Why they thought it was a good idea to meet their hotheaded uncle rather than their more or less chill father, God only knows

Obviously, it did not turn out how they desired

Meaning Hanzo basically kicked their ass

Probably would have killed them if they hadn't summoned their dragon to shield themselves from his final attack

Like Genji had back in the day, this surprised Hanzo to the point where he calmed his shit just a lil bit

Just literally "The only members of the Shimada family left are my brother and I."

Cue dramatic dragon fade and the kid revealing their face

Strikingly similar-looking to Genji in their facial features

"I'm your brother's child; please let me explain."

Like, nah, kid, you'll be explaining either way

When the fuck did Genji have a kid??

So Hanzo sits their ass down (after making sure they're going to live because boy did he give 'em a beating) and makes them talk

Basically it goes like

"Welp, my dad fucked some floozy and floozy eventually had a kid. Now I'm going on that whole father search journey, kind of like the ones you see in the movies."

Hanzo's just like, "Yup, that's my dumbass brother going and breaking a condom got it fantastic."

Then he questions why they found him first if they know who Genji is

They're answer's basically "I wasn't exactly planned and I'm kind of terrified about confronting my father and you seemed kind of understanding before you tried to kill me so I thought I'd try this first."

Hanzo's actually snickers at this because how can someone be afraid of his brother and not him?

But he gets it

So he educates the kid about their father a bit, while getting to know the kid themselves

Eventually he offers to introduce them to the parent

The kid's still terrified but not as terrified so here they go then

Genji

At first, he's quite confused

Not sure whether he's more surprised about being a dad or the fact that his kid was so scared of him that he went to Hanzo first, of all people

Also vaguely wondering about how many times this has happened in the past but Genji this is not the time to wonder about a possible hoard of children coming after him

He's definitely not unwelcoming though

He welcomes both of them for tea, meditation, and story time

Kid's genuinely surprised about his father for multiple reasons

A) Hanzo wasn't kidding; Genji is totally a cyborg

B) How the fuck is this theoretically squishy monk-man their dad; from what they heard, their dad was a shitty person

C) Who is this other omnic guy hanging around? Dad's partner or something?

Genji's especially interested in the fact that they can summon a dragon

After chatting with them for a while (making his past clear, learning a bit more about them, basic first-time father meeting stuff), he asks them to summon it if they're comfortable with doing so

He promises to summon his own dragon if they do so they're even

He even encourages new uncle Hanzo to do so

The dragon's a more yellowish green but definitely resembles Genji's dragon, further confirming the fact

Genji welcomes them into the family now that they're here but also makes it clear that they don't have to associate with him and his brother if they don't want to

"Well, duh, I want to; otherwise I wouldn't be here"

So the young Shimada gets taken in and learn of their family from both the brothers

All the good and the bad, and the past and the present

Genji really is overjoyed to have a child, even if they didn't come from the best of circumstances

He tries his best to learn everything about them, to make sure that they're happy and healthy and that they spend the rest of their life having a decent life
