Season 3, episode 8.

"These bugs just keep coming. We are going nowhere." Kai complained.

"Nya, there's no way we're getting off this planet. Any last words, my darling?" Jay asked over the com, trying to shock some beetles.

Cole groaned, "How about; It was always you, Cole. I won't be able to carry on without you." He said, earning a jealous look from the blue ninja.

"Now is not the time for that! Can't I care for both of you? Now just don't give up." Nya sighed.

"Where are the feelings you once had for Y/n?" Jay remarked, "Did they just disappear in thin air? Or was it all fake!?" He screamed.

"Geez, Jay. Calm down. It's okay." Y/n sushed her brother.

"My father was right, I should've never given up my golden power. We could have all been home. Now the Overlord has all he needs to become the Golden Master." Lloyd said.

"Don't say that. I was wrong. You must trust your friends. Trust yourself." Garmadon reassured.

Pixal turned to Garmadon, "They've returned with the Golden Weapons. It's only a matter of time." She informed.

"Search for the power within, then realize the greatness within each other." Sensei Wu told the ninja, nodding.

"He's right. We can get off this planet." The green ninja walked back to the ship.

Kai tried to burn some beetles, "What about your golden power, Lloyd?"

"It's too far." Y/n replied, sighing.

"She is right. He would never be able to keep his focus that long." Zane agreed.

Cole sighs, "No one happens to have a build-your-own-rocket-kit handy, do they?"

"Whoa. That's it!" Lloyd exclaimed.

"You have a build-your-own-rocket-kit?" Jay asked, excited.

"No, but we can make one. Arcturus may not fly, but she'll give us all the metal we need. And Zane knows this solar system better than anyone." Lloyd mentioned to the nindroid.

"And Kai's fire could weld the missing parts." The nindroid replied, nodding.

"Cole's manpower could do all the heavy lifting." Kai grinned, pointing at Cole.

"Jay has enough and nerd knowledge to make a halfway believable spacecraft." The master of earth motioned.

"Haha. Hey!" Jay scowled, but then turned to Lloyd, "Hey. This could actually work."

"Let's fire this thing up and see if she'll fly."

After a while of working, they're done with rebuilding a ship. Now they're sitting in the cockpit.

"Boosters?"

"Check."

"Electronics?"

"Check."

"Navigation?"

"Check."

"How are we holding together?"

"Bubblegum and a wish."

"Let's go home, fellas." Lloyd finished and pulled a lever. They flew off, heading towards New Ninjago City.

The ship was rocking violently, "Hold on, we're almost there." Cole said.

The master of ice motioned to his power source, "My power source has reached critical mass. It appears my unlimited energy is in fact limited."

"Critical mass? Like, it's gonna blow up?" Jay cried out.

"Don't worry about me. I must use my power to hold our vessel together." Zane reassured.

"No way, Zane. Entering the atmosphere means we have air." Y/n said, but chuckled after realising what she said, "I mean we always have air with me but-"

"No, it means we're gonna burn up."

"Listen! With just enough air, we can now support our elemental shields. Let's try, guys!" Lloyd replied, just before the ship exploded.

The elemental shields were holding them alive. Kai had a red one, Jay a blue one, Cole a black one, Zane a light blue one, Lloyd a green one and Y/n had a light purple one. They headed towards New Ninjago City, and the citizens saw them. Their hope returned.

"I hate to bring this up now, but parachutes would've come in handy." Cole chuckled.

"Friends and family make a good substitute." The red ninja replied, as Pixal was driving a bike, seeing the ninja coming in.

"Coordinating catch. Be on the lookout. Kai, go for 56 degrees north, 12 east." Pixal instructed, and the master of fire lands in his jet. "Zane, you're next."

"Don't worry, I've got you." Zane replied and lands in his jet.

"Ninja, go!" Cole and Jay yell, as they land in their vehicles. Lloyd landed on his motor, followed by Y/n falling in her jet.

"Ouch."

"Welcome home, Ninja." Sensei Wu greeted, arriving in a car with Garmadon. Nya was in her samurai x suit.

"Brother, I can't remember the last time we fought together on the same team."

"I have the city in my sights." Zane informed.

"City? That's not a city, that's an impenetrable fortress!" Jay screeched.

"Behind that wall, the Golden Master has the power of the first spinjitzu master." Garmadon told the others.

Cyrus Borg appeared on the screens of the vehicles, "Ninja, if you get this message, I've managed to escape and have found refuge within the temple of fortitude here in the city." 

"Temple of Fortitude? That was left over from the Stone Wars." Y/n frowned.

"The Overlord used it as a stronghold against the power of the First Spinjitzu Master." Sensei Wu finished for the purple ninja.

"It has a sacred seal of protection that can resist the Golden Power. Very clever." Garmadon chuckled.

"If you can make it here alive, I think I have a device that could defeat him." Cyrus continued.

"Then we have to get to that Temple. Everyone, stay together." Lloyd instructed and they start taking off, "Kai; You, Y/n, Nya, and Zane take the high road. We'll make our own road." He said lastly, before taking off and getting into the city.

