" E D E N, I NEED YOUR H-HELP, PLEASE C-COME." EDEN HEARD BELLA'S CRIES THROUGH THE PHONE. "I'll be there in a few minutes," She worriedly answered, before getting off her bed and rushing to put her slippers on. It was currently three am in the morning and Bella was clearly trouble. She couldn't decide if she should shift or drive her car but before she knew it, she was grabbing her car keys and rushing to the door. Eden hadn't talk to Bella since her was left in the rain with her a few days ago. Bella had quietly dropped her off to the Cullen's house and waved her a goodbye, so Bella randomly calling her and crying was a surprise.

By the time she arrived at Bella's house, it was 3: 20 am. Eden glanced at the front door before climbing the tree in front of the window in Bella's room with ease. Peeking through the window, Eden saw her thrashing in her bedsheets. She furrowed her eyebrows and sniffed the room. It reeked of fear, anxiety and sweat- basically depression.

Climbing through the window, Eden locked it and took small steps towards Bella. It seemed like Bella didn't realise she called her, having fallen fast asleep afterwords. This was another reason for Eden to be worried. Her heart ached for the human, she was pathetically in love with a vampire and would risk everything for him. Eden felt the familiar feeling of anger towards Edward.

A small shriek escaped Bella's lips and that's when Eden quickly lunged towards her bed, she wanted to calm her down and make sure her dad doesn't storm in the room for him to see Eden staring at Bella. That would be extremely creepy.

"Bella, Bella, it's okay" Eden cooed softly, her hand running through Bella's soft hair. The young human pillows were stained with her tears and Eden felt sympathy for her. A whimper left Bella's mouth before she began to shake her head and wither in her bed. Panicked, Eden blurted out something you probably shouldn't say to a person who was having a nightmare.

"Bella wake up or I swear to god I will make you wish you were dead!" Instant regret came over her as Bella's eyes slowly opened, the withering seeming to stop. The two shared eye contact as they blinked at each other. Eden realised that she probably shouldn't have forced Bella to calm down.

"W-what?" Bella stuttered awake, her dark brown hair looked like a birds nest and her dark brown doe eyes were widened in terror. She let out a whimper as she blinked at Eden.

"Bella, you called me. Do you need water?" Eden explain as she softly wrapped her arms around her. Bella shook her head repeatedly, tears were slowly streaming down her flushed cheeks and Eden's heart once again ached for her. The poor girl was too young to deal with a pedophile vampire boyfriend who ditched her for her own apparent 'safety'.

"I-I just want to sleep Eden, I haven't had a proper sleep in weeks. It's literally killing me, the nightmares keep getting worse and worse each time." Bella sobbed, hugging Eden tighter. Eden helped her feel protected, she gave off this energy that she'll always be safe with her but the heartbreak was too much. The were-coyote continued to whisper sweat nothings into the humans ear, promising to never ditch her like her cousin did.

Lost in thought as Bella quieted down, but still breathing heavily, Eden knew if she asked Bella what her dreams were about, she would have a panic attack so Eden was left with no choice but to just comfort her. If Bella had called her crying in the middle of the night a few weeks ago before they properly bonded, Eden probably would've hanged up to her face but having more human interaction has helped her.

"Bella, go to sleep. Don't worry, I'm here and I'll make sure you'll stay safe." Eden whispered to her once she realised Bella's cries were becoming quieter and quieter until they stopped, only small whimpers and sniffles were heard, replacing the loud breathing. Bella looked at Eden tiredly, nodding she laid her head on Eden's lap and dozed off. Eden softly ran her hands through Bella's hair, the poor girl didn't deserve this.

Eden was now once again, left alone in her thoughts. She thought about Jacob and how she hasn't seen him since she was first 'introduced'. She was happy that he ended whatever was happening between him and Bella, although Bella was still heartbroken from her boyfriend ghosting her, and now her best friend too. Eden didn't mind if they were friends but she just wanted to confirm from him that his feelings for Bella are over. But how could she confirm it when they haven't even spoken to each other yet?

Sighing, Eden softly laid Bella's head on her dry pillow and started to walk around Bella's room, she had some interesting books but that's it. Looking at the photos Bella has hanged up on her wall, she noticed a photo of her and Edward; he had his arms around her and they were looking at the camera with small smiles. Eden smiled at it bitterly as memories of her and Edward swarmed through her mind. They used to be so close.. until Edward decided he didn't need her anymore and that the were-coyote was too wild for him and the Cullens.

