Lilith POV

I lost track of when it was night and day. It all seemed to blur together. I guessed I had been stuck here for around four days but it was most likely I was wrong.

My mother was a familiar face that came to check on me most often. She would come around twice a day. Once in the morning and once at night, I guessed the timing.

During the morning she would bring me a small cup of blood. Nothing to be exited over. 2cm high in a small cylinder, it was only to keep my 'alive' but not strong another. During the night she would try talk to me. Most nights, it was the same conversation, she would ask me a question and I would answer with 'no' or rarely 'yes' but half the time would be an awkward silence.

I hadn't seen Draco since I fed on him. It made me laugh to think about it. Did I feel guilty? No, And that's a good thing about no humanity. It's a cheat of life.

I was fairly surprised Draco is still by my side at this point. Considering the things I have done.

As usual small footsteps come down the stairs. I'm resting against the back, brick wall staring directly at the square hole in the door.

I wasn't shocked to see my mother standing there. Her facial expressions were the same every day. Frowned lips and blood shot, glazed eyes. I never spoke first once she arrived I just sat there, staring straight ahead.

"Lilith." My mothers voice was sweet and genuine.

"Mhm" My eyes slowly glide towards her direction.

"How are you?"

I let out a scoff as I try push myself off the wall. "How am I?" I question myself. "Well... I feel amazing." My mother's eyes widen at my words. "It feels amazing to have your humanity off and not care. You know what it's like... don't you?" I inquired. Her mouth drops open as she furrows her eyebrows.

I remembered an old story my mother told me not so long ago. The time she flipped her switch. It wasn't long after her mother died. Elizabeth Forbes. I never got to meet her but I was told she was a brave, heart fulled human. According to my mother turning her humanity switch off was a big regret. Not only did she turn hers off she forced her friend to switch his off too. The story always interested me.

"It was a long time ago." My mother claims.

"But you remember as if it was yesterday." I examine my mother. My weak legs struggled to carry the weight of me, I walked closed towards to door and grabbed on tight towards the metal bars helping myself stay stable. I looked at my mother in the corner of my eye, I could see she was hurting. She wanted to me help me. She wanted to 'fix' me.

"I do." She answers honestly. "And do you know why I remember like it's yesterday?"

I don't reply.

"Because that time of my life haunts me. It's the time I risked other people's life's, ruined their family's. Everything you do with your humanity off may feel care free at the time but once the flip is turned back on it all comes rushing back. Every person you kill, you feel their pain, their sorrows. It sticks with you for the rest of your life." My mother explains quickly. "I just don't want you to live with such guilt." She continues while pushing back her tears and wiping underneath her eyes.

"Wow that was..." I pause as I try think of the best word to use. "Mmh... boring." I watch her face drop as her attempt to get my humanity back goes away.  I stare at her up and down as a menacing smile spreads from each check. "I can see why you are here." I submit.

"And that is that?"

"You're not here to comfort me or keep me company. You're only here because you don't want me to think you are disapproving of me," I stop as I watch her carefully. "Just like your mother was for you when she first found out about your vampire side." I could see the memory's rush through my mothers brain. I knew it was a deep path to go down but it was funny to see someone's misery. "She didn't love you then. You were so caught up in your own 'Caroline frantic' that you thought of yourself before her." At this point I didn't really know what I was saying but it seemed to affect her so I went along with it.

"I don't need to take this criticism, Lilith." My mother sounded angry and hurt.

I let out a sneer laugh as her hurt eyes fall upon me. "I have the power to do anything I want and not care. Isn't that something humans want? To not feel anything. To go on with your life. Free."

"They don't just put peoples life's in danger!" My mother doesn't move her eyes off me. They're full of fear. Not because she is scared of me but because she is scared of what I will do. She knows me better then anyone, well she used too.

"Please... Lilith. Turn it back on." She pleads.

I move closer towards to small hole in the door and give her hopeful eyes. For a second a see a smile spread across her face. "No." I whisper.

"For the record, I don't agree with what they're doing. I mean, I agree that you need to turn your humanity back on, but I don't think that making you suffer is the way to do it. It's not who you are." My mother says with worrisome and care.

"What makes you such an expert on who I am?" I raise my one eyebrow as I question her.

"Because you're not only my daughter. You're my best friend." She said as her eyes glaze over with tears. "Draco needs you. I need you. Your father needs you. " She tucked her blonde hair behind her ear as her eyebrows furrowed. I hated that I couldn't read what she was thinking. She moves closer towards the wooden door. The noice of keys clanging together and moving into the door lock. The door opens widely as a smile appeared on my face.

"Your father wants to talk to you." My mother speaks quickly as I hear footsteps towards me. I squint my eyes as I look towards the light.

"Is the old you ready to show?" My father speaks as his face shows no emotion.

"Go to hell." I speak before thinking.

"Ahh, what kind words." My father laughs.

My mother steps forward slowly and places her hand on my arm, helping me stay steady.

"Let me talk to her again." My mother speaks towards my father.  My eyes felt heavy as the vervain continued to weaken me. "Go through with the plan." My mother whispers but I hardly hear what she says.

My father scoffs as he vamp speeds towards me I feel a small needle go into my arm. Instant pain rushed through me as the vervain made me black out once again.

~*~

My eyes open stronger then before as I am hugging the floor. My eyes stay close to the ground as I see a pair of purple converse standing not so far away from me. The shoes make it obvious who was standing there. Luna.