Kai, Y/n, Nya and Zane tried to fly over the building that represented a wall, "Is that wall getting higher?" Nya asked, as she was indeed right, the walls were getting bigger.

"It's just like the digiverse. His turf, his rules." Zane explained to Nya.

They managed to reach the top and flew over the city, heading towards the temple.

Nya saved a old woman from two nindroids,  "Two down and moving onwards to the-" She got cut off by getting hit.

"Nya's down! I repeat, Nya's down!" Kai informed, turning around to go to his sister.

"I'm going back for her." Cole replied, determined.

"No, I'll go back." Jay insisted.

"Go back, and our probability to make it to the Temple exponentially diminishes." Zane said.

"This isn't about numbers, Zane. It's about family." Kai retorted.

"Everyone else head to the Temple, I'll go pick up Nya." Y/n sighed, flying towards the samurai girl.

"I've got her. She's on the corner of Bradley Boulevard and-" Everyone gets hit, knocked off their vehicle and laying in front of the golden master.

"The famous Ninja have time for a meet-and-greet. Let's dance." The Overlord chuckled and did a giant spinjitzu.

"Yeah, uhh, maybe another time." Y/n nervously replied and turned around to run away, followed by the boys. The spinjitzu from the Overlord attracted a lot of junk. 

The ninja had to dodge and kick away everything that flew in their way, trying to make it towards the temple.

They saw the temple and jumped in, still being followed by the Overlord. Garmadon and Wu closed the doors and activated the shield of the temple, stopping the Golden Master from getting in.

"You said you had a weapon that could stop him?" Lloyd asked as they saw Cyrus Borg.

"I do. It's my best protected secret."

"What is it?" Y/n asked.

"It is well-protected." Zane nodded as Borg went to unlock the safe it is in.

"Is it an ancient curse?" Lloyd suggested.

Kai made a flame appear in his hand, "I say fire power."

"I hope it rocks."

"Is it dangerous? Is it alive? Does it come with a manual? Is it a..a...a pill!?" Jay exclaimed, dissapointed.

"Ah, not just any pill, a nano pill. For all of time, scientists have been searching for the holy grail of inventions. A diet pill that actually works!"

Garmadon went to stand in front of Borg, "Wait until you are old, you'll see why it's so important. Tell me, Borg. Does it work?"

"No. But the nanotechnology inside has an adverse effect. It not only shrinks your waistline, but miniaturizes you as well."

"A shrinking pill?" Y/n asked, confused.

"Let me get this straight. You want us to get close to this guy, who has armor that with the mere tough, would make us toast, and you want us to give him a pill?" Kai groaned.

"Precisely!" Cyrus exclaimed.

"Brother, do you remember when both of us were on the same team?" Garmadon asked his brother, grinning.

Jay rolled his eyes, "Uh, hey, yeah, old timers, mind paying attention? We're trying to save the world here!"

"You're right, brother, on the playground when we were kids. Templegate Tigers."

The past dark lord chuckled, "Ha, I threw a mean curve ball, and your stick could thread the needle. We never lost."

"So true. Get us close, Ninja, and we'll give the Golden Master his medicine." Sensei Wu turned to the ninja. The old men then motioned towards some stone warrior armors.

The ninja took it and examinated the armors, "Are you sure this is gonna protect us?"

"If the Overlord's used this against the First Spinjitzu Master, I see no reason why we can't use it against those exact same powers." Garmadon shrugged.

Zane turned to Pixal, "Here. You take it." He offered his armor.

"No, you are vital to this mission. Don't worry about me. I shall see you again." Pixal refused, staring into Zane's eyes. Their cute moment got cut off by Garmadon.

"Zane. Zane, we have to go."

The ninja put on the armors and their gi's changed. Lloyd and Y/n noticed the Overlord managed to destroy the shield around the temple.

"Hey, the seal! It's broken!" Lloyd warned the others. The temple got surrounded by nindroids, but Nya appeared and shot them. The ninja, Garmadon and Wu run onto a building, seeing the Overlord tied all the buildings together by using golden wires.

Sensei Wu chuckled, turning to his brother, "Feels like old times, doesn't it?"

"Yes. It feels good." Garmadon replied, as a hand of roof tiles charged at them. The hand of roof tiles lost it's formation and just fell on them, leaving the ninja unharmed.

 The earth ninja gasped, "I don't believe it, the armor's working!"

"Keep going! We have to take the heat off the Senseis!" Jay yelled, running onto the golden wires.

They ran through the wires, and the Overlord couldn't make any new ones to stop them. He made a wall of cars, but the ninja ran easily through it. They reached the edge of a building, standing in front of the golden master.

"Are we sure he didn't become a giant spider?" Y/n asked, motioning to the giant spider-web like network. The boys looked at her and shrugged. The Overlord then made debris fall towards the people, trying to distract the ninja.

"We to save the people!" Lloyd exclaimed, looking at the screaming people.

"We have to get the Senseis closer!" Kai insisted, pointing at the brothers.

