Bad Morning.

A soft knocking was at my door that woke me up from my warm slumber. Which by the way, was not my most favorable thing in the world. It was getting really cold and something wanted me to get out of my bed. Was I going to get out of my bed? Not if I had any say in it.

I kept my eyes closed as the person who knocked on my door waltz into my room. It was like playing dead in front of a bear. If you act like you're unconscious then they'll leave you alone. That's what I did with my mom all of the time. But for some reason it didn't work, usually, she would see that I was asleep, grunt and then leave me alone for a few more hours. That time, the person didn't leave my room.

Instead of leaving like I had intended them to, they took the black swivel chair that I used whenever studying at my computer desk. The wheels rolled loudly against the silence in the room, creating a noise that not even their footsteps could drown out. Closer, the wheels were coming closer to where my bed was. That wouldn't have been a problem if it wasn't for the fact that I was in my bed, defenseless in my warm blanket.

The cushions pushed out the excess air that was in them when the person sat on them, squeezing out their lives out. A faint smell of cigarettes smashed into my nostrils as the person pressed a weight down onto my mattress. Instantly, I knew who it was. It wasn't my mom being some creep and there is one other person who is willing to go into my room whenever they want to.

"Thorin?" I blinked a couple times at the black eyes that seemed to be staring at my soul. Around his eyes were his fingers that cupped his cheeks and supported him on my bed. On my bed. MY bed.

"I knew you were faking." He chuckled before leaning back into my chair. MY chair.

"Why are you in here?" I sighed, scooting my back closer to the wall and away from him.

"Well..." his voice trailed off. "Someone has been avoiding me at school so I decided to come over here." He cocked an eyebrow while smiling.

"So you come into my room like some stalker?" I said, annoyed and holding my blanket tightly around me. My body scraped against the wall as I sat up and stared at Thorin. It sounded annoying to my ears but it was better than laying down, defenseless.

"Eh, your mom told me to come and get ya. It felt weird walking up to your room instead of climbin' in." He laughed, rubbing the back of his head.

I sat there, crinkling my nose at the thought that my own mother would allow this. The woman that gave birth to me allowed this monster into my room. Sighing, I crossed my arms on my chest while staring at Thorin who was giving me a goofy smile who was once again, in my room.

"Let me get this straight, my mother, I mean birth giver," I said slowly, thinking about how she didn't deserve the title at the moment. "allowed you into my room, not even thinking how I would feel or what was going in here? What if I was naked or something?" Truthfully, I was more saying this to myself rather than to him and thinking of all of the 'what if's'.

"Wait, are you?" He asked, leaning forward.

This was the time that I should have acted normal and stay in my shell like an oyster in the ocean but for some reason, I didn't. My random courage boost just had to hit me at the wrong times. Thorin being in my room was a bad time because there was an obvious perv in my room that could kill me. Did I care? No, not really.

"It's my room. If I am, I am." I snorted.

Bad move Flora, very bad move.

My chair rolled slowly behind him as he stood up, pressing his hands on the blanket the covered my body. "Well.." He said, slowly scrunching up the fabric as his knees came onto the bed. Suddenly, a desert decided to come and make itself a home in my throat. Let's just say, it was really hard to swallow. "I can see that you have a shirt on."

His hands continued to slide up slowly, revealing every inch of my bare legs. "At least you can see." My voice came out calm though I wanted to shake more than a chihuahua. His knees kept moving closer to me while he kept looking down, smiling at my sarcasm. Speaking of knees, mine were exposed to the cold air at that point.

"But nothing pant wise." He added, moving the blanket farther up. His body used the space between my legs as space to crawl up to me. This made it hard to lift my leg up to his stomach to kick him off from my bed. I held in the oxygen in my lungs that burned as his fingers laced the once warm skin on my legs. He had gotten far, way too far, bunching up the blanket into a mountain of fabric.

"Okay, Thorin," I said, placing my hands on his shoulders. They were hard and broad, something that I wouldn't be able to move with ease. "I think it's time for you to go home." Damn my niceness because I could push really hard, I didn't. I gently yet somewhat firmly pushed on his shoulders. Of course, he didn't budge but I didn't want to hurt him.

"Actually, your mom invited me to breakfast." He eyed my lap. "You can't get rid of me that easily." He winked, taking my hands and moving them from his shoulders to around his neck. His flesh was warm compared to my freezing hands.

"Damn her." I mumbled while trying to keep the tiny distance between Thorin's torso and mine existing.

"Why do you say that?" The words came out as a whisper when our foreheads were pressed together, not really giving me any room to talk. "I thought you liked me having on your bed. That's what I figured from last time." He pulled me closer, scooting my butt from the wall to basically in his lap. The little space I talked about that separated Thorin and I? Yeah, that was done, non-existent.

Did this boy want me to avoid him even more? Because that is how you make me avoid you. My heart was pounding like it was having an attack that not even a doctor could save and plus I knew this was not the right time. It was in the morning and I knew for a fact that I had morning breath, yet his ass was all up on me. Pretty sure this was a tactic that some animals used to kill their prey but this was just cruel of him. He could have at least killed me while I pretended to be asleep.