A whimper echoed through the room, interrupting Eden from her thoughts. She turned around and saw Bella thrashing around once again. She ran quickly towards her, and held her still whilst cooing sweet things. Bella's movements became slower and slower. Eden could feel tiredness creeping up to her but she shook her and ignored it. Glancing down at Bella, she realised in her arms, Bella was relaxed and seemed at peace- which she knew would not last for long.

Eden gave her a small smile and decided to call Rosalie. Walking out of the room, she walked quietly into the bathroom and locked the door. Pulling out her phone, Eden was about to press on the icon to call the blonde vampire before her head quickly turned to the bathrooms door. Someone was in Bella's room and they smelled like the forest. Ignoring the butterflies in her stomach, Eden shut her phone and made a mental note to call Rosalie before walking back towards Bella's room.

She waited a bit longer outside Bella's room, try to calm down her nerves before she opened the door. Bella was now wide awake and whispering to Jacob. They both turned around with wide eyes and looked at her.Bella let out a relieved sigh, thinking it was her dad before giving Eden a small smile whilst Jacob's brown eyes widened, frozen as he stared at the were-coyote.

"Hello." Eden greeted once she snapped out, she smirked and walked in. She laid down on Bella's bed as she observed the two. Last time she was in the room, Bella was sleeping and now she's wide awake talking to Jacob. Bella had dried tears on her face and her hair was like a birds nest, this made Eden smile before scowling once she saw Bella's face. The teenager was upset.

"Why are you here?" Bella asked, her eyes teary as she looked into Jacob's eyes. He needs to leave Bella alone so she can be happy again, the last time he saw Bella, he was telling her to leave and now he's here? Eden wondered what he was up to.

"I had to talk to you." He muttered to her, brown eyes flickering towards Eden. He unconsciously moved closer towards the bed but maintained eye contact with Bella. Eden shifted uncomfortably in the bed, to her it felt as though he was telling Eden he wanted to talk to her, but she knew now it wasn't the time. She wasn't sure when she would get the chance to talk to her soulmate, she's been itching to go to him but for some reason she's too nervous. What if she can't live up to Bella's hype? What if he'll never want her and he'll harshly reject her when she tries to talk to him? These thoughts have kept Eden up at night.

"Why? Huh, to kick me in the gut again? It was bad before, but you made it so much worse." Bella said angrily suddenly not sad anymore. She moved her hands around as if to emphasise her points and looked at Eden for reassurance who was narrowing her golden eyes at Jacob. Even though Jacob is her soulmate, they haven't established anything between them so with the way he's acting, it made Eden want to protect Bella from him.. and maybe keep the two away from each other. She couldn't tell if it was the jealousy for wanting to keep Jacob away from Bella or the need to protect her.

And why does Jacob even want to talk to Bella if he ended their friendship? He has hers now, at least she hoped so.

"I know, and I want to explain, but " Jacob began before pausing, Eden already knew the next thing he was going to say pained him. " I can't."

Dumb-ass wet dog, each second passing by Eden was getting frustrated. She's now slowly began to realise that she may not have a place in the conversation whenever Jacob and Bella interacted, but she hoped it would've be the same when she and Jacob begin to interact with each other. They haven't even said one word to each other, and that thought is at the back of Eden's mind.

"Then leave." Bella cried out, she was extremely confused and looked at her source of comfort; Eden, who got up with a glare on her face. Bella was uncomfortable and because of Edward, Bella is her priority. She stood in front of the fragile human and looked Jacob in the eyes properly for the first time. They were finally face-to-face, and under any different circumstances, Eden probably would've grabbed his face and smashed their lips together. Although that wasn't the case, so she hardened her gaze and looked him in his beautiful soft brown eyes.

"You're done with her, remember? So get out." She sneered and pointed towards the window. Jacob looked at Eden pouting, before softly moving her out of the way so he can face Bella but keep her in arms reach. Eden froze from the spot he put her in. He lifted her with ease and his hands were rough but warm. It made her feel butterflies, the glare was long-gone and now a love-struck gaze aimed at Jacob overtook her. He shifted in his spot as he looked at Eden before quickly looking back at Bella, who was impatiently waiting for him to speak.

