E D E N WAS IN BELLA'S ROOM WITH THE HUMAN HERSELF and Jacob. The idea that her own cousin was going to expose himself to humans in order to die was something that's never crossed her mind. She knew the vampire was always broody and dramatic, but not to this extent- to the point he would expose himself to the Volturi because his human lover 'died'. Edward and Eden used to be close when they were younger, before they knew the existence of supernatural beings. Wherever Edward went, Eden followed.

That ended once Edward became a vampire and Eden discovered what she was, they were suddenly strangers. Despite them barely even acknowledging each other's existence- excluding the times Edward would repeatedly message Eden on how Bella was, and the time he participated in Eden being locked up... the were-coyote still deeply cared for him. Memories of him protecting her from her own parents when they were younger would never leave, especially the sense of security that came with it.

Bella was shoving clothes into a bag, and Eden was doing the same. She had a few clean clothes from the multiple nights she stayed over Bella's house. Jacob was standing in front of the door with a scowl on his face as he watched the two girls. Eden didn't want to acknowledge his existence, it shouldn't matter if she was protecting Bella. They should still be together and help each other grow, not put their relationship on hold until things cool down. It just didn't make sense to her. She let out a huff as she grabbed a sweater, recognising it as one of Jacob's rare sweaters. The man never has a shirt on, always walking around shirtless. Today was one of Jacob's rare days in which he actually wore one, a plain back short sleeve shirt.

"Why do you have to go?" Jacob questioned, finally speaking to Eden after their intimate moment. He had his arms crossed and the scowl was still on his face; he was brooding. This made Eden want to laugh at how he was acting but she didn't dare to.

"He won't believe Alice. He has to see that Bella is alive and I'll be there to make sure nothing goes wrong" Eden replied as she continued to pack, not facing him. Her hands were twitching, desperately to feel his warmth but she didn't dare to listen to what her body was telling her.

"He left Bella. He didn't want you anymore, remember?" Jacob began to say before looking at Bella with a frown, reminding her of a fact that's been haunting her. Eden rolled her eyes, the man might be very attractive and caring at times but he was stupid, and didn't know how to read the room.

"But I still love him, and I'm not going to let him kill himself out of guilt." Bella replied with a frown.

"What about your dad?"

"I'm eighteen, legally free to go. I'll leave a note." Bella rushed out as she continued to pack but stopped once Alice entered the room.

"Got the airline tickets." Alice said with a small smile on her face but that quickly dropped when she saw the look on Jacob's face.

"You Cullen's might hunt animals but those monsters in Italy don't" Jacob snapped at Alice, who narrowed her golden eyes at him.

"I'm well aware what the Volturi are." Alice sassed, rolling her eyes at Jacob and turned to Eden, who finished packing and was waiting patiently on the bed.

"You're also going with us." Alice said, her eyes softening before looking away from the were-coyote. Eden simply nodded, it was expected that she was going with them. She had her bag already packed and now she just needed to go.

"Why are you taking Bella and Eden to them like a bottle of wine to a party?-" Jacob snapped, glaring at the vampire before speaking up again,"No way is Eden going with you. She's staying with me." Jacob demanded. Eden's heart skipped a beat as Jacob walked closer to her until he was right besides her. His dark brown eyes were soft as he looked at her, analysing her face. Under the moonlight, Eden looked up at saw Jacob's perfect tan face looking right back at her.

"They aren't better off here with Victoria stalking Bella. The one you dogs can't seem to catch? She knows Eden is with her, Bella practically smells like Eden!" Alice exclaimed before scoffing once Jacob looked away from Eden and began to growl, a shudder ripping through him. Eden knew it would bring him pain if they didn't see each other for a few days, but that pain was bearable because they lived new each other... although now, she was travelling to a whole different country. This pain would be stronger for both of them, and the itching to be near each other that Eden felt constantly would expand ten times more.

"Let's go," Bella mumbled softly to Alice, she grabbed her hand and the two girls walked towards the door before Bella stopped and looked at Eden, "Calm him down please, you have five minutes". The were-coyote gave her a short nod and stood up, facing the werewolf. His thick eyebrows were scrunched up and he had his lips pursed.

'' Please, Eden. Stay for me" Jacob whispered as he moved closer to the girl, he tearily looked at Eden and held her soft hands. They might not be whatever they were a few hours ago, but they were still soulmates. Nothing would change that. Eden's heart ached at Jacob's troubled expression.

"Jacob, I need to go.. Edward is my cousin. Knowing he may face his death in a few hours is literally killing me. I can't stay in Forks" Eden softly explained, sadness lacing her tone. Her whole world felt dark, she felt like she was dancing around with Jacob and what they could be,
despite the facts being there, they were soulmates but something was stopping them. She also needed to leave soon, her cousin could be no more if she didn't go.

"I understand, but you'll be safer here" he said, squeezing her hands as he frowned, "You never think about yourself. Bella and Alice can save him" he begged. They were standing barely inches away from each other and Eden felt her heart breaking into pieces. She wished he would just understand that Eden needed to go, it wasn't as easy as he thinks.

"I'm doing this for myself, I need to make sure Edward is safe" She replied, before letting go of his hand and stepping away from him. Immediately her body missed the warmth of his, to which she ignored and looked out the window. Bella and Alice were staring up at them from the car, a reminder that she needs to end this and leave soon.

"If you care about me, please stay" He begged, a frown was on his face and tears were slowly streaming down his face. It hurt Eden, she felt her heart ache and just for a moment the words, "I'll stay" were about to leave her pouty lips, but she stopped herself. She shook her head and stepped further towards the door.

"I'm sorry, we'll continue the conversation about what we are when I come back" Eden sorrowfully replied, her hand softly touched the cold door handle before the words that came out of Jacob's mouth made her freeze.

"If you leave, we won't be having a conversation about what we are. What we have won't exist anymore... so please, stay"

The broken were-coyote opened the wooden door widely and stepped out, walking out of the Bella's room and soon into the car where Bella and Alice were. She left the werewolf in the house, who sat on Bella's bed, crying and took his heart with her.
