We start with Deaton pulling the flies out of Isaac and the twins, and then we cut to Melissa trying to figure out if the Stiles they were left with is the real one. Noshiko arrives with the Oni, who examine Stiles, give him the "self" Kanji, and go on their way. Having passed the test, Stiles asks if they can kill Void, but Noshiko explains that it's too close to dawn.

Scott asks why Void took Lydia, Noshiko explaining that he did so to have the advantage of her banshee powers.

We watch Void pursuing Lydia, taunting her, telling her that Stiles is dying. He laughs, causing her to scream as the credits play.

Noshiko teaches her daughter how to play go, telling her it's crucial that she learns. Parrish enters the sheriff's office, offering him coffee, saying he felt drawn to Beacon Hills when asked and urging the sheriff to go home. Scott and Stiles enter the office after Parrish leaves, Stiles helping his dad find his keys as Scott informs him that everything isn't over yet.

Derek stops the elevator out of Argent's complex with Noel at his side, their hands joined but no longer threatening or coercive.

"You had a gun pointed at my head. You could have pulled the trigger. Why didn't you?" Derek asks, as Argent explains it's because Derek isn't his enemy anymore.

"Plus, what kind of man would I be to kill a person while he's in the arms of his partner? That makes me like Kate, and I'm not Kate," he adds, Noel looking down at the floor before looking back at Argent and nodding gratefully.

"The truth is, we should be out there, looking for Stiles. Right now, especially if he can do something like this," Derek points out, Argent arguing "I'm not sure that's actually going to be necessary."

"Why not?" Noel asks, as Argent explains "Because if he can do something like this-"

"He's already stronger than ever. He'll already be looking for us," Derek finishes for him, stepping back into the elevator deep in thought. Noel receives him into his arms, holding him tightly and reassuringly as the elevator door closes.

Stiles sticks the sheriff and Scott onto the scent of Meredith Walker, the twins get shot with rounds of wolfsbane bullets, and Isaac and Allison find Lydia's car. Meredith shows up at school after breaking out of Eichen House, and Stiles wakes up asking where everyone is. Scott tells him that Allison, Isaac, Ethan, and Aiden are looking for Lydia.

"What about Noel, where's Noel," he asks, still panicking, Scott answering calmly "With Derek. They had an incident with Allison's dad, like Isaac and the twins had, but everything's fine. They're probably out looking for Lydia too by now."

Scott feels that Stiles is in pain, and freezing cold, as Kira calls to let them know Meredith is at school and they need to get there fast. Meredith tells coach that she hears people screaming, and Lydia screams over it all before we cut to black.

The twins are struggling to escape as they continue getting shot at, when suddenly Derek and Noel show up out of nowhere. Derek picks up Aiden, who's badly injured, telling them all to run. The four of them take off, as Eichen House orderlies arrive at school to take Meredith away.

Allison and her father have a scene together, as well as Void and Lydia, interlaced with scenes of Scott and Stiles, Halemore and the twins walking, and Allison and her father. Void tells Lydia that he feeds on what she feels, and that he's insatiable.

—

An orderly approaches Meredith with a taser, but Finstock stops him, citing the school's no bullying policy as he tasers him instead. He instructs the kids to take Meredith out of there, but when they ask her where Lydia is, she asks who Lydia is.

—

Allison tells her dad she's going to make a silver arrowhead and tells him she loves him, as Scott, Stiles, and Meredith enter Scott's house. Scott's dad is there, and he stops to talk to him as Isaac and Stiles take Meredith upstairs to talk to her.

Ethan coughs where he lies, Aiden looking around and asking "Where are we?"

"It's a coyote den, stay quiet," Derek hisses, as Ethan continues coughing up black blood. Noel watches them both and keeps a close eye on Ethan, as Aiden asks if they saw the shooter or know who it is.

"We didn't see very much, we were busy getting you two someplace safe," Noel says, and winces as Ethan coughs more.

"So who else did the two of you piss off?" Derek asks them, as Ethan supplies "We pissed off everyone, it was only a matter of time before someone caught up to us."

Derek rolls his eyes, saying "Well the bullets had wolfsbane in them, so if I don't get you out of here soon, the poison's gonna spread."

"I?" Noel asks, as Derek responds "It's bad enough you followed me out here, you're not moving until the threat's gone. If I have to take these two and use them to lure whoever wants to kill them away, I will, if it means you'll be safe."

