~Chapter 16

I stomped rapidly to the house, taking a long walk home instead of riding the stupid bus. I didn't even want to think about the bus! "Light Yagami, you are 50 kinds of DEAD if I find out this is true." I growled to myself as I approached Light's house. It took every bit of strength I had to not break down the door. Instead I gathered a deep breath and put on a fake smile before beating the door with my fist. Light's mother answered it with a worried expression. "What's wrong darling. Why are you knocking so loudly?" She was quite worried until she noticed my smile. Then she sighed in relief. "I'm so sorry! Sometimes I don't know my own strength!" I laughed a fake laugh. "Oh that's alright. Are you still with Light?" She looked around me to scan for her son. I could feel my blood boil. "No ma'am, that's why I'm here. Where is Light?"

"I don't know dearest. He got dressed up really nice this morning and left the house early so I thought he'd be spending the day with you." She was just as confused as I was when that girl told me where he was in the mall today. "It's alright. I'm sure he's out waiting for me or something. I probably need to text him and meet him somewhere." I lied to her. She smiled warmly and nodded. "Oh well. You two have a nice day now. Be careful out there darling." We said our goodbyes and my face was on fire. I slammed my door open and closed it roughly behind me. Dad was lucky he wasn't home today or he'd catch wind of my fire. I slammed my bedroom door behind me and screamed into my pillow. I could feel the tears rushing down my face but the were made of pure hatred and despair. How dare he speak lovingly to me one day, and cheat on me the next. HOW DARE HE!!! "Light Yagami, we are through." I growled to myself. Sure enough, my phone rang and interrupted my emotional break down. I could feel myself get even angrier by reading the name on the screen...

Light Yagami calling📞

I contemplated whether or not I'd pick up, but in the end I decided it'd be best if I did.

"Hey baby. I'm heading to a train station in about 8 days to get some business done and I was wondering if you wanted to ride the train to actually get to a movie theater. There's some good stuff that came out this weekend."

"I fucking hate you Light. I hate you and I hate everything about you. You're literally the worst piece of lying shit I've ever had anything to do with." I told him, spewing venom with my words. I could hear his gasp on the other end.

"May... Why would you say that stuff? What did I do wrong?"

"So you think you can ask another girl on a date and get away with it? Who knows how long you've been cheating on me."

"May I swear I'm not cheating. Please, just let me explain!"

"I don't need a Bull to explain his Bullshit. I'm completely done with you Light. Have a happy life with the other girls. I can't wait until I can move out of this country so I never have to see you again."

"May please listen. Please just-"

I hung up the phone and started crying. After a while, I had gotten tired of Light calling me repetitively so I just turned my phone off. I wanted to be alone forever. I wanted nothing more to do with Light Yagami. Most of all, I had wished that I never met him.

🍎🍎🍎🍎🍎

Of course 9 days had passed and I looked at my phone to see how many message or calls I had for today.

37 missed calls from Light Yagami 📞❌

59 unseen messages Light Yagami 📥❌

I groaned and put my phone away. This is definitely not how I wanted my Sunday to turn out. I had managed to avoid him and ignore him for a week but I'm not sure how much more I could take. My dad sat beside me as I scarped down more ice cream. He raised am eyebrow unsure of what to say. He was completely unaware of my situation yesterday and I didn't plan on telling him what happened yet. "Uhhh... You shouldn't eat that much ice cream this early in the morning May, it's only 9:00am." He furrowed his brow. I glared at his direction and he sighed. "Look, I understand that every month a woman's body goes through some changes and that can negatively affect their mood but give me some credit here!"

I sighed and decided to leave things as they were. It's better that he thinks I'm on my period instead of Light cheating on me. Then he'd be out for blood and wouldn't stop until he had Light's head on a stake.

"Dad, I'm sorry. I'm just stressed is all. The days are winding down before the big exam and I'm afraid I won't make it." I lied to him to ease his burden. He chuckled and stood up. "You'll be just fine honey. I noticed how motivated you and Light can be. I believe in you two!" He tossed a thumbs up as I cringed at the mere mentioning of Light's name. "Listen up, I'm about to take a shower and head out for some groceries real quick. If you decide to leave while I'm gone and you're not back then lock the door behind you. Don't forget where the spare key is if you should happen to lose yours." Dad shouted before he entered the bathroom. The shower ran for 30 minutes and my dad came out as good as new. He kissed the top of my head, grabbed his car keys, and headed to the grocery store. I had really hoped for a peaceful day but that of course couldn't happen for me. I groaned when the doorbell rang and could feel the hatred rolling off of me when I opened the door to see him.
