Today's the day, the day I've been waiting for . . . A year maybe? I don't know.

"Girls, come on, let's go!" Miss Abby calls us as we all walk into studio A, "Come on, ladies!" She looks over to the moms, "Holly is busy?"

"She'll be here." Christi assures her.

"All right, we went to Starbound. We proved that you are national champions once again." Miss Abby says, "It's much, much, much more fun to win, ladies. All right, now, let's talk about this week. Before that let's officially welcome Melanie--"

The door opens and we look over, it was Jill, JILL?!

"Hi everyone." Jill looks over to Miss Abby, "Abby, can I talk to you?"

"Jill, you know what?"

"I know we had some differences--"

"I know. I'm right in the middle of the pyramid. You know how this works."

I cross my arms as they start arguing. This was my special day, so why did Jill have to come and ruin it? Kendall comes in and walks over to all of us. Chloe hugs her as Miss Abby keeps on arguing.

"As I was saying, let's officially welcome Melanie to the team!" Miss Abby exclaims and everyone claps, "We're going to Starpower in Lancaster. Not very far, but a big competition"

"Maddie, you will be doing a solo this week entitled 'I Can't Find the Words'. Paige, you also have a solo this weekend. Your music is entitled 'Creme de la Creme'. Nia, you have a solo this weekend. The music is entitled 'Working Girl', by Laquifa. I have one last solo. Melanie, you'll be doing a solo this weekend. It's entitled 'Never Forget You'."

The group dance was called 'Twilight', and Kenz and I were not going to be in it. I was going to start working with my solo tomorrow, so right after the group dance rehearsal, the four of us started our way to the car in the parking lot.

"I don't like vampires." Kenzie comments.

"I do!" Maddie exclaims, "It's so much fun!"

"Why don't you like them?" I ask Kenzie.

"They're creepy." Kenzie answers as we get to the car.

Mommy unlocks it and we sit inside.

"Maybe a little bit," Maddie tells Kenzie as she helps me with my car seat, "But just remember that Nick is the vampire."

"Girls, where do you want to go to eat?" Mommy asks.

"Burger King!" Kenzie exclaims.

Mommy starts driving.

"Wait," Kenzie looks over to Maddie, and after that to me, perks of sitting in the middle and being the middle child, "Are vampires real?"

"Of course not," Maddie answers, "Maybe. If tonight when you're asleep you feel someone touching you, maybe it is a vampire." She has a evil grin on her face and Kenzie screams.

"Kenzie!" Mommy scolds her.

"Sorry." Kenzie tells Mommy with an innocent tone, and proceeds to nudge Maddie on her arm, "Maddie!"

"What if it happens?" Maddie shrugs.

"Nah." I laugh.

We get to the restaurant and get off. We all walk in and Mommy goes order while the three of us sat down in a table.

"Should we go to the playground?"- I ask them.

"Yeah." Kenzie agrees.

"Let's go!" Maddie tells us and the three of us run to the playground.

"What do we play, tag?" Kenzie asks as she catches her breath, "Hide and seek?"

"Hide and seek."- Maddie and I say at the same time.

"Maddie counts!" Kenzie runs off and Maddie scoffs.

"Okay, 1 to 10." Maddie starts to walk away, "1 . . . 2--"

I follow Kenzie into the playground and we both hide where the slide is.

"10! Ready or not here I come."

We hear Maddie's steps the whole time and the two of us go down the slide. When we get down Kenzie hides under one of the tables and I hide on the next one. Maddie goes down the slide and doesn't notice us. Maddie walks out of the playground area and I look at Kenz confused. Maybe Mommy had the food? I stand up and walk inside. I walk over to the table and Kenzie soon follows me. After eating we leave and go back home.

•Three Days To Competition•

My solo's called 'Never Forget You' and it is an contemporary dance. I really like the song!

"The face!" Miss Abby yells.

I start my solo again. I start off walking to the stage and when I stop, I do a tilt. I look around and do a side aerial. I start doing some a la secondes.

"Remember that you need to hold the rose as you dance!"

I hold the rose even tighter as I continue. In the dance, I have a rose in my hand, the dance is about losing a loved one, I lost a loved one and I just want to remember him or her. 

At the end I do some more turns and rise the rose into the air.

"Your face." Miss Abby tells me as I walk over to her, "That's the big thing, you use your face, you can't slack off now. You're on the team now, you need to keep on improving from now on. You have to be the next Maddie."

I nod and leave the room. Guess I know how Chloe feels now.

•Two Days To Competition•

I was sitting beside Miss Abby as Maddie rehearsed her solo.

"See?" She looks over to me, "That's what you should aspire to be."

I nod and sigh.

We were all called into studio A. Miss Abby told Mommy to bring all of Maddie's crowns. Miss Abby starts explaining everything about each crown, and it was the most awkward thing ever.

•Competition Day•

I change into my solo costume and walk back into the dressing room to Kendall crying. I sit on front of the mirror and Mommy starts working with my hair.

"Melanie's up next." Miss Abby says and I walk up to her, "This is your chance, don't blow it."

Mommy walks over to me with a box. I recognized it. She takes the angel pin that my grandma used to wear and pins it to my dress. We hug and I go backstage with the girls.

"Next up is 'Never Forget You', Melanie." The announcer says and I go on stage.

Mads and Kenz hug me as soon as I get off stage. The other soloists went in soon and, tan tan tan, time for awards!

"The top five mini soloists," The announcer says, "In fifth place, Wendy, number 55."

Chloe takes my hand.

"In first place, Melanie, number 102."

Everyone cheers and claps as I go receive my award. They give me the huge trophy and a crown. I go sit back down and the girls hug me. Next were the junior nine-to-eleven solo awards. Nia was nint and got a special award, Paige was sixth, and Maddie was first. We all go back to the dressing room and Mommy hugs me.

Drama starts as soon as Miss Abby notices that Kendall's the only one who was the bow for the group dance. 

"I want to see Paige and Brooke." Miss Abby says when the drama is over, "I want to see your standing back tuck."

Brooke succesfully does it and we clap.

"Oh!" Paige exclaims, "I'll do mine."

"No, do not do your standing back tuck." Kelly says.

"No!" Miss Abby tells Paige, "This is cement under this carpeting."

"Can I try it, Miss Abby?"

"No."

"Paige, you will not do it."

"Just one time," Paige insists, "Come on."

"Well, then do it!" Kelly gives up, "Let's go, I wanna eat my lunch."

Crack. Paige hurt herself, who would've thought?

After the scene and drama, Miss Abby chose the dancers. Maddie, Chloe, and Brooke were going to dance with Nick.

They were first!