A snake came out of a well, signaling to the people to get in, the master of lightning looked at this confused, "The snakes are on our side? Great. Now I have seen it all."

"We'll never get close enough." Y/n sighed, pointing at the golden wire network.

"We won't need to. Ready to thread the needle, brother?" Garmadon smirked.

"Let's show them what old timers can do." Wu replied, and Garmadon jumped on one of the wires. Wu jumped up as well. Garmadon got fired up and pushed his brother even higher. At the same time Garmadon threw the pill at Wu, who striked the pill towards the Overlord.

Just before the Overlord was about to swallow it, Pythor jumped in front of him and swallowed the pill instead. He shrunk and cried loudly, complaining about his now; small body.

 "That was it? That was all you've got?" The golden master laughed, and the ninja gasped. The Overlord used his golden wires to grab everyone, except Zane, who managed to deflect the wires.

"The armor, why isn't it working?" Cole grunted, trying to escape.

"Because your time is over!" The golden master shouted again, gripping them tighter. 

"Th-that's not r-really an answer t-to that." Y/n breathed out.

"Support me, friends, for one last time." Zane said, getting into a fighting stance. He used his friends to jump towards the golden master. He grabbed two points of the armor the Overlord was wearing, trying to freeze him. "Let. My. Friends. Go." He groaned.

"Go where, doomed Ninja?" The Overlord asked, and Zane was shaking violently, trying to hold the armor and save his friends. "The Golden Weapons are too powerful for you to behold. Your survival chance is low."

A part of the master of ice's face fell off. "This isn't about numbers. It's about family." He inhaled deeply and the wires that were holding his friends let them go.

Zane's heart was starting to beat faster and the others stood underneath them, not managing to do anything. "He's not letting go!" Lloyd yelled in fear.

"His heart! It's reaching critical mass!" Jay exclaimed sadly.

"If his heart overloads, he'll blow! He'll never survive!" Cole added, scared.

"Let go of him, Zane!" Y/n yelled, scared, just like everyone else.

"What is he doing?" Kai asked, concerned.

"He's protecting us." Sensei Wu said.

"I am a nindroid, and Ninja never quit. Go, Ninja. Go!" Zane yelled, blasting ice towards the golden master.

"What are you doing? Let me go, you fool!" The Overlord shouted back.

"No, Zane, no!" Jay cried, wanting to run towards the nindroid.

"We have to get out of here now." Wu demanded, holding Y/n, Jay and Kai back, as a big snow storm hovered New Ninjago City.

Jay, Kai and Y/n were still looking at Zane, until Wu demanded them to close the well. The master of ice didn't stop, he kept on trying to freeze the golden master. He closed his eyes and thought about better times. The time he met Y/n and Jay, and with Cole they became a team. Eventually Kai joining. Them with the elemental blades, fighting the stone army. The time he found out he was a nindroid and got his true potential. When he met his father. 

"There's something special about you, Zane." Sensei Wu told him in his flashback.

Then he thought about the times they laughed together. When he found his funny switch. When he met the falcon and danced with it. 

"You were built to protect those who cannot protect themselves." Dr. Julien told him.

And with a smile, Zane succesfully defeated the Overlord.

The whole city was under a thick layer of ice, and the power shut of again. The ninja came out of the well, seeing the city under a layer of ice. Cole looked at the ground and saw a part of Zane's face, with Nya next to him. Nya started crying, along with Pixal and Y/n. The master of earth went to comfort Y/n and Kai helped Nya. Jay wanted to go to Nya, but realised she was with Kai and left it. He also wanted to go to his sister, but she was with Cole. He sighed and stared into the distance. 

"I used to think technology would be the answer to all of our problems..." Borg sighed.

The Ninja, their allies, and the citizens attended Zane's funeral.

"...But then I saw technology invent new problems. Devastating problems. And then a Nindroid named Zane saved us all. He was the perfect balance between us and technology. He taught us that life should be a balance. Technology can improve our lives, but so can people. And if we focus on one at the expense of the other, that's when the balance is off. Our city will find its way again, but this time with Zane as our compass. With that, I give to you the Titanium Ninja." Borg finished and revealed a statue, a titanium one. A titanium statue of Zane. 

"So, what happens after this?" Nya asked softly.

"I don't know." Cole sighed.

"And I don't care. Today's about Zane." Jay replied sadly.

"And now Kai would like to speak for those who knew him best." Borg motioned to the fire ninja to go on stage.

He did so and started talking, "Everyone wondered what powered Zane. I don't know if we'll ever know, but I'd like to think it was brotherhood. Because he powered me. And he'll still power me as his memory lives on. Ninja never quit, and Ninja will never be forgotten. Wherever you are, Zane, you'll always be one of us." He finished, as it began to snow.

Everyone looked up, smiling sadly. The ninja, Nya, Garmadon and Wu stood up, standing next to Kai and looking at the titanium ninja.

A little bit happier news, season 3 is finished! I absolutely love season 4. (It's my favorite. Cough, Shade and Turner, cough.)  And before I'll forget it, thank you for the 3,5K!
