Cupcake board

I sighed, wiping excess flour that didn't make it into the bowl, off of my hands and onto my pants. The oven was being watched cautiously while silent prayers traveled with my sigh in hopes that I don't burn the cupcakes that were in it. I knew I should have started the icing at that moment, but I didn't want to take my eyes off from the cupcakes. Any sign of them burning, I would rescue them like some type of food heroine.

"Ooh, are you making cupcakes?" My mother came into the kitchen, wiggling her fingers.

"You can have one." I held up my index finger. "That's it."

"I thought you were on a diet." Her eyes squinted.

I rolled mine, just wondering if my mother actually thought if I would eat all of the cupcakes. She wouldn't have been wrong but these cupcakes weren't for me. They were for Thorin's belated birthday. I didn't know what else to get him so I thought food would be the best present.

"I am, they're for Thorin."

"Oooh your boyfriend?" Mom teased. But yes, they were for my boyfriend. "Maybe you should make them for your graduation party."

I snorted. "Graduation party? No thank you."

"Flora, you're my only kid. We're going to have a graduation party." She sighed. "We'll invite our family, maybe even some of the neighbors." My mother continued on even when I turned my back to her and began to make the icing.

"Mom, no. I don't want a graduation party."

"Come on.." My shoulder was nudged. "You can invite Melody and Thorin."

Little did she know that I could invite Thorin over to my house whenever I wanted and have done it many times. Was she ever going to know that? No so I was going to let her think that she had some power there.

I began to add the dye to make it red. I thought it was a nice color on Thorin though every color was nice on him. Besides black, I figured it was his favorite color.

"No. No party."

"Flora, you're done with school. Why not celebrate it?"

I eyed her before going back to the pinkish icing. "Mom, I spent four years in a hell full of people. Now you want to congratulate me by surrounding me with more people? And what's worse is it's family." Annoyance was growing within me because no matter how much food dye I added, it still looked pink.

"Flora, please. Just this once." Mom begged. I knew if I looked away from the icing, I would see her giving me her infamous puppy eyes. One look into the hazel eyes that we shared and I would be a goner.

It wasn't that I hated my family and didn't want to be near them but then again, I didn't want to be in a close proximity of them. Mostly because some of them had kids and kids were not my forte. If anything, they were the bane of my existence. Me spending time with kids was going to cost my mother a price. A hefty price that she was going to have pay for this party full of people that I didn't want to see.

"It will cost you." I eyed her.

"Name your price." She squinted.

I grinned at her.

I carefully walked across the street instead of rushing as I did whenever going over there. In my hand was a plate full of pink cupcakes. They should have been red but for some reason, the icing came out pink. I couldn't make anymore icing so Thorin was going to get pink cupcakes, hopefully good pink cupcakes.

Nervously, I knocked on the door. I knew I shouldn't have been nervous because it was Thorin's house but I couldn't help but to be. Mostly because of his uncle who looked mean and someone would have no problem killing someone. I said the same thing about Thorin but at least Thorin talked instead of just clearing his throat and scowling.

Mel opened the door. She smiled as her eyes instantly went to the cupcakes. She pointed with her mouth open.

"Yes, you can have one." I was just happy that she answered the door.

Her hand went in a fist and slowly retracted back to her body. "Yes." She squealed, letting me into the house. Her father was sitting in a chair while staring at the t.v., not giving shit about the stranger that was in his house. This dude didn't care, it was easy to see when he just raised his hand in an attempt to say hello and that was it. He didn't even know who was invading his home!

Thorin was on the couch with his legs slightly spread out. He looked up at me and smiled, especially when he saw the plate of cupcakes. Quickly he got up and greeted me with a kiss on the cheek. "Let's take those to my room." He said with his mouth on my temple.

"Hold on." Mel scooted by, taking a cupcake. "Proceed."

The plate was taken out of my hands and replaced with one of Thorin's as we walked up the stairs and into his room. Sitting on Thorin's bed, I watched as the plate was placed on the nightstand that was near. I tried not to cross my fingers in hopes that the miniature cakes were good when one of them was plucked from the plate. I wasn't the best baker so I wasn't expecting them to taste well at all.

"Why did you make these?" He said, closely investigating it. "You're not trying to poison me, are you?" A grin grew on his lips, the same lips that I wanted to kiss at that moment.

