"Morning." Kenzie tells me as she hands me a granola bar.

"Morning." I yawn as I open the bar.

"Still tired?" Kenzie asks and I nod, "That's what happens when we come back from partying at 3 am."

"It was still a great party."  I say.

"Girls, get ready, we need to leave to the competition in 10 minutes." Mom tells us as she enters the kitchen.

"10 minutes?" I ask and we both stand up.

"I was going to tell you sooner but Maddie kept talking and talking." Mom says.

Maddie trying to ruin everything again, huh?

I run off to my room an change into my street clothes, zip up my team jacket, and style my hair into a twist ponytail. I pack my dance bag, take my phone, and run out of my room. Kenzie and I get inside the car, where Maddie was taking selfies and the radio was blasting 'Problem' by Ariana Grande.

"Hello?" Kenzie says, "HELLO!"

Maddie turns off the radio and looks over to us with an annoyed look.

"What do you want?" Maddie asks.

"To turn down the volume and acknowledge us." I tell her.

"Well, I just did both so, happy?" Maddie says and turns around.

I roll my eyes and just take out my phone.

I change into my duet costume, that was the same as Kalani's, and Holly starts doing my hair.

"Oh, where did you get you costume from?" Jill asks Kalani as she stretches, "It's beautiful."

Kalani was wearing her solo costume, and Jill was right, it was gorgeous. Holly finishes my hair and Maddie sits beside me.

"I need to talk with you." She whispers.

I was about to say 'Too bad, I don't want to talk to you, I'll ignore you just like you ignored me before', but then I thought that I should be the bigger person and stop all kind of drama between us.

"When?" I whisper back.

"When we go see the solos." Maddie whispers, "So it doesn't look so weird."

I give her a thumbs-up and she smiles, it's the first time I see her smile since pyramid at Wednesday. Kalani and Nia finish getting ready, but Kendall still doesn't have her prop, just because Abby isn't here today. Way to go. 

"Well, what would Abby tells us to do? If she was here right now?" Jill says,  "We don't have a costume, we don't have a prop--"

"You don't dance." Gianna finishes.

I see Kendall's mood drop and I feel bad for her, I know having a solo is really amazing, but sometimes your dance teacher doesn't care.

That's on Abby Lee Miller.

"Girls, you go ahead and go backstage, we'll go there soon." Mom suggests and Maddie tosses me my team jacket, I smile and put it on, "What's up with you two, weren't you mad at each other two seconds ago?"

We all go backstage, Maddie pulls me aside and puts her hands on each of my shoulders, looking at me straight in the eye. 

"I guess I just let the jealousy get over me." Maddie starts and I nod, "Hey!"

"Sorry." I tell her.

"Anyways, it's just that, we have hung out, but some of the time I have to be away working on other stuff. And Kalani comes around and--"

"You think I see her more than a sister than you." I finish.

"How did you know?" Maddie asks on a surprised tone.

"I heard you doing your interview." I say, "And I felt really bad for yelling at you before. I just wanted you to ex--"

She pulls me in for a hug, and I hug her back.

"Sister hug!" We hear Kenzie and suddenly feel another set of arms, "You should invite me next time."

"Will sure do." Maddie says as soon as we pull away, "Did the solos go in?"

"Kalani's in right now." Kenzie tells us, "Nia's up next."

"Let's go cheer on her." I say and we go back to the other girls.

"Entry number 26A, performing 'Master of Disguise." The EMCEE says as Kalani helps NIa get her masks on.

"Good luck!" I exclaim as Nia goes onstage.

"The costume's--" Kendall says, "Weird."

"Yeah, but still looks good though." I add as Nia starts dancing.

As soon as she finishes, we all greet and hug her.

"Don't worry." Kalani tells her, "I forgot my dance."

"Whatever," Nia says, "Maybe if I was a little bit more prepared that wouldn't have happened, but--"

"I feel the same way." Kalani says.

"Things just happen." Nia chuckles

"Let's get ready for the duets, or Kalani is the only one who was to get ready." Maddie says, referring to the fact that the rest of us were ready. 

We go back to the dressing room and help Kalani get ready, it was the same costume and same hairstyle at least. We go backstage again.

"Next up is entry number 35A, performing 'Through the Glass'." The EMCEE says as Maddie and Kendall go onstage.

They dance flawlessly, as if they were one person. That scared me. They finish and we greet them.

"Up next is entry number 36A, performing 'My Big Sister'." The EMCEE says and Kalani goes onstage.

The song starts and I slowly walk onto the stage and dance.

Everyone cheers and claps as we finish and go offstage, where we're greeted by the girls.

Maddie doesn't have anything to worry about, I'll always see her as my older sister, and not even Kalani will tear us apart.

We all hug and go back to the dressing room.

Also Kenzie, I don't want her to feel excluded so. Kenzie, I love you!  And I blow a kiss. 

There we change into the group dance costumes and do our makeup. We do the whole dance twice and Gianna sends us backstage.

"Judges, please welcome to the stage entry number 61A, 'Shame on You'." The EMCEE says as we all go onstage.

Burning through the night, bringing darkness to the flame, I'm searching for the light. Another rule to end the games. I fall into your arms, in search for something more, but your eyes are full of shame...

All right, we're gonna get started with the Energy teen solo division." The Announcer says, "In fifth place, we have entry number 26A, 'Master Of Disguise'."

Nia goes to receive her award as we clap for her.

"And in first place, entry number 25A. Kalani, who performed 'Unbeauty'."

Kalani goes receive her award, they bow and come sit back down.

They start with the mini duo/trio division, who those were a boring 30 minutes, they start announcing the junior ones, and soon we get to the preteen category. Somehow we ended up there, with me being a junior and Kalani a teen. 

"In third place we have entry number 20A, Beatrix and Rainey with 'Sweet Dreams'." The Announcer says, "In second place, we have entry number 35A, Maddie and Kendall with 'Through the Glass'."

Kendall goes receive the award.

"In first place, entry number 36A, Kalani and Melanie with 'My Big Sister'."

Kalani goes receive the award again.

Still thinking of why we are on this division, my guess is all the drama and the producers, bet 25 cents.

"We are moving on to the Energy junior small group division." 

Last division for us for today, I just want to go back home and sleep.

"In second place, entry number 3, 'Heaven'."

One more, one more.

"And in first place we have entry number 61A, 'Shame on You' from the Abby Lee Dance Company."

A big win for us, especially Nia, after Abby called her a traitor. The day finished well, both of the solos placing, both of the duets placing, and three first place wins.

At least all of this 'Maddie vs Melanie' drama is now over, hopefully we'll go back to keep our sibling bickering away from dance, or so I thought, there was another one on the way.
