Surprises

It's one thing to have neighbors to come to your house because of a freak blizzard that was because the universe hated your guts because in some past like you were this super villain that would have made Ursula's tentacles quiver in fear or the evil stepmother from Cinderella pee her pants. But it's another thing when one of the particular neighbors decides it was okay to be in my room once again to wake me up once again. It didn't help that it was cold and I was beginning to hate the cold.

"Hey, Flora." The mattress underneath me dipped from the weight of an ass's ass.

My reflexes kicked in, forcing my leg to move from its cocoon to the side of Thorin's body with enough force to break a boulder. I jumped back, hitting my own body with my wall. "Mother fucker!" I yelled.

A groan came from Thorin who was rubbing at his bent over side. "Shit, you don't need to use your fists if you have legs like that." He said in between his groaning.

Short breaths were being produced by lungs and mouth when looking at Thorin. Of course, he had to be dramatic and roll onto his non-kicked side while on my bed. "What the hell are you doing here?" My foot nudged at him and his quickly wrinkling buttoned up shirt.

"I'm going to take you to school today." He eyed me after turning onto his back and resting his poor head onto my pillow that I was going to have to wash.

My eyes narrowed. "No, I have my own car."

"Pollution is a real bitch, Flora."

"You need to take your cousin to school." I tried to use another excuse to get him out of my bed and out of my house.

He clicked his tongue while giving me a grin that was reaching from ear to ear. "She's sick so it's just the two of us. We'll leave as soon as you get ready." He fully rested on the pillow and his eyelids collapsed, showing his dark eyelashes. "That is if you don't want to go today and just stay in here." An eye was slightly ajar for a moment before resting once again.

"Well," I scooted, slightly shaking the bed. "You're going to have to get out so I can get dressed."

"My eyes are closed." A loud smack came from his hand going against his eyes. "Don't worry, I won't peek."

I snorted. "Thorin, seriously."

"Seriously, Flora. I won't peek."

Huffing, I got up. "I swear to God, if you peek, I will kill you."

Heartburn was attacking my chest that caused my heart to pound faster than usual. In my closet, I was able to pick out some sweater that I had no idea that existed. It fitted, barely. The material enclosed on my bare sides in a tight manner that made me almost uncomfortable. My eye had caught the sight of the small pill bottle that I hid in my closet. Without a drink, I forced a pill down my throat to hopefully feel the effects of caffeine.

"Okay, I'm ready." There was a shuffling as I left the closet. Quickly, Thorin's hands went to his eyes once again.

"Great." His voice slightly cracked.

*******

The caffeine was settling in my system just as we arrived at the school. It was a miracle that I didn't somehow have a heart attack from the jittering my body was doing from the pills and Thorin's crazy driving. We were in the same car that he had used for our date. I didn't know how he paid for the expensive looking black car but I knew it wasn't with legal money.

Kids walked passed the car, talking to one and another. Some looked at the car while others acted like it was invisible. Either way, we sat there for a moment in silence.

I watched as Thorin turned off the car and released his hands from the steering wheel to his sides. He shirt was slightly wrinkled from my bed but the dark button up still looked nice on him. "Well, we're here." He sighed. His head moved to the side, allowing him to get a better view of me. "That sweater looks nice."

"Thanks. I didn't even know I had it." It felt like a scientist was inspecting me, looking at each curve of my body, each movement, and each quirk.

"Flora." He said in a deep tone.

"Wha-" My arm was grabbed, it's sleeved was rushed down to my elbow and before I could do anything underneath Thorin's tight grip, his lips were to the underbelly of my limb. "Thorin!" I wiggled but his lips remained to the flesh, sucking on it harshly.

Mixed emotions were rushing through me. I hated it. Actual hate rushed through me, mostly for myself, confusion was another one but also excitement. Confusion because it was painful yet not. Excitement because a taboo part of Thorin's body was sucking on my arm. I wanted to pull away, trust me, but something kept me there. Something in me wanted more, probably the same thing that was causing my heartburn.

I began to try getting out of the situation. My arm pulled as Thorin continued, using all the strength I had to make him move. His other hand went to my shoulder, anchoring me down into the moment.

"What the hell was that for!" I said while he wiped the corner of his mouth, backing away from my arm.

He smirked. "Surprise."

Anger had taken over me. Slamming the car door and flipping Thorin off, I walked away before I did something even more drastic. The area that Thorin sucked on throbbed to my pulse, reminding me each time of the event each time my heart decided to beat. It didn't help that I couldn't help but to touch it every other minute when entering the building.

Paranoia settled in when I was putting my stuff in my locker with the arm that was assaulted and its sleeve kept dropping down to reveal the bruise on my arm. Shoving the material back did nothing as it constantly slid whenever I used the arm.

"Why are you hiding it?" Thorin said into my ear, scaring the life out of me.

Before Thorin scared me the second time of the day, I was trying to get a few papers out of my locker. But since the asshole decided it was okay to make me jump, which he did, all of the papers in my hand went to the dirty floor. My eyes narrowed when I bent over to retrieve the fallen homework. I didn't even want the homework to turn in at that point, I just wanted to stack the papers together and give Thorin the world's worst paper cut.

"Damn it, Thorin." I hissed, still bent over to retrieve the things that were going to slice open Thorin.