My eyes rolled. "Thorin, if I'm going to kill you, it's going to be from me beating you so bad." I smiled. Little did he know I was somewhat telling the truth.

He blinked a few times at me, not saying anything until a deep breath came out of his mouth. "You would have a better result with the poison."

I snorted. It wasn't the cutest sound in the world but neither would the sound of me kicking Thorin's ass. "Thorin, you better enjoy that cupcake because it may be your last one." My knuckles cracked, trying to make me look scarier.

Thorin laugh, taking away the slightly tense atmosphere. "The only way you could possibly kill me is from laughter."

"Hey, I'm learning to kick butt. My day will come when I begin to destroy all of those who cross paths with me." I smiled, thinking about taking down all of my enemies. I didn't really have enemies but the thought still made me happy.

"Like Jace?" One of Thorin's dark eyebrows began to raise itself.

"Okay, I didn't see that coming." I really didn't but it did make sense to why he was so crazy. It didn't excuse him from his actions but it sort of explained why he went after me. "But at least you have another person who likes you." I winked.

That earned me a chuckle. "I guess." He looked at the uneaten cupcake. "I still want to kick his ass for all the shit he put you through."

"Don't, you would get in trouble." Jace would bring in the authorities and who knows what they would do to Thorin. I didn't want Thorin to get in trouble.

"So? He hurt you." Thorin's voice sounded a little rough.

I waved at the angry boy. "Don't worry, I'm sure karma will get him. Just eat your cupcake and forget about it."

He gave me a sincere look while I begged him to stop talking about Jace with my eyes. The cupcake was lifted and inspected, taking Thorin's attention and forcing him to drop the conversation. I was thankful while eyeing the sweet as a bite was taken out of it. Frosting caked itself onto the corner of Thorin's mouth.

"You have something on your face." I leaned over to him without thinking, taking my thumb and swiping the frosting off. My thumb went into mouth, dissolving the whipped sugar as I sat back down. Thorin made a tiny little 'o' with his mouth.

"Right here?" He managed to smug a small glob of frosting onto the side of his cheek.

I furrowed my brows. "Now you have more on your face." My hand went up to his cheek, swiping the mess off from the flesh. I have to admit, I did well with the frosting. It was sweet, but not too sweet like it was going to spike your blood sugar. Too bad Thorin was wasting it on his face.

"Here." He held out his cupcake. "It's really good."

Reluctantly, I took it. I didn't want all of the calories but it was a special occasion. The chocolate cake was moist as the sweet taste swirled on my tongue. Along with the icing, the duo craved the sweet tooth that my taste buds had for the longest time. I felt a slight coolness when frosting had also caked itself onto the corner of my mouth.

Thorin took his thumb as I had done and swiped the frosting from the corner and moved it the middle of my bottom lip. He held it there while eyeing the area that his thumb was on. For some reason, my lungs held in the air that was in them. Breathing was something that wasn't important to me at that moment. Only the way Thorin had been looking at me was on my mind.

The thumb trailed down to my chin and gently held it. Instead of the cupcake again, what was touching Thorin's lips were mine. Even though I spent quite sometime on the sweets, the one that I had taken a bite of was taken out of my hands and placed on the nightstand with the rest. My arms dangled around Thorin's neck as he leaned into me, slowly lowering me onto my back.

I mostly came to his house to give him the cupcakes but making out was also good too.

My lips were in sync with the lips that were against them, gliding while my hands began to play with the black curls that they grasped. The thickness of my outer thighs were held onto, squeezed playfully. Quickly, I began to feel the burn of the lack of oxygen in my lungs. But one would have to understand that I wasn't thinking about breathing but more of how I'm kissing one that I really liked.

Even though I really didn't want to, I had to pull away and allow my hitching breath to be caught. After working out for quite sometime, I thought I would be able to hold my breath a little longer but no. Thorin took it right out of me and I didn't mind that.

Thorin's breath was hot as it came at me in short breaths, smelling like mint and chocolate. "I told you, you're the only thing I want as a present." His lips went to my cheek and trailed down my neck.

"Still." I said hoarsely. "I wanted to make you something."

"I want to make you something." He whispered into my ear, biting it and removing his lips from my body.

