y/N stumbled on her feet as she made her way onto Earth 3.  She was exhausted, her eyelids felt like weights that she could no longer keep open, her muscles ready to give way at any point.

Before she knew it Jay Garrick had found her, quick to ease her into a sitting position, "Y/N, what's happening, what happened to you?" he frantically asked.

"There's no time, you need to run back to 9:32 p.m. in Central City, the warehouse district. There is a woman named Eliza Morris there, she has an enhanced nuclear bomb, you need to stop her before it detonates," Y/N quickly explained as she stood up, Jay steadying her balance. "I need to go back, can you do this?"

"Yeah," Jay replied, "I'll be sure to hurry."

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Y/N made her way down the hall to where Barry was, he was far worse than when she'd left. She collapsed next to him, "You came back," he panted, barely keeping his eyes open, she could tell that he'd been crying.

"I said I would," she replied, Y/N gently put her hand out and grabbed Barry's holding it tight.

"I'm not sure how much longer I can hold on," Barry choked out.

"Me either." When Barry didn't answer Y/N looked up only to see that Barry's eyes were no longer open. "Please hurry Jay, please hurry," she begged as her breathing became heavy and black spots began to taint her vision until soon enough, everything went black.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Where are they?" Caitlin shouted down the halls as she and Julian frantically searched for Barry and Y/N.

"Found them!" Julian called out, "Caitlin, they're down here," he yelled as Caitlin came rushing to his side.

She crouched down beside Barry and examined him, "I've got a pulse, but it's faint," Caitlin said checking over Barry.

"I do too, just barely, but it's there," Julian replied, looking over Y/N. "We have to get them back to the med bay."

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"So what happened exactly?" Julian asked Jay as he stood in the med bay, Barry and Y/N lay in beds in front of them, each of them finally stable.

"Y/N came to Earth 3 and she looked terrible, she told me what to do, she didn't say why just that there was no time. Before I knew it she was leaving again, so then I ran here back to when she told me to and I stopped Eliza Morris like she told me to," Jay explained.

Harry nodded along, "They brought time to a stop once the bomb detonated, put us all in a super speed stasis-"

"Flash-time," Cisco interrupted. "It's called Flash-time."

Harry brushed it off, "They put us all in Flash-time for a countless number of hours, running themselves to the breaking point. We remember what happened because they brought us all into Flash-time, whereas everyone else in the city...they don't remember a thing," Harry explained. "They remained in stasis for a longer time than the rest of us, they were the causal factors of the stasis-"

"So they were unmoved by the changes that I made to the timeline," Jay finished.

"Exactly," Harry confirmed.

"Well, they're both okay, even though they should be dead, the speed force has been completely drained from their systems, they were prepared to die for this city," Caitlin explained.

"They're heroes, it's what they do," Cisco chimed in. "No matter the costs."

Julain shook his head, "It was a risky move, even for them. However, the real question is who was behind all of this."

"Eliza Morris," Joe said entering the med bay, his eyes lingering over Barry and Y/N before focusing his attention on Julian. "She was responsible for this whole thing, no ties to Thawne, I checked...twice."

Cisco scoffed, "So this was just another crazy person in Central City, she had no connection to Thawne whatsoever?" Cisco questioned.

Joe shrugged, "I don't know what to tell you Cisco."

"Come on guys, let's let these two rest," Caitlin said ushering them out of the room.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Do you think that I should start playing Poker Face by Kesha?" Cisco asked as he and Caitlin sat next to Barry and Y/N who were still unconscious in the med bay, even after 3 days.

"What?" Caitlin asked.

Cisco sighed, "When Barry first got his powers he was in a coma for nine months, until I checked his Facebook page, found out his favorite song and played it. Then, BOOM! He's awake and I saved the day once again," Cisco bragged.

Caitlin scoffed, "Please, that was pure luck."

"Pure luck or skill, there is a fine line," Cisco replied.

"Which side you fall on is yet to be determined," Caitlin joked.

Cisco laughed with her, "When do you think they're gonna wake up?" Cisco asked as he glanced over at his friends.

Caitlin shrugged, "I have no idea, Julian and I have pumped their systems full of pure adrenaline and fluids, there is no reason as to why they shouldn't be awake. I might go get something to eat," Caitlin said as she stood up, "Do you want anything Cisco?"

He shook his head, "I think I'll just sit here and wait, but if I play Poker Face and one of them wakes up, you owe me like twenty bucks," he challenged.

"Oh you're on," Caitlin said with a soft laugh as she exited the med bay.