"Bella, I-I literally can't explain." He whispered before nervously shifting closer to Eden. Their hands were now touching and Eden's fingers twitched, wanting to hold his. She tried her best to not look at their hands, and instead at Bella who was too busy in her frantic thoughts to realise.

She's had a lot of people in her life, despite her short-lived teenage years It's a long list and she doesn't feel like adding more people to it- but it's her soulmate whose currently having communication issues with her close friend, her cousin's lover.

"I broke my promise not to hurt you. I know, but I'm trying to keep it now. I need you to understand- even if you don't want to see me when you find out." Jacob said nervously, the presence of Eden was calming him down meanwhile Eden could feel herself becoming more frustrated. She can tell Jacob was having an inner turmoil in which he didn't who he should focus his attention on. Bella and Jacob were having an intimate moment and Eden felt like she was in the way. Jacob's presence was just distracting herself from ripping Bella's face-off, with her teeth. Eden hated feeling like this, she didn't want to be jealous of her human friend, but she also didn't want to feel like she was the second choice- bloody hell she's his mate, he should be in her room wanting to talk to her instead of being in Bella's.

"Find out what?" Bella queried confused, her brown eyebrows were furrowed in confusion and she looked at Eden for help but Eden just shook her head. It isn't her place to explain Jacob's werewolf situation and she didn't want to include herself in whatever this situation is. For now, she'll wait for it to get over and done with, and maybe she can finally talk to her soulmate.

Jacob began to explain, but Eden realised he can't. He looked agonized, the pact stopped him from explaining and whatever words that came out of his mouth didn't make sense. Bella rushed closer to him as Eden watched him worriedly, she hesitantly laid her hand on his shoulder.

"Are you okay?" Concern lacing Bella's tone, Jacob looked at her and shook his head, pushing her away from him.

"What's wrong?" Eden asked worried, she faced him and looked deeply into his dark brown eyes. Jacob let out a soft sigh as he stared back, before shaking his head and began to frown in frustration.

"I can't do it" Jacob answered her and let out another sigh. Maybe Sam told him not to mention anything?

"Yes, you can. I'll-" Bella started to say before stopping herself. By now she's calmed herself, and isn't as panicked as she was when Eden and Jacob originally entered her room. She can now focus, and so she glanced at the closeness between Eden and Jacob before looking away. She wondered when they had become close before she realised there were more important matters to think about.

"We'll help you. We can.. we can leave. Leave home, leave Sam." Bella tried to convince him, Eden realised that she's blaming Sam for Jacob's distance and Eden couldn't help but feel bitter at her choice of words. And whose 'we'?, she let out a small scoff before looking away.

Eden wanted to tell Bells that she is his mate, not hers. She already has Edward.

"It's not something I can run away from," Jacob started to say before he stopped in thought, "I would run away if I could- wait, wait. I already- I told you. You know this, you can guess, a-and Eden already knows!"Jacob said happily, his eyes twinkling as he looked at Eden with a smile.

This made Eden incredibly happy, she smiled back at him before nodding in agreement. She does in fact know, but she also doesn't know if its against the treaty to tell Bella what he is.

"I don't want to play games with you-" Bella began but Eden interrupted her, she felt like she should finally say something.

"Bella, you have to. Jacob is right, I know what he is and if he wants I think I can tell you, but for now let him explain" Eden softly said to her before looking at Jacob and nodded.

"If you remember, it was that day I ran into you on the beach. I told you a story- come on! I told you a story ... about?" He begged, and gave Bella pleading eyes, hoping she'd finally realise what he's talking about. She connected the dots about what the Cullens were in a few days, she should be able to figure out what Jacob is talking about.

It was silent for a minute before Bella made a weird face, "About.. the 'Cold Ones', you said it was a stupid tribal myth." Bella said confused, Eden let out a quite yay and clapped her hands. Bella finally knows and maybe this will give the two soulmates to finally have a one-on-one conversation.

"Was it? Are the Cold Ones a myth?" Jacob questioned, though he already knew the answer. He subtly pointed towards Eden, because Eden's family are obviously the cold ones. Bella followed his hands and her eyes laid at Eden, she furrowed her eyebrows in confusion. She knew the Cullens were vampires, clearly.

