As soon as I got close to the Hogwarts doors professor McGonagall pulled me aside from the others and she told me that I would have to be sorted into my house and because I was a transfer I would be the only one in my year getting sorted. I could already feel my stomach turn.

Walking into the great hall I could see everyone's eyes on me, I clenched my knuckles and took a deep breath. The first years where behind me I could hear them talking about how grand and big the hall was and how excited they were for the school year to begin.

The Great Hall was a large hall with four long tables where students of each House sat during the day and at mealtimes. The staff table was at the front, where the entire Hogwarts staff sat. There was a throne-like chair in the centre of the table where the current Headmaster sat. The ceiling of the Great Hall was covered with candles and it was enchanted to look like the sky above.

We finally got down to the bottom of the hall and before I could even take a second to relax I heard "Lilith Mikaelson" I could feel my hands get sweaty and my knees feeling weak of nerve as I walked up to the sorting hat.

"Mmh, let me see. Ahh. Yes." There was a pause.

The tension in the room was growing as all I could think about was not Slytherin. Not Slytherin. Not Slytherin.

...

"Slytherin!"

At first I thought I heard the sorting hat wrong and then I realised Miss McGonagall was taking the hat off my head and tapping my back gently to get up.

Walking over to the Slytherin table my legs felt weak and shaky. I sat down beside a brunette girl she looked at me quickly with a half smirk on her face and then glanced away before I could smile back.

The first years were just starting to get sorted into there houses I kept trying to think over why I have been sorted into Slytherin, I'm not a bad person. Then I released... My family. I bet you it was because I was part of the Mikaelsons family, maybe it was because I was a hybrid. I started to over think everything, I could feel a small drip of sweat dripping from my forehead. I quickly wiped it away before anyone could see.

All the first years were sorted now and the headmaster declared we can eat, piles and piles of food magically appeared in front of us. I wasn't very hungry I felt more sick then hungry but I decided to eat anyways as it was probably just nerves that made me feel sick.

I reached over to put the potatoes on my plate but at the exact same time so did this boy. A pale, blonde haired, fairly tall looking boy looked up at me. We both grabbed the spoon at the same time, my hands were on top of his he couldn't probably feel the sweat build up on my hands.

"S-Sorry." I spoke quickly.

"Mmh." The boy looked away and put the potatoes on his plate. "I recognise you..."

I looked up at the boy only with my eyes keeping my head down, I could feel my stomach go into a knot the same way it did before I entered the hall.

He chuckled at me "yes... your the one who fell over on the train." He was talking in a cool manner.

My cheeks started to burn as turn a dark red shade, I didn't reply to his snarky comments, I continued to keep my head down, I could feel his eyes staring at me looking proud of himself.

The brunette next to me tapped my shoulder. "I'm pansy. Your Lilith right?"

I nodded.

The boy in front of me chuckled again. I looked up slightly trying not to make a big deal out of it.

"What you laughing at, Malfoy?" A deep voice came from next to him.

"Uh, nothing it just seems a bit strange how this girl who acts like a Gryffindor joined Slytherin. Anyways... I'm Draco malfoy but you call me Malfo- "

"And I'm blaise!" The deep voice interpreted Draco.

"Nice to mean you!" I tried to sound confident but I'm not sure if that's how it came across.

After I finished eating I looked up to see what house Luna was in I couldn't find her at first but then I saw her facing towards me at the ravenclaw table. She didn't notice me straight away but when she did I gave a small smile hoping she had not changed her mind on me after being placed in Slytherin, she gave me a warm smile and a friendly wave. This made me feel warm knowing she still wanted to be friends with me despite what house I'm in. That feeling didn't last long as glanced over to where Hermione, Ron and Harry were sitting at the Gryffindor table they were all looking at me weirdly and whispering to each other, when I made eye contact with them they turned around and carried on talking like they didn't even recognise me from the train earlier.

"Who you staring at?" Pansy asked while leaning over to see from my perspective.

"No one I was just looking at who was in the school."

"Ugh, see that boy over there? That's Harry Potter. He is so irritating, he thinks he is the 'chosen one'" Pansy said while staring at Draco to see if he would agree with her.

I stayed silent because from when I talked to Harry he didn't seem bad at all.

At least I wasn't alone in slytherin as I thought I would be when they first said that was my house. I seem to be getting along with Pansy even though she seemed a bit over confident for her own good. Blaise seemed to be nice, but then there was Malfoy. There was something about him which intrigued me.
