i think i'll miss you forever

E D E N WASN'T SURE HOW SHE managed to graduate, but she found herself in a disgustingly bright-coloured yellow gown and cap surrounded by families and teachers she couldn't recognise. She felt as though her heart was going to escape from how fast it was beating as she glanced at Jacob grinning and waving at her. 

"Our answers were things like astronaut, president" She could hear Jessica say, who was apparently the class valedictorian, Eden wasn't sure how she managed to be one with how much the human girl liked to spend her time gossiping and shopping but each to their own. 

As Eden went to whisper a joke in Bella's ear, who sat directly on her left, she realised the girl was zoning out, biting her lips that were in a frown. Things were still a bit awkward between the two, and Eden had to force herself to accept that despite how close she thought they were, Bella would always choose Edward above all. It hurt, but that was life, and aside from Jacob, Eden couldn't help but not care about anything else. 

The two had that in common, she guessed. Where their life revolved around a guy, but the only difference was that Eden had no one else, and Jacob wasn't just a random guy. He was her soulmate, someone she would spend the rest of her life with.

"Or in my case, princess. When we were ten, they asked again and we answered, rock star, cowboy, or in my case, gold medalist. But now that we've grown up, they want a serious answer. Well, how 'bout this, who the hell knows!" Jessica continued and that made Eden think over the loud claps and cheers. She wasn't immortal like the Cullen's, her aging slowed down similarly to the wolves and now that she's graduated, she wanted to do something with her life. 

She wanted to go to university, explore the world and maybe become a nurse just like she always wanted to when she was younger. She couldn't just rely on staying between the Cullen's and Jacob's house. In her mind, she was still seventeen years old. She didn't like to include all those years she was locked up, so Eden stared at the stage determined before she suddenly heard her name get called out. 

She walked up to the stage with a wide grin, her heart still beating rapidly. She felt like a pure human as she walked up to the principal and shook his hand as she received her diploma, clenching it tightly between one hand. She could hear Jacob's loud clapping and cheering, and that made her whole body tingle with happiness. 

As she walked off, she could hear the next student get called out but all that mattered to her was running into Jacob's arms, who greeted her with a kiss. She reached up for his neck, and he pulled her up by her waist and onto her tiptoes. The kiss was short and simple as they pulled away from each other. An awkward cough distracted the two, and Eden noticed Carlise and Edward standing awkwardly. 

"Very proud of you, Eden. You've turned into a beautiful, respectful girl" Carlise said, with a small smile. Edward nodded in agreement as he looked at anything else but Eden. The were-coyote couldn't help but show her annoyance with an eye-roll. 

"Thank you, I mean truly, thank you both for everything that made me into who I am today" Eden replied sarcastically, before turning her attention to Jacob who chuckled at her and pulled her closer into him and showed her a small poster about the graduation party.

Before she knew it, Eden's head laid on Jacob's shoulder as they slowly danced, surrounded by teens and couples. They were at the graduation party and all she could feel was pure happiness. Eden was finally happy, and call her selfish but that's all she's ever wanted. 

"What are you doing here?" She heard a soft voice question, parting away from Jacob, Eden looked up and saw Bella staring directly at Jacob with a small frown. 

"Eden invited me, what's it to you?" Jacob replied with a scoff, rolling his eyes and Eden could feel her jaw clench at Bella's audacity. The human's gaze softened before nodding in understanding. 

"E-Eden, I just want you to know I'm sorry for how Edward has treated you," Bella said before wincing, as she looked around the dance floor, "and he's trying to be better, I promise". Eden realised this was Bella's way of saying 'Sure he's treated you badly, but I'm going to stick with him'. 

"Bella, trust me, you can fuck him as long as you want. I don't care" Eden replied with a chuckle, before she noticed Alice stood frozen near the stairs. She was having a vision and it seemed Bella noticed too, as alarm clouded over her face. 

"We'll be right back" Eden said to Jacob, who nodded before pulling Bella's arm and making their way through to Alice, however, Eden could sense Jacob didn't care and continued to follow them. 

