Midorima Shintaro

"AHHH!"

You jumped up from your seat as you heard your boyfriend scream. You heard something hit the floor right after. You ran down the hall to the bathroom where Midorima was taking his shower. You weren't sure whether you should go in or not so you knocked on the door.

"Shin, are you okay?"

When he didn't respond, you decided to go in anyways. When you opened the door, you saw him lying on the ground, unconscious, with a pool of blood under his head.  You immediately rushed over to him,

"Oh my god."

You lifted him up by his shoulders and pulled him out of the bathroom.

You huffed as you talked to yourself, "I need to take him to the hospital, but I can't take him in there naked."

You grabbed his robe off of the bed and quickly wrapped it around him. With him now being decently covered, you started your decent to the car. Pulling him to the car was a hassle, but you were just too worried about him.

Once you got to the hospital, you figured you should get some help and not drag Midorima into the hospital. A nurse noticed your panicked face and came over to you.

"Is there something I can help you with, Miss?" she spoke.

You turned to her, speaking "Ah, yes. I have an unconscious male with possible head trauma."

The nurse looked around then back to you. "May I ask where this man is?"

You nodded, pointing towards the door, "He's still in the car. I wasn't strong enough to carry him in."

She walked over to a man who looked to be another nurse. He walked over to you, asking you to show him where the car was.

After they got Midorima inside, he was taken back to a room in which you weren't aloud. While you were pacing in the waiting room, the doctor came out telling you that he was awake and that you could see him. You thanked him then almost ran to Midorima's room. When you got to the room, you saw him sitting there, staring at the wall.

You walked over to him and took his hand in yours.

He looked up when he felt the touch, but he asked, "Who is it?"

You were a little shocked, thinking that maybe the fall caused some kind of memory loss.

You leaned down closer to him, "It's (Y/N), your girlfriend."

You felt Midorima squeeze your hand and you looked down to see him making a weird face.

"(Y/N), why can I not see you?"

You sat on the bed beside of him, looking into his eyes even though he couldn't see you.

"I'm not sure Shin. I promise though, whatever it is, we'll get through it together."

You saw Midorima feeling around the bed obviously trying to find you. You gently grabbed his wrists, putting his hands on your shoulders.

He blushed a little, "Thanks, (Y/N)."

You smiled and hugged him. The two of you sat like for a while before the doctor came in with a distressed look. You instantly got worried upon seeing his face.

"Mr. Midorima-san."

Midorima looked towards the sound of the doctor, not quite looking at him, but he was close enough.

"Yes, doctor?"

The doctor walked over to you and Midorima.

"I am here to inform you that you are free to go. You seem to be doing better. However, there is some bad news." You felt Midorima tense up so you squeezed his hand, trying to calm him down.

The doctor cleared his throat before continuing, "It seems that the impact from your fall has caused you to go permanently blind. I know this must be some hard news to take, but you need to go to therapy as soon as you can. I will leave you two alone now."

Midorima nodded, looking down towards the bed.

He spoke, his voice cracking a little, "Yes, thank you doctor."

The doctor nodded to the two of you then left, leaving just you and Midorima. You could see him shaking and pulled him into a hug. You let him cry as you sat there, holding him in your arms. You hated seeing him like this; it absolutely broke your heart when he cried, which wasn't often.

It was a while before Midorima collected himself. You held him the whole time too. Once he was ready to go, you helped him out to the car and into the house once you got home. You couldn't begin to imagine what he was going through, but you made sure he knew you were there for him. When you got home, all Midorima did was sit on the couch. The only time he did anything was when he spoke to you.

"I guess this means I can't play basketball anymore."

The look on his face when he said that made your heart break for him. You didn't say anything back, only walked over to him and enveloped him into your arms.

"Shin, I know it's hard and I cannot even begin to imagine what you're going through, but I know that it's going to get better. You're a strong person and I know that you won't let this stop you from doing great things in life."

You felt Midorima kiss your head softly before whispering, "I love you (Y/N)."

-a few months later-

"Good Shin! Keep going!"

You smiled brightly as you watched your boyfriend shoot basketballs in your back yard. By now, he was used to most things and being blind wasn't slowing him down at all. He could even shoot like he used to sometimes, with a bit of your help.

You saw a small smile form on his lips when he heard the "swish" of the net.  He walked over to where he heard you earlier and pulled you into a hug.

"Thanks (Y/N)."

You looked at him with a confused look even though you knew he couldn't see.

"What for, Shintaro?" you asked.

"For never giving up on me. I know I'm not the most easy person to get along with and especially while I was trying to cope with my blindness. I'm sure there have been times where you wanted to give up, but you never did. You always stay no matter what. That's why I'm thankful."

You blushed at his words and you could see him blushing as well.

You smiled and hugged him tight, "That's because I love you, Shin."

A small smile formed on his lips as he held you in his arms, "I-I love you too (Y/N)."