His lips lingered closely to mine, acting as though he was going to use them. "Tell me, Flora." He growled lowly, sending a shiver down my spine that was taking a beating. It was still somewhat pressed up against the wall, clinging to it for dear life.

"As much as you find this sick joke funny, I find it very annoying," I said, turning my head to the side to get air. Not going to lie, he was beginning to take my air supply and I needed that to breathe and I didn't want to die because he thought this type of teasing was funny.

Thorin didn't say anything for a moment and sighed, releasing hot air to trickle down my neck. "I guess." He finally said, grazing his lips against my cheek before backing up and off from me. His hands went to my bare legs once more as he got up from my bed, leaving a last impression on the nerves. As for me, I remained there, trying to not freak out and remained calm. "Ready for some breakfast?"

"Not with you." I stuck out my tongue, feeling the goofiness return to Thorin. Throwing the blanket to the side, my toes were maliciously bitten by the cold floor like every other morning I got up.

"I like your blue shorts." His voice was monotone.

"Thanks, buddy."

********

My mother eyed Thorin, the same mother who let him in though a while back she said that I wasn't allowed to be near. She smiled when handing him a plate full of food while I, on the other hand, was trying to send her daggers to her head with my eyes. Thorin looked content while thanking my mom for the food.

"So Thorin, are you enjoying the states?" She asked while filling up a plate that I was hoping wasn't mine. Unfortunately, it was mine. Slyly, my mother slid a plate that was covered with food that I was not allowed to eat. It wasn't like there was anyone holding a knife over my head if I ate something, but my diet was a real bitch.

With a fork, I picked at the food and thought about all of the calories that were in each item. It was crazy, but I didn't just want to splurge on one meal and then feel bad for the rest of the day. The only thing that was on there that was somewhat eatable was the bacon and some of the eggs.

"Yes." He made sure to say in thick Irish accent though his words were muffled when cutting into one of the many pancakes my mother gave him. "It's pretty different from my hometown, but I like it."

"How are you doing in school? Do you need help with anything? I'm sure Flora would help you." I choked on the piece of scrambled egg that was going down my throat at the atrocious words that had the audacity to come out of my mother's mouth. The ugly words slithered in my ears and down to my throat, rattling the piece of once liquid chicken that was going to give me protein to the point there were tears in my eyes.

The fact that she offered my services which by the way, were not for people who did not have the name Flora Greensteen, made me wish that food did actually kill me. Unfortunately, it didn't it just took a lot of me waving my hands to give myself air and them looking at me like a crazy animal. Hey, there was a possibility that it would scare Thorin away.

"I'm-" I coughed. "I'm sure he's doing fine, mom. He doesn't need my help." I added to the conversation that was about me helping someone who could clearly help himself.

"That's quite alright, Mrs. Greensteen. Flora has already helped me out so much." He winked at me before looking at his plate once again.

My mom giggled, pretty much punching my gag reflex. "Oh, call me Kate." She slapped his shoulder.

"Oh mom," It was becoming quite obvious that this relationship between them was blossoming into this strange and strong friendship. Slowly, it was starting to grow by each laugh my mother and him shared. I had to stop it, Thorin could use that friendship against me. So what better way to stop someone from being your mom's friend? Tell them it's time to go. "don't we have that thing at the mall in a few minutes?"

She furrowed her eyebrows at me. "What thing honey? I don't remember having anything planned today except for this breakfast."

She had this breakfast planned? I was going to burn all of her shit.

"Yeah, we have that thing to do in the mall today." Pushing the plate in front of me, the chair scooted out from behind me. It didn't take long for me to walk to where Thorin had taken a seat, his seat was on the opposite side of where mine was but still close to my mother's. "I'm so sorry to cut this short, but you gotta go." I said to the Irish boy who looked at me with black puppy like eyes.

"Flora, we don't have anything planned for today." My mom laughed.

I turned my head away from Thorin to scowl at her. "Yes, we do." With hesitation, I gripped the dark green shirt that Thorin had on. The cotton slightly revealed what it was supposed to cover but unfortunately, the stupid giant wouldn't move freely. His chest was a canvas full of dark inks that just spelled out danger but my mom didn't see that. If she did, she would have been laughing with him like some school girl. "And every day next week."

"Actually honey, not next Friday." She added as Thorin finally got up from his chair.

"What? Why?" Still wrapped around my fingers was the intruder's shirt, causing him to bend his body to meet my height.

"Well..." She trailed off. "We both have a date."

"Aw, mom you want to go on a date with me?" I said, walking backward with Thorin. Ever since the incident at night when Thorin got into the fight, I knew the house like the back of my hand and didn't need to see where I was going.

"No, I'm going with someone and you're going with him." She pointed up and I instantly crinkled my nose.

"Is there a ghost in here or something?" My head was turned to the opposite side of the asshole that was in my hand. There was nothing though it would have been cool if there was a ghost next to me.

"Other side babe." Thorin said cheerfully.