"Alice, what did you see?" Bella said, fear in her tone as Eden noticed the way Alice looked terrified and worried. Her eyes were looking for something as she avoided their stares.

"I-I need to talk to Jasper" Alice rushed out, but before she could move Jacob blocked her way with a glare on his face. The shifter loved to involve himself in things it seems. 

"Why don't you talk to me?" He smirked, and Eden knew things were going to get extremely bad once Jasper appeared out of nowhere, the expression on his face was lethal. 

"I suggest you remove your arm before I do." Jasper gritted out and watched as Jacob slowly moved away, as if to further annoy the vampire and it made Eden's silently laugh. The shifter placed his arm around Eden's waist as they stared at Alice expectantly. 

"The decisions been made" Alice said, looking directly at Jasper as if he would sooth everything. Eden froze, she knew exactly what Alice meant. If the decisions had been made, this meant that there was a high chance the Volturi would come to Forks, and she'd be forced to see Demetri once again. 

"What's going on? You're not going to Seattle?" Bella questioned, looking at Eden confused before looking back at Alice. 

"No, they're coming here" Alice replied, and Eden knew they had to get the rest of the Cullen's. It seemed a little reunion had to be formed. They all walked out of the graduation party in a hurry, and Eden didn't realise, but Embry and Quil were also at the party. They noticed the fear on their faces and followed the group, where they found the rest of Cullen's waiting outside, panic on their faces. 

"How long?" Edward questioned, as soon as he noticed them coming up to them. He stared at Alice urgently and Bella was playing with her hands nervously. Eden just wanted to go back and dance with Jacob, as if everything was fine once again, but she knew she couldn't escape her way out of this. 

"They'll be here in four days"

"This could turn into a blood bath" Carlise said, running one hand through his hair in nervousness. Eden could feel Bella slowly move closer to her, gripping her arm for comfort. In return, Eden held her hand tightly and squeezed it. 

"Whose behind it?" Edward spoke up, his lips in a thin line as he stared at Alice expectantly. 

I didn't see anyone I recognised. Maybe one" Alice replied, staring directly at Edward who froze as he read her mind. 

"I know his face. He's local, Riley Biers." Edward replied, before looking at Bella who began to slightly shake next to Eden. The human recognised the name, however, Eden couldn't remember ever hearing his name or anything about him. 

"He didn't start this" Edward simply stated, pointing out the obvious. 

"Whoever did is staying out of the action"

"They know about your visions, they're playing with the blind spots in your visions. It has to be someone we know" Eden said, biting lips as she glanced at Jacob who was frowning. He was confused and worried. 

"Either way, the army is coming, and there aren't enough of us to protect the town," Jasper said, huffing in frustration and Eden noticed Jacob freeze next to her. 

"Hold up, what damn army?" Jacob questioned as he looked around the group, Eden noticed from the corner of her eye that humans were walking passed them and staring at the group in confusion. Carlise and Edward shared a look, it was obvious they were silently debating on whether they should tell Jacob. Edward shook his head, but Eden didn't care. 

"Vampire newborns, I think I've already mentioned it to you" Eden quietly replied, letting her hand go from Bella's and crossing her arms. Jacob's eyes widened in recognition, and it suddenly reminded her that Jacob was still new to this supernatural world and Eden couldn't help but feel guilty for not informing him of this sooner. 

"What are they after?" Embry suddenly spoke out, surprising Eden as she had forgotten he and Quil were there.

"They were passing around Bella's scent, a red blouse" Alice revealed, and Eden couldn't help but look at Bella betrayed. Sure things have been a bit patchy between them, but she was always there for the human and she expected her to inform her of these types of things. 

"They're after Bella?" Embry questioned, looking at Bella confused and Eden recognised the way he was staring at Bella. He couldn't understand why they would want to hunt down a human girl. 

"What the hell does this mean?" Jacob said, anger laced in his tone as he waved his arm around. 