I watched closely as he lowered his body further down the bed until he was lower than my bent knees that retracted back together as if there were magnets in them. Said knees were quickly spread apart with a pair of tattooed hands. The blue shorts that I had were slowly shoved higher than their already high position on my legs, revealing more of my inner thighs.

Thorin went back to kissing my flesh, starting at my knee. The kisses were loud, making me cringe at the possibility of Mel and her father being able to hear them. They became quieter when they moved higher, into an area that no one ever saw. He remained in my inner thigh, kissing it sweetly.

"Thorin, what are you doing?" I tried to see but my head felt like it weighed a million pounds. For some reason, Thorin ignored me and continued to kiss the area. "Thori-" I gasped at the feeling of his teeth biting into the flesh. A dull pain took over the area where he had been previously kissing and I knew exactly what he was doing.

A knocking on the door interrupted the sound of the little moans that left my mouth. Quickly, Thorin and I shot up only seconds before the door was opened. His uncle, rough looking as ever, had a mean scowl look on his face.

"I wanted a cupcake and talk to Thorin." He cleared this throat, eyeing me.

"Hey, I'll meet you in the basement." Thorin smiled at me. I nodded, leaving the very tense atmosphere.

The basement was dark, even when turning on the lights. I huffed, trying to not think about the ghosts that I heard stories about. Though it was rare for me to listen to people, the one time I did, it was about this house. Hundreds of ghosts were supposed to be living in this house, making it a horror movie's dream. I tried to not think about the guy in the story and the ghosts that he talked to.

I sat on the brown leather couch that sat in front of a t.v. My fingers fiddled with the hem of my shirt as I sat in the silence. I didn't know what Thorin's uncle had to say to him, hopefully, it was not about me. It seemed like I wasn't the old guy's favorite person, he made that obvious but I still didn't want to be talked about.

Minutes passed and I was worried that I was going to be forgotten about. A loud clunk filled my ears, sending a shiver down my spine. I looked around me, trying to find anything in the ancient looking basement to defend myself from the ghosts. Nothing, I couldn't fight a ghost with a t.v, or a coffee table, leather couch or a closet. I was on my own at this point.

Another clunk filled my ears, then multiple ones that were booming through the air at a fast pace. I squinted my eyes in case it was some type of scary demon that was coming to eat me.

"What are ya doin?" Thorin's voice over took the clunking sound of his feet hitting the wooden steps.

"Thinking some demon was coming after me because this house is haunted." I squeaked.

"Then you know why I brought you down here then." He grinned. Going into the closet, probably to not steal any caffeine pills, I watched as he reached up with his long arms to bring down a dark brown board. "I thought we could try this thing out, it was here when we moved in." He winked.

This fucker had an Ouija board.

Thorin sat the board on the table as I tried to swallow the lump in my throat. Instead of sitting on the couch, he sat on the stone floor. "Thorin..."

"Come here." He patted his lap.

Now, I would never tell him, but I was willing to take any chance I could to sit on his lap. I did so, slightly wincing when touching the tender area of my thigh. "You know, this hickey thing you have going on kind of hurts." I eyed him, raising an eyebrow.

"I'm sorry, I'm just marking you in case Terry decides to show up." He chuckled.

I had to laugh myself. "He's probably too busy with summer school."

"That's true." The boy shrugged. "Anyway." he nudged his head at the board.

Hesitantly, I placed my hands on the wooden triangle with a large circle in the middle of it. Thorin's arms reached around mine, also placing his hands on the triangle. He didn't say anything else so I thought since I'm such an expert in the ghost area as he was to the zombie area, I should start with the ceremony.

"Are we speaking to the dead?" I called out.

The triangle moved to the area of the board that was marked 'yes'. Another shiver shot down my spine.

"What is your name?" My voice sounded stern.

Y

"Y" Thorin and I both said.

"You're?" I looked back at Thorin, scrunching my face. There was a sudden drop in my stomach. The possibility of a ghost telling us that they were going to kill us was very large. Thorin could fight people but there was no way he could fight a ghost.

"You're beautiful?" I said the phrase out loud.

"Yeah."

I tried to not smile but it was very hard to when looking back at Thorin. "Smooth. Asshole." My eyes squinted at him.

Hey, I'm sorry I haven't really been posting frequently. Sort of going through some stuff at the moment that has just sucked out all of the creativity and will in my being. I will finish this story, don't worry but I just need you guys to be a little lenient with me. Thank you.