"Oh, Lilith. You don't look too good." Luna says with concern. She was standing awkwardly in the same room as me, I looked around to see who else was here but there was no one. Just the two of us.

"I heard." I respond while letting my eyes adjust to the brighter lights. They were brighter then I remembered, being stuck in a small cell for around a week really does effect you.

Luna hurries towards me carefully. "Here. Let me help you." She grabs my arm gently and helps me off the floor. On some consideration I wondered if she knew about my humanity.

As I become stable standing on my own, I shrug Luna off my arm. She flinches back and lets in a gasp. "Why are you here. Is this another plan to turn my humanity back on." I blurt out. If she didn't know about my humanity before then she definitely knows now.

"Your parents called me they said you need my help." Luna was smiling as she speaks. A confused expression crossed my face wondering why she wasn't frightened.

"And why would I need you?" My voice sounded more Insulting then I coursed it to be.

Luna shrugs as she moves closer towards me. "I am here for you, Lilith."

The closer she stepped towards me the more I could hear her beating heart going at a steady pace. She placed her hand on my shoulder and sent me a warm smile. "The hardest part of life is-"

Before I can let her finish her 'inspirational' quote I let the veins appear underneath eyes, again. Luna jumps back as she walks backwards towards the door. I open my mouth, revealing my fangs and start vamp speeding towards her. It didn't take long to reach her before I grab her shoulders and bring her closer towards me.

"It will be sad for you to die but I'm hungry." I lean forward towards her neck but I stop. I feel a pair of hands wrapped around my waist. I look down as see familiar rings. Draco. He pulled me away from Luna, causing enough space between us for me to not hurt her.

"Well done Mr Malfoy." My father speaks while entering the room.

I'm confused of the situation. My mother followers him into the room. Her head held low with her hair covering her face. Draco's hands were still wrapped around my waist, gripping it tightly incase I leave.

"Lovegood please come here." My mother speaks confidently.

I watch Luna carefully. She didn't hesitate walking over to my mother, as she gets closer towards her she grips around Luna's arms tightly. I watch Luna's facial expressions go from will-free to frightened. I watch my father step closer towards her, standing strongly next to my mother.

"Lilith." My father calls. "Turn your humanity on right this second." He states with little to no energy.

"Mmh... no." I reply weakly.

"Turn it on now otherwise your little friend dies." He argues against me.

I scoff as I turn to Luna. Her eyes are widened as I can hear her heart beating faster. She was scared. And I don't blame her.

"You wouldn't." I scoff.

My father let's out a sneer laugh as he takes Luna away from my mother. "If you don't care about anything anymore, fine. Prove it." I could see Luna struggling. "What difference does it make? One less student to worry about."

I'm panicking inside but I don't let it show. I feel Draco's hands tighter around my waist. Draco leans over and whispers into my ear. "He wouldn't kill Luna. Would he?"

I shrug as I truly didn't know the answer.

"Lilith." Luna preys for my help.

I watch my father carefully. He didn't look like this was an act. He had a threading smile spread across his face. I look over towards my mother. Her eyes were worried, she crossed her arms staring deeply at me.

"You're bluffing." I stand up tall as I watch over to his direction. Without hesitation, I hear a crack of her neck and a thud on the floor. "NO!" I shout as I see my best friend falling closer towards the hard surface. I break free of Draco's grip and hurry over towards Luna. I didn't think about vamp speeding as my mind was focusing on other things. I gasp as my best friend is no longer breathing. Tears stream down my checks uncontrollably. I feel a pit grow in my stomach as I see Luna's hair intwined between her.

"Feel any emotions yet?" My mother says quietly.

"You angry I just killed your friend?" My father provoked.

I gasp again as I look down at Luna. Her smile was no longer on her face. My chest felt like it sunk. My hand moves towards my mouth as I stand in shock not knowing what to do with myself.

My father continued. "Or are you sad that the girl that made everyone happier is now lost a heart beat."

More tears fluid through my eyes. My mother walks closer towards me as I tremble. "It's a good thing we got you that charm for your birthday." She speaks quietly.

"T-the charm? What about it?" I question with tear stains down my checks.

"The charm is like no other, remember... It can be used in many ways." My mother sends me a warm smile. "Healing and many more but there is one thing it can do which can be helpful in this situation." My mother looks at me with warm, hopeful eyes. "You can bring her back from the dead, Lilith."

I let out a sigh of relief as I stand speechless, not even a word going through my mind. Tears overfill my eyes as I collapse down on my knees and place my head in my hands. I didn't know weather to cry of happiness that my best friend isn't dead or to cry for no reason. I feel a weight lift of my shoulders knowing Luna was soon to be alive again. I let my emotions back in and I didn't regret it. I take a deep breath as I feel the carefree, hatred lift off me. I breath heavy as the emotional gate floods in.

"Where is the charm?" I question quickly.

"Now that's up to you. To prove your humanity is back on. Where ever you left the charm is where it's going to be." My father said.

"Hogwarts." I reply weakly.

"You only have 24 hours before she's dead forever. Don't waste time, Lill." My mother says quickly.

I get up quickly and look her in the eye. She hadn't called me 'Lill' since I was little. I smile as I run through the manor doors, whipping my tears. I knew Luna would be safe soon enough, only if I get that charm before 24 hours.

The time was my only challenge.
