Touching

Thorin: Hey, I'm taking you to school today.

It seemed like Thorin wanted to take me to school today in his illegal car that he bought with his illegal money that he got by illegally gambling because he joined an illegal underground fight club. Did I mention that it was illegal? But I knew it was, I saw it with my own two eyes. Right in front of me, as Thorin threw one punch and knocked the guy out.

Me: Good, we can talk on our way to school then.

I'll admit, I was a little cranky. I was up all night and then going to school with only a cup of green tea helping me. Coffee wasn't my forte, and so the caffeine I was ingesting was a tiny minuscule to what I've been used to ingesting with little sleep. It was kind of good that Thorin was willing to drive because I was obviously too tired to be able to function on the road.

Thanks to still having time to actually try with an outfit, that's what I did. Was it out of pettiness because there was a little tension between Thorin and I? Yes. But at least I was willing to admit it. It wasn't even something bad, either. Just a t shirt that was actually my size and jeans that happened to make my assets more... apparent. Were they the same jeans that I was wearing when that one guy said that he liked my ass? Yes.

I watched as the black car rolled into my driveway. Mom's car was gone thanks to her job, so my car was riding solo until Thorin decided to show up. It was bright out when I walked out and Thorin must of thought the same when he stepped out with black sunglasses on his face. They did make him look pretty cool, but that was something I never would have told him.

He smirked, slightly tilting his glasses a little forward so I could see his eyes. I eyed him, when he opened the passenger door for me. "Flora." My name rolled off of the Irish tongue.

"Thorin." My cheek was kissed, the only thing that was going to be kissed at that moment. Thorin thought he was slick, but he was indeed not that day. I caught him as I was getting him with his eyes on me, especially the lower part of me. He tried to play it cool by closing the door after I got in and slowly strolled to his side.

The ride to school was somewhat silent because it was in the morning, my ass was tired and still a little upset about him stealing from me. Plus Thorin seemed like he was still irritated about me and Mel following him to where he was fighting. Hey, at least he now has a cousin who is going to support him though she would probably try to fight him. But at least there was a silver lining in this dark cloud.

I eyed him as subtly as I could without him knowing I was indeed being a creeper. But my ass had a good reason for being a creeper. I was trying to see if he was going to say something because I wasn't. But I knew how I could get him to crack and say something. Again, I was petty and pretty cranky at this point.

Breathing slowly, trying to keep my heart rate at a pace that wouldn't go all crazy and make me end up going to the hospital, I placed my hand on his leg. Technically, he said that I could touch him whenever and wherever so that's what I did. I picked Thorin's leg to get his attention and make him speak up a little bit. I know, it was a smart idea. At least his jeans were warm and helped fight against the chilly morning.

There still wasn't any talking. We were going to have to go into phase two of this mission. Swallowing the lump in my throat, I tried to keep my nerves at bay. I would have been cooler if I had the right amount of sleep and caffeine but I was going to have to use whatever my body produced naturally to make sure I didn't die from nerves. But I got this, ya girl got this to make this boy squirm.

I gave the thigh that was covered in black skinny jeans, a little squeeze. Nothing too drastic but something that someone wouldn't be able to ignore. Just a tiny squeeze thanks to my thumb that was gently digging and rubbing the flesh. This is the part where I thought I had won.

The car stopped in the parking lot of the school and I knew it was time for us to talk. How did I know this? Thorin sighed and everyone knows that means that there's something on a person who sigh's mind. But nothing more than a sigh came out but my hand still remained firm on his thigh. If he was going to want it off, he was going to have to tell me to take it off.

Suddenly, his hand grasped mine and began to raise it. I didn't think about the fact that he could have just taken it off, but he didn't. It was slightly raised and dragged up from the part that right above his knee. I watched as the tattooed hand moved mine, not downward but upward. Before I could realize what he was doing, I was close to something that I didn't I was ever going to be close to touching.

"Thorin!" I squeaked, pulling my hand away and pretty much losing this little war.

"What! You're the one who put your hand on my leg." I wanted to wipe the smirk he had the whole morning off of his face. It meant that I had lost and he had known it. But at least I held up a pretty good fight.

"Because I wanted you to say something." I looked away, rethinking my plan. "I'm still irritated about what happened."

"Do you really want to talk about it here or would you rather come to my house tonight when I know that we'll be alone?" itook a deep breath when thinking about his offer. It was true, we could be truly alone and discuss what had happened instead of having idiots surround us.

"Fine, but we're really going to talk about this."

He grinned. "Of course." Even though I probably shouldn't have, I felt better after that. So much so, I didn't even mind when Thorin placed his hand on the small of my back and walked with me into the school.

It seemed like every teacher that taught my classes were beginning to not give a shit and allowed to do whatever we wanted. Because of this, school was becoming a blur for me.

