I came home and went back inside to lock the door behind me. There was a note on the table that said Call me when you get back. I shrugged and called dad. When he picked up the phone, I could hear chatter and beeping in the background. "Hey dad, what's going on?" I started to get worried. It sounded like he was at the-

"I'm in the hospital." I immediately started to panic. "Calm down right now May. Don't even think about coming all the way out here on a train or bus. I'm here with Light and his friend from class. Light told me you were sick today so stay in the bed. I'm just fine but Yagami is here because he had a heart attack." When my dad said this, the room started to spin. If Light is Kira, did he do this to his father because he was suspecting his own son. Of course, my dad laid rest to my overactive mind without even having to know what I was thinking. "May, it was a stress heart attack. Chief Yagami is just fine and he's resting up. Me and Matsuda are going to spend the night here with him so keep the doors locked. You'll be by yourself tonight but I uh...I gave Light permission to sleep over. No funny business! And after 12, he sleeps on the couch GOT IT." My dad freaked out. I laughed lightly and gave a fake cough. "Yes sir. Tell him that I hope he gets better soon."

Dad hung up and I immediately started to prepare the house for light. I hid my evidence and photos from today and slipped into some baggy pajamas. Playing the part of sick is going to be much harder in person than it is over the phone. I wouldn't be surprised if Light had noticed me as soon as he saw me! What was even more important than any of that now would be the Kira case. I was throwing myself on the line just to ask him simple questions. It was going to be hard but if he truly loved me, he wouldn't get too upset. If he somehow were Kira, he wouldn't kill me. Well... I'm not so sure of myself.

About an hour later, the door suddenly opened. I was weary of my surroundings and I carefully made my way down the stairs. I had locked the door... So how did an intruder enter my house? I was fearful and I wondered if it were Kira. My fears were laid to rest when I made it to the bottom step and saw Light moving some couch pillows. I smiled and went to stand behind him. "May, I know you're not going to try and scare me." He teased me without turning around. I groaned and crossed my arms. "Geez you're no fun at all Yagami." Light chuckled and turned to hug me. When he pulled away, he looked at me lovingly. "You know, you don't look very sick right now." He raised an eyebrow and smirked. I laughed nervously and nodded. "I heal fast."

Light took a seat on the couch and patted the spot next to him, ushering for me to sit down. I cautiously took the spot and watched as he stroked his chin in thought. "You heal fast? Or did you just say that you were sick because you didn't want to hang out with me?" Light chuckled at me. "Well I just-"

"Because you wanted an alibi so you could follow me around in a ridiculous but equally attractive disguise." Light admitted with a cocky expression. I could feel my heart drop. He knew this whole time? Of course, he didn't seem mad. Light simply laughed and leaned over to kiss my forehead. "You spied on me all day because you thought I was cheating, am I right?" He laughed and poked my cheek. Now it was my turn to admit something. "Actually Light...I was investigating you. I know you lied to me that day about the bus date. I mean, I knew it wasn't a real date but the guy following you was a cop. He was following you just like L because they think you're Kira." I paused to look at his expression. It seemed a darkness covered his mood and a certain sternness was there too. I watched as he gripped the couch and grinded his teeth. He then took a deep breath and smiled, all while keeping his eyes off of me. I decided to continue my explanation.

"I can see why they suspect you. Every criminal I watched you look at one night had died afterwards. On top of that, Kira kills big criminals that he knows about from the news. There were the minor criminals like the guy at the convenience store and the bus hijacker that also died when you were around. However, Kira had no way of knowing about those guys because they were minor. It's almost like you really are Kira." I laughed nervously. Light suddenly stood up and straddled me quickly. He leaned his lips to my ear and his breath tickled my earlobe. This got my heart racing, but not in the normal way with Light. It was racing as if I were in danger rather than being excited with him.

"What if I told you... that I was actually Kira?"