"It means an ugly fight. With lives lost." Carlise replied, frowning slightly. Eden let out a quiet huff as she realised what that meant, before catching Jacob's sober look at her. She furrowed her eyebrows before realising what his look meant as he gave a nod towards her and the other two shifters. 

"Alright, we're in"

"No, you'll get yourselves killed. No way" Bella said, shaking her head rapidly and Eden could feel herself slowly agreeing, she didn't want him to hurt himself however with the stubborn look on Jacob's face she knew she wouldn't win if they argued about it. 

"I wasn't asking for permission" Jacob simply replied before pausing as he looked at Eden, "And I know you lot would involve Eden in this, so count us in" Jacob continued, as he pointed towards Embry and Quil. 

Eden knew she had to shut her mouth, she'd voice her her concerns to Jacob later, who gave her a look as he knew what would be coming. Bella moved towards Edward with a panicked look on her face. 

"Edward!" Bella said expectantly, hoping he would stop Jacob and Eden from fighting, however, Edward had a grim look, frowning slightly as he looked at the two. 

"Bella, the more people you have, the more protection there will be" Eden said, putting her hand on Bella's shoulder. Somehow she was wrapped in protecting the human once again, but she knew this would eventually happen from how much trouble followed Bella. 

"Eden." Bella huffed out as she gave a disapproving glance towards the were-coyote who simply shrugged her shoulder in response. 

" Do you believe Sam will agree to an understanding?" Carlise said awkwardly to Jacob who smirked at him, his eyes shining and Eden knew nothing good would come out of the way they twinkled. 

"As long as we get to kill some vampires"

"Jasper?" Carlise nodded in understanding, however, Eden noticed Bella wince at Jacob's reply but what could the human expect. It was natural for shifters to want to kill some bloodsuckers. 

"They'll give us the numbers. And the newborns won't know they even exist. That'll give us an edge" Jasper replied, putting his hands inside his pockets as a grim silence slowly overtook them. Eden's heart began to beat faster as she knew there was a possibility someone could die, there was a chance Jacob could hurt himself and she didn't know how she could face that. 

"We'll need to coordinate," Carlise replied as he looked at the group, and Eden slowly moved towards Jacob, wrapping her arm tightly around his. 

"Carlisle, they're gonna get hurt," Bella said, pointing towards the shifter, clearly the human wasn't giving them the credit they deserved. They were strong, some even stronger than vampires and she was sure with the pack and the Cullen's, they could beat the newborns. 

" We'll all need some training. Fighting newborns requires knowledge that Jasper has. You're welcome to join us. Alright." Carlise said, barely giving Bella any attention aside from patting her shoulder in acknowledgment. 

"Name the time and place" Jacob replied with a grin, making Eden feel slightly proud at how strong and determined he was. At that, the group slowly began to separate and Eden began to walk away with the group of shifters before Bella stopped them. 

"Jake, Eden, you guys don't know what you're getting yourself into."

"Bella, this is what we do. You should be happy, look at us, working together. You're the one who wanted us to get along, remember?" Jacob grinned as Eden lay against him, comfortably. 

"But youse could get hurt" Bella said, emphasising the end of her sentence as she looked at Eden expectantly with a frown on her face. 

"With the Cullen's and the pack, we'd be fine. Don't worry Bella, go home" Eden said, patting Bella on her shoulder before pulling Jacob back into the graduation party so they could continue to dance. Jacob's eyes twinkled as he laughed, wrapping one hand around Eden's shoulder as they walked away. Bella watched them leave silently, guilt eating at her.  

Eden knew she was being stupid for pretending as though there wasn't a chance they could get hurt, but for now, they could act as though they were simple teenagers with no worry in the world. They could practice and fight later, it was just Jacob and her against the world.

just fucking realised that jacob in eclipse is like 16 years old.. um what?? the age gap between eden and jacob is lowkey making me uncombfy but im trying to justify it by her being caged up and not experiencing anything that would make her more mature then a 17 years old. so basically theres only one year difference between them, i hope hahahha. 

also are youse liking the new cover, im lowkey hating it and its itching at me to change it but i'll see.
