The very next day I woke up and smiled widely. I had already had a text from Light.

Hey what's up with you today?

I could already hear his voice and laugh in my head before I could even reply to him.

Nothing much. I just woke up. It's like you text me so early in the morning. What's with that? Are you an early bird XD

I sat up and stretched out my arms with a yawn. I stood up and slipped my feet into my slippers and scratched my messy bed head. Soon my phone vibrated.

Lol, sorry about that. Would you like me to text you at a certain time? I understand that you sleep a little late on the weekends.

I brushed my hair out quickly and put it up into a ponytail before replying to his text.

No! I kinda like waking up to your texts first thing in the morning. It gives me the excited feeling that I just can't explain. Anyway, what have you got going on today?

I asked him. Then I picked out a laid back outfit for the day and headed downstairs. My dad was still asleep so I assume that he really did have a long day yesterday. I decided to cook a little breakfast for when he woke up. I took out the regular ingredients and stopped to read the text I just got.

Lol, you're adorable sometimes. Anyway, I'm really not up to anything today. I don't have to study for any tests and I'm really bored. What are you doing right now?

I smiled and rolled my eyes before typing up the reply.

Wouldn't you like to know Mr. Nosey Light Yagami XD. I'm just making some breakfast for when my dad wakes up. Then I guess I'll go outside for some fresh air.

I hit send then I started to fry the eggs in one pan and the Bacon in another. I placed the toast in the toaster and grabbed a fresh orange to put next to the empty plate. As the food sizzles, Light replied to me.

I wish I was your dad so I can have you make breakfast for me. My mom is taking a break from her usual routine. My sister is spending the night at a friends house so she's not even here. And my dad has been working since yesterday. I'm not saying that I can't cook but... I'm not the best at it.

I laughed out loud at his text and expertly transferred the finished eggs and Bacon onto the empty plate. I did it just in time as the toast popped up! Afterwards, I covered the fresh food with plastic wrap and I left a note that said 'Dad, here's breakfast for today. I'm heading out. I love you and I'll be safe'. After that, I headed to my the bathroom for a to brush my teeth really quick. Once finished, I chose to reply to the text.

XD you're weird, yknow that? Anyway, instead of cooking let's go out for breakfast at the café near school. I saw the menu that day and noticed they do eggs and pancakes too!

After slipping on shoes, I rushed outside and up the sidewalk. I looked at my phone to check the text from Light that said:

Sounds great. I'll meet you at your house.

As soon as I read that, I slammed into the chest of someone. I looked up to see it was Light again. He rolled his eyes and laughed loudly at me before helping me up. "Geez how many times do I have to tell you to be careful May! You're going to really run into me every time?" He teased me and I stuck out my tongue. "Whatever Yagami, let's just head out ok?" I led the way and he followed close behind. Pretty soon, Light caught up with me and started talking for today. "I got in my house last night at like 12:15 and my mom was still up in the kitchen. She was making a midnight snack and she asked where I had been. I pretty much knew she noticed my bags and the pictures so she asked about them. I showed them to her and said 'I was at the mall with a friend'. And do you know she did the same thing as your dad and assumed we were dating!?" He laughed with me. I shook my head and sighed. "Why does everyone think that?" I asked him with a smile. He simply closed his eyes and shrugged. "Who knows. Maybe it's because we'd make a great couple in their eyes. Anyways, let's change the subject." He said as his face took on a light blush. I smirked and nodded at him. "Sure thing Light." And just like that, we had another conversation going about school. Although we talked about other things, I still had his words on my mind. We'd make a good couple, but would we? I've known him only 3 days not including today. But even so, I still know him better than other guys that apparently want to date me. If I were to date Light, it could destroy our friendship if it ended up not working out. Perhaps, on an off note... I need to consider actually dating him. It couldn't hurt to simply consider it?

"Hellooooo... Earth to May. What's going on in that head of yours?" He poked my head and laughed as I swatted his hand away. "None of your business Yagami. Anyways, I paid for the food at the mall yesterday so I can only assume that you're going to pay today even if it's against my will." Light chuckled and ruffled my hair. "Well of course I am. Anyway, let's both get the pancakes. They're so good!" He exclaimed while I fixed my hair. "Mhmm, sure thing!"
