Nurturing Flora

Somewhat pg 13

"Are you sure you can handle this while I'm gone?" Mom looked at me with eyes full of worry. Her hand went to my shoulder as I folded a bunch of blue and white napkins. She was wearing a light jacket with a bag over her shoulder. The bag was pretty much telling me that she was going to be gone for a long time and that I was going have to do this whole decoration thing solo.

I looked up and stopped the moment my hands began to cramp up. "Yeah, I'll see you tomorrow." It took some effort to not sound tired and a little annoyed with having to do this stupid shit for a party that I didn't really want. Even though it does sound a little fun having Thorin, Mel and Sai there, I still had to work. Work sucks ass.

"Alright, I'll leave it up to you." Trust me, I would love to tell my mom to sit her ass right down and help me with the decorations but I wanted her to have a good time with Blaire. Blaire had grown on me and I wished the two nothing but happiness. Mom deserved it, especially putting up with my awkward self for so long.

My mother would have to put up with my awkwardness for a long time but at least it has gone down somewhat. I still hated being in public, but I've come to terms that it wasn't so bad. Not everyone was going to say something about me not being the skinniest girl, not everyone was going to stare at me like some animal in a cage. If I just didn't give any fucks, nothing bad would truly happen. And if they did say something? Oh well.

I've come to terms that there are some people who will say something and the best thing to do is turn it into something positive.

Plus, not to toot my own horn but if it came to it, I could kick ass.

I still wanted to kick Jace's ass for annoying the fuck out of me and Thorin.

"Have a good time." I smiled at her before going back to the napkins. The door made a loud clicking noise when shutting behind the woman, telling me that she had indeed left the house. Just as I folded the last napkin, I realized something; there weren't enough napkins. I've been out of the house enough for the week and the party was coming quickly so I had only one choice to make sure that my messy ass baby cousins were not going to have food all of their faces.

Call Thorin.

My fingers thrummed on the table while I kept hearing the dial tone for what felt like an eternity. That was, until he answered the phone.

"Hello?" I tried to ignore the goosebumps that suddenly crept onto my skin thanks to his deep voice.

"What are you wearing?" Did I try to put on a sexy voice? Maybe.

"Oh you know, the usual. Nothing." He lightly chuckled into the phone.

"How about you come over then?" I tried my best to give my cutest giggle and not some vulture squeal.

"Yeah?" I could hear his excitement. Was it mean that I may have been getting his hopes up? A little bit but I really did want him to come over.

"Yeah, but first, can you put some clothes on and go to the store to pick up some blue and white napkins? It's for the graduation party?" You know, the one with the school colors on them?"

Thorin's sigh was enough to tell me that he didn't really want to go to the store. "Anything else?"

"Nope. Thanks."

Smiling, I ended the call and tried to forget about the stress that was weighing down my shoulders. Moving the napkins and the rest of the decorations that were spread out on the table, my forehead rested on my crossed arms. I must have fallen asleep because the next thing I remembered was hearing the door being knocked on and footsteps that quickly followed. A little groggy, I opened my eyes to see a fully clothed Thorin with bags in his hands.

"Hey." I yawned.

"I hope I got the right napkins." Thorin said, placing the bags on one of the kitchen counters. He took the napkins out. He did indeed get the right ones. Honestly, any napkins would have done since my ass wasn't going back to the store for another month.

"Good job, buddy." I yawned again.

My brows were raised when my eyes caught the sight of a box full of green tea. "I also got green tea and..." He revealed a tub of my favorite ice cream. "Coffee ice cream." I will admit that Thorin was attractive, very attractive but for some reason, the ice cream made him at least a million times hotter.

Stretching, I got up and gave Thorin a small hug. "Thanks." Though I wanted the hug to last for quite some time, I released him to go into the living room where I knew my wallet was. Thorin had followed me and gave me a confused look when I took out some money. "How much do I owe you?"

"You don't owe me anything." Thorin chuckled, gently pushing my hand that was full of cash.

"Come on, let me pay you back for the stuff." Even though it seemed like he wasn't going to take the money, I still tried to shove it onto him. "Just take the money." I wasn't going to take no for an answer. The asshole was going to take my money and like it.

His large hands went up, protecting him from the money as if he was allergic to it. "Nope."

"I'm going to pay you back." I tried to make myself seem more intimidating but obviously, it wasn't working.

Thorin gave me a little laugh as he leaned forward, resting his forehead on mine. "Keep your money."

I squinted my eyes, trying to get a better look of the discoloration around Thorin's jaw. "Thorin, what is that?" His head kept moving, trying to hide the spot. I backed away and caught his chin in my hand, turning his skull to the side to see the spot. It was indeed a bruise as if someone had punched him.

