never a first choice...

trista's perspective:

i woke up the next day with a headache from crying so much. i rubbed my face and eventually got used to the sun that was beaming through my window. i got up and got dressed in a black crop top and some leggings before going out to get some food. i decided the more i stay in the apartment the worse i'm going to get. i walked about a mile to the nearest breakfast cafe. i almost entered when out of the corner of my eye i see him. i looked over to see him holding hands with sarah as he leaned in a kissed her cheek as they walked farther away. my thoughts scrambled through my mind but one remained the clearest. he left me for another girl. i felt a tear slip down my cheek as i quickly walked back to my apartment wishing for the world just to stop.

colby's perspective:

i met up with sarah and we went on a walk and were headed to the beach for a picnic. i thought it was kind of ironic because when we first started dating...

flashback:

i was laying down with my arm around sarah as we watched a movie on the tv in her bedroom. "i wanna take you on a date" i said looking over at sarah. she giggled slightly and looked back at me sitting up "why?" she asked sweetly. i shrugged and turned my body to face her. "cause, i haven't been out with you in awhile, it's los angeles, let's have a picnic on the beach" i said having a clear excitement in my voice. she rolled her eyes playfully "colby we haven't finished the movie, and that's kinda cliche don't you think?" she said with a slight snark lacing her usual soft voice.

i let the moment sink out of my head when we arrived at the beach.