When it was time for Mr. Louis's class, I saw the old man when walking into his class. I was early for the class, making it only the two of us. He didn't say anything, allowing his mind to drift off to space. I blinked and had to really think if he was the same guy that I did down in the fight circle. Yes, they both had the wispy white hair with the big bald spot on the back of the head and eyes the size of golf balls.

But the old guy that I was staring at while entering the class, didn't seem like he didn't even know that the word 'fight' meant.

Wait.

It meant it was an act.

I may have been a bitch and thought that I was indeed smarter and had more common sense than Mr. Louis. But because of his dumbness, I never thought that he would have connections to such a thing. It was the perfect cover so that nothing would be traced back to him.

"Something the matter, Flora?" He called out from his desk with biggest grin I've ever seen.

"Nope." I said while more students came in. Yes, I could ruin his cover but I still lived by the rule of 'snitches get stitches'. I technically didn't snitch on Thorin, I just let his cousin take the wheel and follow him.

The class was also a blur. It wasn't until the lunch bell had rung that I realized that class was over. Thorin stood up, eyeing me so we could walk to lunch together but nature called.

"Hey, I'll meet you in the cafeteria." I said to Thorin who blinked a couple of times at me.

"Alright." He went up to me, looking as if he was going to kiss me goodbye. I couldn't help but to slightly wince since there was still people around us. It wasn't that I didn't want to kiss him but I didn't want to be public with our affection. He realized this and smiled before he walked on and left me.

This was the beginning of the end of where school was going by fast and suddenly it dragged on. It all started by me walking into the bathroom. Thanking god, I walked into an empty bathroom that I didn't think that could do any harm. Of course, I had to be wrong. For some reason, the universe pointed me into the one of the stalls that I pushed slowly to enter. Upon entering the freshly cleaned stall, there was a picture.

A picture of me.

Now this wouldn't have been a problem if it wasn't for the fact that it was a picture of me plastered on the wall right above the toilet. But then again, Jace had his arm around me in the photo at the party that we had both attended. My head was turned to the side as if it was barely apart of my neck while Jace was looking at me, smiling.

I felt sick. And pissed. Mostly pissed but still kind of sick. Ripping the photo off from the wall, I stormed out of the bathroom ready to use whatever skills Thorin and Mel had taught me and find the person who put the photo on the wall. What made me even more mad was that they went out into the world to find a place that uploads pictures just to tape it to a bathroom wall where everyone else could see.

Again, the universe hated my guts and my forehead had the pleasure of pressing against something hard. "Woah there." Jace said, slightly chuckling.

"Do you know about this?" I hissed, holding up the photo.

He furrowed his brows. "What? No."

"Well now some of the girls in the school know about it. Thanks." The photo crumpled easily in my hand as I began to walk away from the asshole.

"Wait, Flora!" He began to walk after me. Not really the smartest idea because he was talking to someone who could ignore anyone, anything at any time. "Flora!" He called out again. I didn't look back because obviously he knew something. Jace some-last-name (sorry, I didn't take the time to remember it), was popular so he must of knew something about it.

My shoulder was touched by Jace's hand when we began to enter the cafeteria. I was still not a big fan of the whole touchy thing besides the people who were on my 'Good' list. The list included my mother, Blaire (If my mom can trust her, I guess I can too), Stacey, Mel and Thorin. Thorin was the newest addition to the list and probably the last one for awhile.

"I had no part in the taking of that picture." He gave my shoulder a little squeeze that made me kind of want to punch him in the face. Instead, I didn't say anything. I was a little preoccupied.

Not a lot of things really caught my attention or really made me jealous. But seeing Thorin walking into the cafeteria with Delia, the girl from the party, changed that. Seeing Thorin talking to other people is totally fine until the point that a girl was giggling and hanging her arm around him. I could see the discomfort that she was bringing to him by the way he scrunched up his face.

Maybe it was because I was pissed at the photo and or because Jace was all grabby with my shoulder but something in me kind of broke. Maybe it was because Delia had her phone out and speaking loudly, asking for Thorin's number. Either way, I didn't like it and decided to be a little bold, even without caffeine.

Shrugging off Jace's hand, I made my move. Literally, I moved and fast. Thorin noticed my quick pace and left an intrigued expression on his face. My eyelids felt a little heavy when they lowered themselves a quarter down my eyes. It didn't mean that I didn't keep my eyes on Thorin when walking to them. Thanks to my quick speed, I was up to the two in the matter of moments.

"Hey, Flora." Delia tried to talk to me but I wasn't having it.

Throwing out the whole 'low profile' I wanted to had, especially with Thorin and I's relationship, I decided to practically yell it to the world. Grabbing the side's of Thorin's cheeks, I pulled him down closer until his lips were on mine. I didn't need to look around the cafeteria to know that everyone was looking at us.

I felt it. Along with Thorin's lips.

Aahhh shiiit. I hope you enjoyed this chapter. Sorry if it seemed like I fell off the face of the Earth, I kind of did and this week has been real mushy. Remember:
