it was now the weekend as me and Colby were packing the trunk of his car with are bags as we were staying with his parents in Kansas for a week. i got in the passenger seat as Colby started driving with his hand on my leg in a comfortable way. the drive was about 7 hours but we didnt want to take a plane cause we wanted to have the car there. we talked for about the first 3 hours as we alternated who was driving as Colby was back on the wheel when he asked me "so when do we hear from your family" he said in kinda a joking manor. I let out a forced giggle and shrugged "im not that close to them" I said. he nodded as he put his eyes back on the road. i looked out the window and sighed quietly. I know its kinda weird that im hiding the fact from Colby that I was a foster kid but I fell embarrassed that no one wanted me, exspecially the people that are supposed to love you unconditionally. i thought for awhile before slowly falling asleep against the cold window. 

time skip~

I woke up to Colby lightly shaking me as my eyes slowly fluttered open as i turn my body to face Colby "were here" he said with a sight chuckle. I giggled at his dorky smile and stepped out of the car to stretch as i see the small cozy house in front of me. I look to my side to see Colby getting the few bags out of the car as i go to join him grabbing me pastel blue backpack. he gives me a kiss on the cheek as we walk up to his front door as a smile unconciously slid onto my face. a skinny women with blonde medium length hair opened the door as her face lit up "Cole baby so nice to see you" she spread her arms out to hug Colby as he accepted the hug and leaned down slightly as he was about a head taller. she then looked over at me and gave me a small smile "you must be Trista" she said in a warm loving voice. I smiled "yep that would be me" i said in a chirpy voice. she hugged me and let us inside. I then met his father who was tall with dark hair. i shook his hand and said my greetings before heading upstairs to Colbys old room. i set my stuff down as Colby came up behind me and wrapped his arms around me waist making me smile as I turn around to face him "im glad your here with me" he whispered. I smiled and kissed his lips softly and wrapped my arms around his neck and put my forehead against his "im so happy to be here too" he smiled and pecked my lips slightly before we went downstairs to eat dinner with Colbys parents.