"It's nothing." He tried to get out of my grasp by lowering his head even lower, tracing his nose along the side of my neck. "Forget about it." His hands gripped at my sides, pulling me closer to him so I wouldn't be able to see the bruise any longer.

Though I'm not the most nurturing person out there, I knew I had to do something. Pulling away, I trailed my hand to Thorin's and proceeded to pull the boy who was groaning after each step towards the kitchen. His shoulders felt sturdy when I pushed them down, forcing Thorin into the seat that I had previously sat in to get ready for the party. The decorations were going to have wait because in that moment, Thorin came first.

"I'm fine, seriously." The idiot looked up at me, letting me see the bruise even more clearly. A tisk came out of me as I shook my head and headed for the freezer. Cool air bit at my fingers while they took an ice pack that mom had in there because she and I fell at least twice a day. Putting it on the bruise, it was easy to hear Thorin wince at the contact.

"Just shush." That made Thorin mumble underneath his breath as I held the ice pack. I knew he didn't want the ice pack and the moment I left him with it, he would just throw it on the table.

"I really appreciate you being all Nurse Flora but don't you have to do something with these decorations?"

Pulling back, I looked at him with furrowed brows. "Are you saying you don't like Nurse Flora?"

"Nooo..." My body was pulled on, practically forced to sit on Thorin. "But, I want to make sure that I'm not distracting you."

I sighed. "I need the distraction, I'm so stressed about it."

"Maybe you shouldn't be in the same room as them." Thorin was trying to get me out of the room where the ice pack was in even though he still had the bruise on his jaw.

Not only was he right but I also had to find a way to repay Thorin. Then it hit me, I could distract him in my room and put the money in his pocket or something. He paid for my shit all of the time and it was time to pay him back. Plus, it would ease my conscience. Trying not to smile, I began to talk. "Do you want to go to my room?"

It didn't take long for Thorin to say yes to the point of him trailing behind me with a bag in his hand as we walked up to the steps that led to my room. It also didn't take long until I was on my back and Thorin to crawl on top of me. My cheeks were cupped, lips busy and hands grasped at Thorin's shirt.

Not to toot my own horn once again but Thorin was pretty distracted, distracted enough for me to grab the wad of cash that I had sneaked in my pocket and slide into one of his. By the way he was chuckling, breaking up the kiss, I knew I was caught.

"I'm not going to take your money." He said, sternly. "Do it again.... and let's just it wouldn't end well."

Pretending his voice didn't send a shiver down my spine, I pouted. "Why not?"

"Because." He said, giving me a peck on the lips. "It's my duty to make sure that I can help you any way I can and," Thorin kissed me again. "protect you and," he kept breaking up his sentence by kissing me. "make you feel good."

I tried my best to keep my cool when my neck began to be kissed. "Feel good?" A little flashback of the night when I went to his house to get my caffeine pills back came into my mind. Then it hit me, Thorin brought a bag into my room.. well more like our room by all the times that Thorin has slept over. "What's in that bag, Thorin?"

There was a grin on his lips when sitting up and getting out the bed. I couldn't help but to follow him and watched as he took the items out of the bag. "A candle." He shook the glass as if it was a snow globe. "And..." A box was in his hands, a box that I wanted him to have the day we had our little discussion while he rubbed my... back. There was something else in the bag, a plastic bottle.

I blinked, not sure what to say. I didn't want to be all 'fuck yeah' or 'fuck no' because I didn't know which one I wanted. It was all happening so fast that I barely could grasp what was happening.

Without saying anything, he threw the things on my bed and began to slowly lift up his shirt. "Wait!" I squeaked.

"What's wrong?" Thorin looked concerned, pausing himself from taking off his shirt.

"Uh.. Turn around." My finger did a little spin in the air, telling Thorin to move. Don't get me wrong, I was definitely more confident than I was a few months ago but I was still somewhat shy when it came to taking off my clothes. I wanted to take off my clothes, but not really in front of someone, yet.

He didn't say anything and did, facing the door while I looked at the ground.

I felt a little light headed the moment I slid my shirt off along with my shorts. When my unmentionables came off, I was ready to pass out. With a little kick, the clothes were in a pile before I crawled underneath my blanket and into the spot that I usually slept in. My breathing was fast along with my heartbeat when Thorin's head turned to the side, trying to see what was happening.

"O-okay." I coughed, trying to drown out the shaking in my voice.

Like Thorin's black skinny jeans, my heart dropped. I hadn't really paid attention before but it turns out that Thorin was indeed a briefs man. More tattoos appeared on the back of his upper thighs and even in the front when he turned around to face me. My breathing and heart were still out of whack as he made his way to the bed.

Okay, so I may have been a little wrong on the last chapter. I say there are about 2 more chapters left, I'm not for sure but def around that number. Next chapter is going to be rated R, you have been warned.