"Sorry, I didn't mean to scare you there." He tried to help but he just made it worse when he moved to close to me, bumping me right on the head with his own. "Ow."

Huffing, I stood up. "Thorin, let me get this."

"Just let me help." He had most of the homework in his hands but that didn't make the situation better.

"I don't need your help."

Thorin stood up once the mess was all cleaned. The papers were all crunched up instead of their nice smooth surface they once had before he just had to scare me. "It's okay," he handed me the papers. "I don't want you bent over in front of all of these people." His body moved closer to mine, this time without hitting me in the head.

"Oh, how sweet of you." My voice was full of sarcasm.

He smirked while placing a hand on my hip. "I'm serious." His hand squeezed at my side. It wasn't anything hard but again, it wasn't something that could have been ignored.

"Bye, Thorin." I rolled my eyes, playing it cool though I thought I was actually moments away from having a heart attack.

"Wait! Flora!" He yelled out in the hallway only to be ignored by yours truly.

The rest of the day went by a blur though I did particularly remember that Terry once again failed a math test. But besides that, nothing. I was too busy fidgeting and listening to music to really think about anything else besides the fact that I had my first hickey ever.

Before I realized where I was, I was in Mr. Louis's class. My butt was in the same desk that I had taken the first day of the school year. Though it had already been a couple of hours, I was still thinking about the hickey that Thorin had left on me. My fingers slowly laced the purplish flesh that had finally stopped throbbing. It was still tender as I winced.

"Does it hurt?" Thorin said but at least this time didn't scare me.

"A little bit." I admitted, looking up at him. His eyes were on the spot, staring at it like a hawk. Suddenly, I became uncomfortable once again. Sai had this class as well and had taken the seat next to mine. We were pretty far apart but it didn't mean he couldn't see or hear what was happening between Thorin and I. He also wasn't the only one who could easily tell what was going on.

A girl was walking by to get to her friends were sitting a few seats up from us. She seemed nice and the moment she saw the bruise, she stopped and gasped. "What happened there?" Her long fingernail pointed to where Thorin's lips were.

"Oh, I just accidentally hit my arm. Nothing big." She made a small 'o' with her pale lips. "Next time, I'll make sure if something hits it again, I hit the thing back harder."

"Shit dude." She used the same finger she pointed at me to push a lock of her curly blonde hair away.

"Yeah." I laughed, acting normal as she walked away from the two of us.

Thorin grasped the sides of my arm, making sure to keep the tattooed fingers away from the actual bruise. "It's not that bad. I can give you a better one on your neck."

"Thorin, I know you're joking but this is a serious matter. If you're going to give me something like this ever again, I will kill you."

"Who said I was joking?" He said before placing his lips against the flesh once again. Instead of sucking on it like some leech, he kissed it and kept kissing it.

People were looking except for Sai who was working on other subjects. The guys looked with their mouth slightly open and girls watched with the want to kill in their eyes but everyone also shared a hint of confusion. Shit, even I had some confusion.

I tugged my arm away from this time and stood up, scooting my chair back with the back of my knees. The screech of the desk attracted even more attention that slithered up to me. "Mr. Louis, I'll be back." I mumbled, leaving the classroom. I felt their eyes on me every moment when stepping in front of the class till my feet went into the hallway.

Thorin, of course, had to follow me. "Flora!" He called out down the hallway that I was going down.

"Dude, leave me alone." I said harshly, eyeing him.

"No." His damn long legs just had to catch up to me in a matter of seconds. A hand went on my shoulder to stop me and it did. "I don't want to leave you alone."

"What's going on with you?" I snorted. "You're touching me way more than usual."

He bit his bottom lip while shaking his head. "Nothing's wrong."

I held up my arm to his face, nearly thinking about hitting him with it. "Then how do you explain this, asshole!" I hissed.

He opened his mouth to say something only for nothing to come out except for his hot breath. At that point, I was willing to shake him to get something out that would explain his behavior for the day. Thorin had always been teasing me and whatever but never once had he actually gone to the point of actually kissing my arm in public. He had been acting weird since the other day when he kept eyeing the guys and saying he was being jealous.

"I'm marking my territory." He finally said.

"What?" My brows furrowed at the asshole who was shrugging his shoulders with a poker face.

"You heard me."

"Who said I'm your territory?" I laughed. "I'm nothing more than someone for you to tease."

"I want you to be."

Full on laughter left my mouth, maybe it was because I was so awake and the pills were messing with my brain. Thorin on the other hand just stood there with a face made of stone. I was nearly bent over, laughing like a dying seagull and had eyes full of tears.

"Thorin, I get it. " I stopped though the giggling still escaped. "You like to joke and tease me for some reason. It must be fun for you whenever you're not fighting someone. But you're going too far." On their own, my fingers balled themselves up into fists.

"Who said I'm joking?" Thorin obviously didn't know the concept of personal space when proceeding to take mine and forcing my back to the wall. "I'm actually serious person, Flora." I felt his nose go to the side of my neck along with his warm breath.

"There you go again, you're joking around." I pushed at his chest, moving him away from me. "And it's so annoying." The laughing stopped.

"Flora, I want you." Heartburn began to burn my throat but not as much as Thorin's eyes were burning my face. "Does it seem like I'm kidding you?" His Adam's Apple bobbed. "I'm not. Get that through your head."

"I don't think I can."
