Crush

Soldier's a pretty blunt guy, not gonna lie

But it takes him a while to really understand the change

Like

His heart gets fluttery when you say sweet things

He gets a bit nervous when you call for one of your late-night chats

He gets more protective of you than he already is

And gets pretty jealous when he notices other people looking at you that way they do

He has fun scaring them off though

Once he actually gets the fact that he has a crush on you, and takes some time to comes to terms with it, she just kind of gets straight to the point

Like, once day you two are hanging out and he's just kind of like

"Hey, do you feel like going to a date?"

Then you're just like "wot"

He elaborates

"Not like this type of thing. Like an actual date. Like dinner or something."

And you're still just like

"Wait a second, what?"

"I realized I have romantic feelings for you. I came to terms with it. Now I'm acting on it. Is this okay?"

You start to feel kind of giddy and say sure

You guys spend the rest of the time talking about date plans

Relationship

Dating him is when he finally sheds the entire stoic act and becomes the blushy man-child we all know that he can truly be

He stays at your house all the time

Usually not on purpose he just falls asleep there sometimes

You don't really mind though

To make up for it, he'll wake you up with breakfast

He'll also make lunch and dinner

His meals are always hella elaborate

Picnics and rom-com sessions are common activities

Loves to buy you things

Usually clothes and jewelry; just items you can wear and show off

He's not the best at picking colors or styles that will compliment you though, mainly because he can only partially see

How he makes these beautiful meals but still manages to pick you out a traffic cone orange polo tee is beyond comprehension

He's a bit embarrassed and sulky about this but you wear whatever he buys you with a lot of pride

That makes him blush

You sometimes hint at colors and styles when you notice he's interested in buying you a gift

He catches on pretty quickly and thanks you (probably followed by him revealing that one jacket you were showing to him earlier while out on a walk and window shopping)

You make a mental note to go harp on Angela about his glasses because he's so lost and uncomfortable without them or his visor

Weekends have become strictly no-work days

They've also become trip days and/or stay and home and wear onesies all day days

When he's gone on work, he messages you whenever he gets the time and always picks up a little knickknack from wherever he's at to bring back

He's always extra lovey dovey when he gets home from these missions

You always have something planned for when he shows up again, whether it be dinner, swimming, you in lingerie (he loves the sheer babydoll stuff), a little gift you bought him, etc.