The human stayed quite, to which Jacob took that as a sign to continue, "What else did I say?" he queried, urging her to figure out he's a damn werewolf.

"That.. the tribe made a treaty with them. They can't come onto your land and.. I don't know, I don't remember." Bella answered quietly. Eden realised Bella was struggling so she decided to help out a bit.

"Bella, remember how I was like I can't go to the land, because of the treaty..?" Eden hinted, Bella looked at her and nodded before looking down again.

"I thought it's because Edward is your family" She replied confused, and Eden gave her a small comforting smile. It was frustrating watching Bella figure it out so slowly, but the girl barely woke up thirty minutes ago and it felt as though she was bonding with her soulmate.

"That's a part of it, yes, but because of what I am," Eden explained, even though coyotes and wolves are similar, Eden was for some reason included in the treaty- at least that's what the Cullen's told her.

"Try, Bella." Jacob urged her and took a step closer.

"You have to give me more. Tell me where to look, is there something I should see?-" Bella was saying before Eden interrupted her, "No, that's too dangerous-" she shook her head but Bella interrupted her back.

"I'll take the risk. Guys, show me." Bella begged. Jacob looked at her, it seemed like he was having a battle with himself. He probably doesn't want to but knows it's the only way.. because it is. Jacob is the one who needs to shift so Bella can finally know what he is. Eden frowned and rubbed her head, honestly this is too much drama for one day. She was here to comfort Bella, not reveal what Jacob is.

"Where was the last place you saw me.. the way I used to be?"

"The motorcycles- that clearing in the woods," Bella answered, she was confused and she looked at Eden for confirmation who nodded. Bella finally figured it out, Jacob is a werewolf.

Jacob turned to go, but Eden stopped him before he can go any further, "Don't go, we have to talk" she said, looking into his brown beautiful eyes. He nodded and looked at Bella who was staring at them confused.

"I'll explain later" Eden told her before pulling Jacob away. She held his hand until they reached the bathroom door. Jacob opened the door and pulled her inside. The two awkwardly stood and stared at each other. They slowly began to lose themselves in each other's eyes before Eden realised they don't have much time, she wasn't sure what time it was but she knew Bella's dad would be getting up soon for work.

"Can you please explain what's going to happen? I mean, do you have feelings for Bella? Do you even want me?" Eden whispered as she looked at him and began to play with her hands. Jacob frowned and shook his head, he softly held Eden's hands and pulled her closer to his chest.

"Why would you think that?"Jacob softly whispered into her hair as he hugged her before continuing, |Of course I want you; you're my imprint. I don't have feelings for Bella, at least not anymore. I want you" Jacob replied with a smile,. Eden blushed and nodded. She felt butterflies in her stomach as she tightened her hold onto him, before Jacob suddenly pulled away from her with a frown.

"I'm sorry for making you feel like I don't accept you as my imprint, please forgive me" He apologised before hugging Eden again. She let out an airy laugh before whispering an, "It's okay" into his hard chest. Eden could feel his muscles, and a grin began to form onto her face.

"I need to go but don't worry, we'll talk again," Jacob said, reluctantly pulling away. He opened the bathroom door and waited for Eden to walk out before closing it. The two walked in Bella's room where she waited patiently with one eyebrow raised.

Jacob looked at her with a wry smile then chuckled. He pulled Eden in for another hug. His hot skin warmed Eden up. It felt amazing to finally hug her mate and feel accepted . After Jacob softly kissed Eden's head, he gave her a small smile and he walked to leave.

"Bye Bella, bye Eden" Jacob waved before jumping out the window.

"Come on, let's go," Bella said not even a minute after Jacob left. She started looking for clean clothes, Eden looked at her confused, slightly pouting. Why did Jacob have to leave so soon? He spent an hour talking to Bella and they only had two minutes. As Bella continued searching, Eden hoped she forgot about the hug she witnessed between the soulmates.

"Why? What's happening?" Eden asked, confusion clear in her tone. Eden guessed she was still in a daze since she was staring at the spot where Jacob left her view and was obviously not paying attention to what Bella was saying. Bella pulled her arm and gave her a frown, "If I'm going to lose someone else, I need to know why."
