I waited patiently for him to answer me and soon, he did. "I said that you're kind of beautiful to me." His face went from being pink to red within seconds. Before I could reply, the cashier interrupted up with our orders. "Oh, thanks so much. Have a good day sir. Cmon May, we gotta make it back to school." Light smiled and handed me my bag and latte. As we walked back, things were rather silent and awkward between us. Light thinks I'm beautiful. Does he have feelings for me? I mean, we literally just met yesterday and this is already happening. Is it that 'love at first sight' crap? Well I mean, Light is really handsome nonetheless. I decided to make things less awkward because I assumed I was the first girl he ever had feelings for just now.

"Hey Light, tomorrow is Saturday. Let's go hang out if you don't mind." I spoke up happily. "Huh? If course I'd love to! I mean, I'll text you or meet you at your house if you want." He spoke to me. My eyes widened immediately. "No way! I'm not ready for you to meet my dad and get the wrong idea or anything. It's just that, he already said yesterday that we were dating!" I started laughing at my own words but Light had only chuckled lightly. "Y-yeah. That's kind of odd of him to think. Anyway, I'll text you instead and we can meet somewhere that you're more comfortable. Afterwards we can decide on what to do for the day." He looked down at me and smiled. I nodded and kept walking with him. We stopped to sit outside and enjoy our orders. By the time we finished, there were 3 minutes until class began. For the rest of the time, I expected to get a text from Light or at least a whispher but he didn't. I looked over at him and he kept his eyes on the window. I could tell he was completely focused on something else. I decided not to interact with him and so I left him alone. As soon as class let out, we walked our street home. He stopped when we got to my house and sighed looking at the start sky above us. "Light, are you alright. You've been quiet since we left the café today." I turned my head in confusion. He smiled reassuringly at me and pulled me into a hug. "I'm fine and I really can't wait until tomorrow. I'll see you then." He pulled away and looked at me. Before he completely walked away, I asked him another question. "Light, why do you always walk me home first when your house is the first one we pass?" He didn't turn around to answer me, but he simply replied "Because I want to be sure that you're safe." Then he continued to walk to his house. I smiled to myself and headed inside. I sighed happily with my eyes shut.

"Busted red handed!" My dad shouted at me with a wide smile. I gasped and held my chest in fear. "Dad, you scared the hell out of me!" He completely ignored that and laughed at me. "So you didn't think I'd find out about your little boyfriend did you? I knew it, ha!!!" I felt my face heat up and I rushed past my dad as he laughed at me. "He's NOT MY BOYFRIEND!!!" I shouted in embarrassment and slammed y door. I groaned and face planted onto my bed as my dad's laughter echoed through the house.

Kill me now.

I sighed and put a pillow over my head before falling asleep. When I awoke the next morning, there was a text from Light about an hour before I woke up. "Geez, how early does he even wake up!?" I chuckled to myself and read the text.

You up yet? Wake up!!! XD I'm all ready to meet you so just let me know when and where, ok?

I rolled my eyes and texted him back. Then I got up and prepared for the day.

You might as well meet me here. My dad apparently spied on me last night from the house and saw you -_-) Anyways, just meet me at my house. Be prepared to sit with dad until I finish getting ready.

I grabbed some clothes and headed downstairs. I slammed my hands on the living room table and interrupted my dad. He placed down the paper he was reading and looked up at me in confusion. "Alright dad, he'll be here in a few minutes. His name is Light Yagami and we are just friends. JUST FRIENDS. We're heading to the mall to hang out. I'll be getting ready while he's here. Do NOT embarrass me. Do NOT scare Light away." I looked at him with deathly serious eyes. He simply chuckled and put his hands behind his head. "Ah, don't worry about that Mimi." He used my embarrassing nickname from grade school. I immediately felt my face catch fire. "Do not call me that!" I threw my arms in the air as my dad laughed. "Oh relax now, I'm not going to do anything crazy. Now go get ready because I'm sure he'll be here soon enough." Just as he said that, the bell rang. Dad smirked and I rushed to the bathroom for a shower. I could only hope now, that my dad wouldn't assassinate my character in front of Light. I also hoped he wouldn't scare Light away with his drastic and overprotective ways.