Noel moves to argue, but Derek crouches next to him, instructing "Stay here with them, and keep them quiet. I'll be back, I promise." He pulls Noel into a brief kiss, waiting for him to give a nod of understanding before standing up and leaving the den.

Meredith tells them in French where Lydia is, Yukimura teaches Kira more about go, Allison finishes her arrowhead, and we're at Oak Creek with Noshiko and the Oni.

Noel throws open the door of the loft, and Derek and Argent come inside each carrying a twin. They place them both down as Noel runs off in the direction of the kitchen, and we hear running water as Derek shows Argent the bullet shell he found. Argent says this isn't the work of Araya Calavera, Derek agreeing as Noel brings damp towels to the twins. He starts wiping the blood from their faces, as Argent takes the shell and inspects it.

"That's not possible," he says nearly dumbfounded, as his phone buzzes and Allison calls and says they found Lydia. Argent urges her to wait, but she refuses, as we see Scott, Stiles, and Isaac driving to Oak Creek.

Stiles admits that he doesn't care if he dies when Void does, he makes the boys promise to not let him hurt anyone else ever again.

They pull up to Oak Creek, and Scott tells them they can do this because they already saved Malia. They can save somebody else, a stranger, so they can definitely save someone they know.

Isaac frowns, pointing out "Well, we also had Noel last time."

"You have me this time too," Noel says, jogging up, breathing hard. Stiles gives him a look, saying "Dude, you sound like you just ran a 10k."

"Honestly, it feels like I did," Noel says with a laugh, hugging Stiles and explaining "Alli, your dad and Derek are on their way with the twins. I think. They wanted to discuss something first, but I figured I needed to come down here and be with you guys right now."

Allison walks over to him and wraps her arms around him, whispering "Noel, thank you..."

He hugs her back, closing his eyes, saying with a smile "That's what best friends do, right?" He pulls back slightly, adding "But you know as well as I do that we're a trio. Let's go find Lydia, we're here to save our best friend."

"I'm here to save mine," Scott agrees, Isaac adding "I just didn't feel like doing any homework."

Noshiko stops Kira, Isaac, and Allison, as Scott, Stiles, and Noel try to find Lydia and Void. They run down a stretch of hallway, Allison telling Noshiko to call off the Oni. Noshiko insists that the nogitsune is her demon to bury, as Void takes out Noshiko's last tail and snaps it. Kira asks what it means that Noshiko holds a dying firefly, Void appearing behind them and announcing that it means a change in ownership. The oni stand behind him, as Allison draws her bow and a fight breaks out.

Kira does her best to fight the oni, alongside Isaac and Allison, as the boys find Lydia. Scott asks her if she's alright, as she responds "No, no no no, why are you here?"

"Lydia, we're here for you," Stiles answers, Lydia saying "You weren't supposed to be here! You didn't get my message?"

"Lydia, what's happening?" Noel asks calmly, offering her his hand. She takes it but still looks terrified, asking "Who else is here? Who came with you, who else is here?!"

The boys look confused, as we return to the fighting, and Isaac gets slashed across the stomach.

Noel and Scott run ahead of Lydia and Stiles to try and get to everyone else, as Stiles breaks down and struggles to breathe. The oni incessantly slash at Isaac, until Allison shoots one with a silver arrow, and finally lands a hit. She looks proud of herself, smiling, until one of the oni comes to her and stabs her clean into her stomach.

Lydia freezes and starts to shudder, screaming Allison's name and breaking down as Scott and Noel appear on the scene.

In slow motion, Scott catches Allison, and Noel runs to Isaac. Isaac collapses into Noel's arms as Allison falls into Scott's, breathing hard as the oni and Void disappear.

Scott tries to take Allison's pain but can't, as Allison tells him it's because it doesn't hurt. She assures him that it's okay, over and over again, and says "It's perfect... I'm in the arms of my first love. The first person I ever loved, the person I'll always love."

She tells Scott she loves him as he cries, and she makes him promise to tell her dad something. She isn't able to say what, losing her final breath before her eyes close. She's gone, and we see Noel gasping, struggling to breathe as he now clings to Isaac for support.

Scott sobs as he holds Allison, kissing her forehead as we get shots of Lydia and Noel sobbing as well.

Argent runs over with his gun ready to fire, seeing his daughter in Scott's arms and a devastated Isaac holding Noel as he cries.

The episode ends on a lingering shot of Scott, cradling Allison's body.
